Prologue: Four Fishes to Fry
AZHRIA
Four Fishes to Fry
Serial killers do on a small scale what the politicians execute on a large one. How disappointing that I was born in an era where idiots govern the blind.
"Zorya," I stared at her school portrait, "what a beautiful crime you were."
Sadly, the world would not be able to see the full growth of your beauty.
But I have come to introduce them to a face that would evoke their nightmare.
It'll take more than killing you to kill you. That's what I promise you, Zorya.
Because now that I'm here, it's time for them to feel the real meaning of fear.
Where money can't save them, where power won't be enough to spare them.
In my own brand of justice, I only have appointed one space to house them in.
And as early as now, those monsters must start practicing how to breathe underneath the soil because that is where I plan to bury their evil souls.
But on another thought, I think it will be so mercifully polite of me to send them back to hell where they belong.
Killing them wouldn't compensate for the wickedness they had displayed.
Death will be just an easy escape.
So I must apply a different tactic here.
One that will exact a heavy toll, that would ignite their darkest downfall.
"I won't go easy on them, Commander," I told the grinning elder, he's probably expecting my oath. "This shall mark the greatest performance of my life."
"As it should," he replied. "I will not be specifying any rule on this one. Rare as it might seem, but I want you to go in full force here. Be your optimal self."
And then he handed me their profile.
"Looks like I found four fishes to fry."
A sinister smirk came uninvited. Oddly, but I have never felt so fueled before.
If this mission tells me to die, I'll die a winner. It's not a threat, but a promise.
"Buckle up, fuckers. I'm coming."
