The noise of shuffling disturbed Vansh out of his sleep. He frowned.

Ziya who was trying to find her piece of jewelry in the drawers looked at his frowned face and instantly ran to his side.

"Sorry, sorry, you sleep." She patted his cheek and head, exactly what someone will do to a sleeping baby.

"I am not a baby, Ziya." Vansh pouted and put her palm on his cheek.

He seriously doubted that Ziya treats him like a baby simply because he is three years younger than her. She is thirty and he is twenty-seven. Sometimes he feels pampered, but sometimes he feels dominated. But overall he feels blessed.

He noticed that Ziya was wearing a pink saree. According to what he had observed in their initial days of marriage, when Ziya is happy she will wear a saree. When she is sad, she will wear loose clothes. On the normal days you will find her in designer Kurtas paired with jeans or leggings.

"You look happy." He said cheesily.

"Yes, I am very happy." She blushed.

She looked different. More beautiful, more happy, more lively.

"Ziya, what is it?" He asked while smiling. He was sure that whatever she will say, her reply will make him feel like the happiest man alive. He just had this feeling.

She didn't say anything, just held his palm and rested it on her belly.

It took some time for Vansh to understand what exactly this gesture meant.

And when he understood, his sleepiness was replaced by elation. He got up from the bed.

"Are you pregnant?" He asked hopefully.

As a reply Ziya nodded with a blush adorning her cheeks.

Vansh pulled her closer and kissed her forehead. He felt an emotion that couldn't be described in words, it was a new feeling for him.

He had never expected that one day he will marry someone like Ziya. She was someone who always keeps a mask of gold digger and hides her true self. She wasn't selfish or greedy, she was a girl who had to grow up early. That's it.

And now they are expecting their first child.

"Ziya... I love you." This was the best gift he could give her in return of this happy news.

His mind drifted back to two years ago. When he saw her for the first time.

When she was kissing an old man.

Vansh was kind of confused to not find Diva tagging along Advay. It was her, who would attend such fancy business parties with him and end up arguing with a rich bitch like she herself is.

Their affair was the reason that increased misunderstandings between Advay and Vansh. Vansh was only eleven when he caught them kissing. He wonders why his father or stepmother didn't caught them yet. Maybe they were too busy to keep an eye on their children's actions.

Vansh totally zoned out while cursing his brother and stepsister. A hand touched his shoulder which startled him. He controlled a deep urge to groan in frustration when he looked at the owner of this hand.

Tiara, who had lots to tiaras.

In the high society of Mumbai city she was popularly called The Pageant Queen. Because she had won many beauty pageants.

But Vansh just hated her existence. She was really annoying. Someone with innocent looks and toxic mind. Deceiving was a word define her personality.

"Hi, Vansh. Long time, no see."

Because I don't want to see you.
He wanted to say this out loud.

"Yeah, I was quite busy with my MBA degree."

"Oh, yes. You just completed your MBA. Congrats!"

Tiara was pretending as if she already knew about him completing MBA. But if she knew she would have congratulated him for topping the university as well. Which she didn't.

Pretending to know everything is her hobby.

"Thanks."

"By the way, what about treat? Are you going to give me a party?" She started playing with a button of his coat.

"I don't like parties."

"At least, a gift."

"I should be the one on recieving end, not you."

"Of course, I'll gladly give you a gift. Just come to my penthouse tonight."

And he instantly regretted his words.

She was hitting on him.

If she had said the same words to Advay, then they would have been already heading to the penthouse. Hell, it had already happened a couple of years ago. But it was Vansh this time.

"I think I just saw an old friend." Making an excuse he literally ran away from her. But maybe Tiara was adamant on hooking up with him that night, that's why she followed him.

Vansh reached a deserted corner and sighed in relief. However, his relief was ended when he heard a weird kind of sound. A smooching sound.

Which turns out to be a pretty young woman and an old man making out in the darkness.

The old man must be a billionaire tired of his family and the young woman must be a gold digger.

He kept his eyes and mouth shut. After few more minutes the smooching sound ended and the old man left. But the girl was still standing there leaning against the wall.

She visibly looked tired and maybe disgusted.

At the same moment he saw Tiara approaching him and instantly he took strides towards the girl and kissed her.

It wasn't a proper kiss, not even a peck. Just a liplock. He kept his lips on hers and didn't move further. He could feel her relaxing, and he could hear Tiara leaving.

"Whore!" She taunted the girl before leaving.

He pulled back and looked at her.

She didn't look like a gold digger.

Her eyes caught his gaze and kept looking.

Both of them could feel a spark between them. Maybe because they just almost kissed, or maybe they were attracted to each other.

His next move was totally out of his character. He didn't know why, but he kissed her. He kissed her for real. And she didn't protest. It wasn't the first time some man was kissing her forcefully. The only difference was that it calmed her. Like she found her peace in his touch.

The kiss was a long, no a longest one. It felt extremely intoxicating. Finally they were out of breath and had to end the kiss.

Their foreheads touched and lungs raced for more oxygen.

Ziya was blushing and she had no reason for it. It was natural. But she felt nervous and rushed away from him.

But she had to admit that the stranger was a good kisser.

"Congratulations, Zee and Zizu."

Well, just last night Advay told her that she used to call Vansh 'Zizu' (Jiju). So she started this practice again.

Zuri was excited to play with the new family member. But Vansh could notice sadness lingering on Advay's face. No doubt he was happy for Vansh, but the news reminded him of his failed fatherhood. It was a permanent scar that could never leave him.

And maybe it was the time to tell Zuri about the truth. He just can't hide it from her any longer. She needs to know that... that she lost her child because of him. He can't lie to her anymore.

Warning: I am going to end this story as soon as possible. Because I am getting bored of this story. But I'll try my best to not mess it up, hopefully.

Something is cooking up in my mind. Any guesses?
