Chapter 10 - Rony & Julia
Chapter 10
---
After having lunch at the deck yesterday, we all went our separate ways back home. It was the most fun I've had ever since we came to Alaska, and I think I was also speaking for Damon. After the weird conversation that Ryder and I had yesterday, everything went back to normal, and it was never mentioned in the trip again.
I was interrupted from my reverie when Drake hit me with a piece of lettuce. "We've been trying to get your attention for 3 minutes now. Why are you always zoning out like that?" he asked.
Emma decided to sit with Bex and I which led to Drake, Damon, and Ryder to come sit with us. We were all now sitting at our own table: Ryder, Bex, Damon, Drake, Emma, and I, away from the rest.
"It's her thing," Bex said with a mouth full of pizza. "She's like Raven from That's So Raven."
I rolled my eyes. "What do you want?"
"We were planning our senior prank," Ryder said excitedly.
My attention was now completely with them. Pranks were my thing; I was the queen of pranks, and everyone knew that in my previous school. It's about time Marviston High knew that, too.
"You see, guys? I told you that it was too early. Of co-" I interrupted Drake who seemed to take my silence for refusal.
"Uhh, no. It's never too early for the senior prank. I'd say it's about time," I said smirking.
Drake groaned as the rest whooped with excitement.
"So, what do you guys have planned so far?" I popped a fry in my mouth and turned my serious face on. This was real talk, and when it came to pranks I was not to be joked with. Pun intended.
"I don't know, I want to make it big; major. It has to be The Senior Prank," Emma said, emphasizing the word with big excited eyes. I agreed with her before laughing my evil laugh.
Everyone sitting in our table or around us gave me weird looks except Damon who was used to this.
"Here she goes again. Why'd you guys even tell her about this prank?" Damon asked with a groan before resting his forehead on his head.
Ignoring him, I started brainstorming ideas on the pranks that we could do. The wheels in my brain had started working, and for the sake of everyone else in the school, it was not a good thing.
The day passed by in a snap of a finger, and soon enough, I was packing my bag in front of my locker. Zipping up my bag, the locker door shut suddenly causing my heart to skip a beat from fright. Ryder laughed at me dropping my bag and I glared at him.
"Ash Brooks, I am here to a ask you a very important question." He cleared his throat after calming down from his laughing fit.
"And that would be?" I asked, still annoyed.
"Would you care to go out on a date with me?"
"Why?" I raised my eyebrows.
"Okay, cool, so I'll text you the- Wait, what?" He asked confused, thinking that I would have agreed easily.
"Why should I go on a date with you? You are just another player. Give me reasons to why I should go out on a date with you." I crossed my arms with a smirk at his shocked expression which he quickly covered up.
"Well, first of all, I'm Ryder Adams.Who wouldn't go out on a date with me?" he said with a smirk. "Second, I'll make it the best date that you'd ever go to."
"Oh, that's cool," I said, hanging the bag straps on my shoulder. "But these are not good enough reasons. You just proved to be more arrogant and conceited than I already thought you were. Have a nice day."
And with that, I left him flabbergasted in the middle of the hallway.
I spun the white pasta around my fork, listening intently to Elyse ranting about her latest work. She loved art; it was her religion. Elyse was a very famous artist known in the country, and everyone died to have one of her paintings hung on their walls. To be paid off on doing what you love to do was a dream come true.
"So, this big business guy sees my painting and decides to call me. I think, 'oh wow this can't get any better', but it does! He tells me about the famous art gallery that he owns and asks to hang it in his gallery!" She said over-excitedly.
"That's great hon, congratulations!" Dad said with a grin.
"You go, sista! That's my Elyse!" Sarah giggled with Elyse, making us all laugh.
Damon and I congratulated her before I took my plate to the sink. Unfortunately, it was my turn to wash the dishes today. After everyone dumped their dishes in the sink, I started my job and winced when I touched some unfamiliar, soggy food.
Disgusting, I thought with disdain. It was like some creature in there. I shuddered.
After, finally, washing the last dish, I wash my hands hurriedly and ran to my room to rest. I really needed a nap. Sighing in content, I flopped down on my plump soft bed. My eyelids felt heavy as I began to doze o-
"Ash, it's for you!"
Spectacular.
Walking down the stairs, I look to find Dad eyeing Ryder suspiciously by the door. Dad saw no threat in him, or, in fact, in any guy that I ever dated. He was one of the very 'chill' dads. He'd just be scaring them off for fun, but really, he couldn't care less.
"What do you want?" I asked once dad left. I couldn't help but smirk internally thinking about what happened earlier today.
"I, Rony, came to show you that I'm worth the date, my Julia" he said determinedly.
I burst out from laughing at his words. He can not be serious.
"I think you meant Romeo and Juliet," I said in between laughing hysterically.
"But then I wouldn't get points for originality, now would I?" He winked.
"I have a feeling you're just trying to cover it up," I said with a smile.
"Just follow me," he said as he started walking away.
He led me outside before telling me to close my eyes. Doing as told, I heard him running away.
"Where are you going?!"
I opened my eyes to see him gone. I started walking to the direction of where he left according to my ears, and after walking for a minute, I found an apple with a note next to it.
It read:
Reason #1: I'll make it the most special date that you ever had.
Smiling to myself, I kept walking forward until I stumbled upon another one.
It read:
Reason #2: If you don't like it, you'll get to dare me whatever. Again.
The next one read:
Reason #3: We'll get to have the best apple pie ever for dessert.
Ohhh. That's when I realized that the apple stood for apple pie.
And the last one read:
Reason #4: I know how you hate cheesy things, so you'll fall in love with the date ;).
I folded them all neatly to keep them in my⎯totally not cheesy⎯special box later, and kept walking to find Ryder standing with a smirk.
"What do you think?"
"I think that you need help in English," I said with a laugh, walking towards him. "And that you should text me when the date will be."
"I think you meant when the best date will be, my Julia," he said.
"You are the most arrogant person I know. But that's what makes you you," I said with a laugh.

Author's Note:
Hey, guys! Sorry for the short chapter, but I just felt like I needed to update. So, many of you don't know this, but SD decided to stop writing for a while. She says she needs a break which I completely understand. This will, however, not affect how often I'll update. I'm still gonna update every two days or everyday.
As usual, this is not edited, so feel free to point out any grammatical mistake (I'm sure they'll be many 😂)
