♧ 4.2 • Entwined ♧
Yash was singing “Thande Thande Pani Se Nahana Chahiye....” Though he was bathing with hot water. But midway water stopped coming from the shower. And there was soap all over his face.
“Doesn't matter who is society's secretary, all of them keep messing things. Abey, Veer Bhonsle! You are a gone case today!”
Yash quickly wiped his face with a towel and went to the balcony wearing a bathrobe.
“Abey O Veer Bhonsle! Gulmohar society's newly elected secretary! Lagta hai aapke secretary banne ke khushi mein pani vacation par gaya hai!”
(Seems like water has gone on a vacation on the occasion of you becoming the secretary.)
Veer came into balcony wearing an apron. He glared at the Gujrati businessman who keeps pointing his finger at him. If it was upto Veer, he would eat Yash's pointed finger like he eats ladyfinger.
“Don't you have any other work apart from fighting with people?” Veer taunted him angrily.
“Well, of course, I have work. But one has to take bath to get ready for work. And there's no water coming!”
“Wait! Siddharth! Aditya! Ranbir! Devang! Hriday!” Veer called for their friends. Siddharth and Hriday, who lived on the ground floor, came outside. While Aditya, Ranbir, and Devang appeared in their balconies.
“Veer, this is your ninth day as society's secretary and this is your third fight with Yash,” Siddharth recounted in a very bored manner. He was done with Yash and Veer's constant silly fights.
“Of course, you will take your best friend's side,” Veer taunted Siddharth.
“Now don't start fighting with Sid. Why did you call all of us?” said Hriday.
“Well, Mr Yash Patel has complained that there's no water coming to his house. Are you guys facing the same problem?” Veer asked the guys.
“Nope, I just came out of the shower,” replied Devang.
“Yeah, I'm facing no water problem either,” replied Ranbir.
The other three also agreed that they were not facing any water problem at their homes.
Veer turned towards Yash with a smug look, “Mr Yash Patel, this proves that you are the only one facing the problem and society is not responsible for it.”
“Umm... Yash?”
Yash heard a feminine voice from below his balcony and saw a very confused Jigyasa standing there.
“Hi, Jigyasa!” He waved at her excitedly. But then he realised what he was wearing. A pucking bathrobe. And then he realised what he was doing. Fighting with his pucking neighbor. That excitement turned into embarassment. And the curious gazes from the guys just made it worse.
“Wait for me!” He shouted and ran inside.
✿ ✿ ✿
Jigyasa was sitting in the living room of Siddharth's house. Siddharth was making some Masala Chai for her and Yash was now taking shower in Siddharth's bathroom.
The doorbell rung. Jigyasa got up to open the door but Siddharth came running from the kitchen.
“Oh, please, be at ease, Jigyasa. I'll open the door,” Siddharth smiled and went to the door. Jigyasa sat down. Things got a bit awkward because of her sudden visit to Yash's society.
As Siddharth opened the door, Devang appeared in front of him.
“Yes, Devang?” Siddharth arched his eyebrow at the troublemaker journalist who lived in C wing.
“Actually I ran out of sugar so can you please give me some?” Devang was trying to peek inside the house.
“Where's the bowl?” Siddharth asked seeing no bowl in Devang's hand.
“Oh, bowl? Give me sugar in your bowl. I'll return it to you later.”
“Actually I ran out of sugar too. So I can't help you,” He lied.
“But I can smell Masala Chai brewing in your kitchen,” Devang argued.
“It's sugar-free Masala Chai,” saying so he shut the door at Devang's face.
Siddharth had just taken three steps away from the door and the doorbell rang again. He opened the door to see Veer who was still wearing that white apron with oil stains.
“Yes, Veer?”
“Actually I'm making pasta. But then I realised I ran out of pasta sauce. So can you give me pasta sauce?” Veer was also trying to peek inside the house, particularly the girl who came to meet Yash.
“No, I don't keep pasta sauce at home.”
“Actually I also ran out of cheese. You must have cheese, at least.”
“No, I don't.” And he shut the door at Veer's face.
Siddharth began walking away but again the doorbell rang. He rolled his eyes and mumbled some colorful words under his breath before opening the door. This time it was Ranbir.
“Yes, Ranbir?”
“Actually I'm making Rajma, but I ran out of ginger.”
“There's no ginger in Rajma,” Siddharth replied with a sarcastic smile which meant, “Seriously, bro? You got no other excuse?”
“Oh, I'll leave then,” Ranbir understood he messed up so he quietly left.
“Thank you.” And he shut the door.
Siddharth stood there for a while and as expected the doorbell rang again. He opened the door and this time it was Aditya.
“Now what do YOU want, Aditya?” Siddharth prepared himself to hear another stupid reply.
“Actually... I'm here to ask if it's going to rain today,” Well, Aditya took the crown in making dumbest excuse.
“Seriously?” Siddharth gave him a that ‘Seriously, bro?’ look
“Yeah,” Aditya grinned.
“Get lost!” And he shut the door on Aditya's face.
The doorbell rang again and Siddharth already knew it must be Hriday at the door.
“Yes, Hriday?” He opened the door and saw the handsome heart surgeon who resided in their society.
“We ran out of excuses so I'll ask straightforwardly. Who is the girl who came to meet Yash?” Well, Hriday's straightforward attitude was one of the reasons Siddharth liked him.
“Well, I don't know that either. So tell those idiots to stop annoying me,” He shut the door and switched off the bell.

By the time Yash exited Siddharth's bedroom wearing t-shirt and sweatpants, Siddharth and Jigyasa were having Masala Chai. Yash sat down beside Siddharth and nudged him to leave them alone.
Siddharth understood the gesture and quickly made an excuse, “Yash, I forgot to make tea for you. Wait here, I'll be back in a while.” Siddharth picked up his cup of tea and went to the kitchen.
“So you thought about the proposal?” Yash asked her.
Jigyasa took a sip of the tea and replied, “I have no other way to get out of this mess. I will marry you.”
Yash smiled, “Great! I'll introduce you to my Baa tomorrow morning. Send me your address.”
“You will come to my house!?” Jigyasa asked doubtfully.
“Yeah,” Yash agreed nonchalantly.
“Alright,” She nodded.
Jigyasa left after that and saw five guys lingering around Siddharth's house.
“This society is quite a circus. It will be fun living here after marriage,” Jigyasa joked to herself and walked out of the Gulmohar society.
✿ ✿ ✿
Siddharth came out of the kitchen as soon as Jigyasa walked out of the house.
“What's going on, Yash?” He asked his best friend.
“Oh, you didn't bring me Masala Chai,” said Yash.
“First, tell me why the chef was here to meet you? Wait, are you planning on getting into restaurant business?”
“I'm marrying her,” said Yash.
“What!?” It wasn't Siddharth who shouted that, but Devang who was eavesdropping on their conversation from the main door with the other four guys.
“Don't you all have work or something?” Yash yelled at them. But they entered the living room and gathered around him.
“When did this happen?” Devang asked.
“Who is she?” Ranbir asked.
“For how long it was going on?” Hriday asked.
“Weren't you dating Saloni?” Aditya asked.
“Did you cheat on Saloni?” Veer asked.
“Is she pregnant with your child?” Devang asked.
“Guys, shut up! I'll tell you everything. Get away from me.” Yash shouted.
Seems like this is just the beginning of chaos.
