So b!tches need lessons..
(Double POV part after >>>.Left Steve right Eve.)
~~~Steve's POV~~~
I clutched my throbbing head and rubbed my cramped neck. I had to call her. I missed her but this project needed my attention. I tried to finish it as soon as possible.
Guilt washed over me as I realised what I did. Why the hell did I have to have anger issues? Why? I just took it out on her.
I didn't know what will happen.
I heaved a tired sigh as I shut my laptop off. How will I apologise to her?
She must have left.
I looked at the clock. It was quarter past one.
I walked to my elevator. She was sitting outside the building.
"Lyn?" I said and she looked at me. I lowered my eyes and she looked away as well.
I opened my coat so as to wrap it around her but she raised her hand.
"I was sitting inside. I'm not cold."
**** me.
"Come. I'll drop you off." She whispered.
"You don't need...." I started but she kept walking.
"Lyn...."
"I don't have a car. Keys?" She asked. I handed them to her.
Goodness.
The car ride was awkwardly silent. She resolutely abstained from looking and my guilt just made it difficult for me to breathe. My tender rose.
I'd been thinking that the completion of the project would make me happy. But...
The car halted.
I turned to her.
"Lyn... You're leaving?" I asked.
"I'll wait for sometime and then I'll leave." She spoke. We both got down and once I opened the door, we both entered.
"My room?" I asked softly. She studied me and nodded. The absence of light reducing visibility of her already incomprehensible reaction.
My hand itched to hold hers. Why wasn't she saying anything? She can shout at me all she wants.
It was for the first time that she was entering my room. She looked around and then on my bed. Her eyes stopped for a split second at my study table as they roamed around the room.
"Make yourself comfortable." I said as I headed to put my phone on charge. She walked towards my bed and sat down on the posterior side. I took off my coat, then my jacket, deliberately taking look at papers on my desk so as to cut the awkwardness.
I need to apologise even if she doesn't accept it. I can't afford a distant piece of my heart.
Or rather a distant heart.
She was sitting looking at her hands in her lap. I bent down on the floor. Taking a hold of her hands, I looked into her eyes.
"Lyn I'm sorry. I really am. I shouldn't have shouted on you. I mean I just lost it. I never intended to do that. That was a really important one you know. I just..." She frowned.
"You don't need to explain anything to me. I am not angry." She said pulling her hands away a bit.
"Lyn please. Don't be distant. I'm sorry. I'll do anything you say. Please..."
"Leave my hand."
I looked at her.
She nodded.
"Lyn. You can punish me. You can shout at me. I promise this won't...."
"Shh." She shushed me. I ran a hand through my hair.
"Sit." She said.
I looked at her. Then sat down on the floor, my back towards her.
I was again being desperate.
She slipped her hands on my shoulder.
"Think about the one face which you live for." She said. I closed my eyes. Her face flashed in my mind.
"..that you love." I opened my eyes as it was again hers.
Do I love her? Love?
"What happened?" She asked. I shook my head.
"Then imagine that person smile at you." She said. I smiled as I thought about her. Even though she was sitting just behind me, I was missing her.
Her hands slowly made way to my nape and she massaged it slowly.
"Hey!" I called out as I pulled away.
"What are you doing? You're not supposed to massage me. You're my girlfriend. Too high a person to do that. And I don't get massage from anywhere. Getting it from you is another story."
"Shut up. Sit quietly." She said.
"But..."
"Fine. I'm going."
"But Lyn."
She tried to get up.
I didn't budge to give her room.
She sat down.
"You're so very stubborn." I said as she slowly soothed out my sprain.
Her hand hardened with my muscles and each time she pressed relaxed me. I closed my eyes.
"So imagine that he is smiling at you."
"He?"
"Your beloved Gab." She said slowly.
"It can be she as well. Mia?" I said.
She became silent.
I sighed as she continued. It was so comforting.
I laid my head in her lap.
"Lyn I'm sorry. I'm really sorry. I just..."
"I'm not angry. You don't need to explain yourself." She said as her hands caressed my forehead.
"Lyn..."
"I know you were irritated and frustrated. It's fine." She smiled.
"You're no one for me to take my frustration out on."
"But I'm your girlfriend. And it's not just for cuddling and taking out on dates and treating the best. I'll stand by your side through everything. I understand and I'm not angry. Topic end." She said. I took hold of her hands and bringing them close to my lips, I kissed them lightly.
"You've made the biggest promise one has ever made for me. I'm so lucky to have you. Thank Christ." I looked at her upside down face due to my position.
She lowered her neck and pecked my forehead.
"I try but... But my anger..."
"You don't need to change yourself for me. You're the best in the way you are. Just be truthful to me and I shall remain by your side."
I smiled.
"You're a true Queen. My Queen. My girlfriend."
She beamed wearily.
"Let's not make it emotional." She smiled. I shut my eyes. Her hands did magic. My sprain had vanished and her lousy, hard steps at my forehead had just rendered my head painless.
"Fine. Good night. I think I shall leave now." She said.
"Don't leave. Please stay." I said.
She studied me.
We both stood up.
"I really need to leave Velvet." She walked towards the door. I held her hand and pulled her back. She crashed into me and I enveloped her.
"You're not going little one."
"Let me go." She whispered.
"Stay. I request." I said softly.
She stared at me.
"But I don't have clothes." She spoke.
"I don't mind you on my bed without them." I said as a matter of fact.
She tried to suppress a smile and glare at me but the pink tinge her face glowed with was unmistaken.
"You can wear anything you like. I mean.." I started.
"You're perverted." She ranted.
"Just for you."
"Can I borrow your shirt?" She asked.
"Anything. You can even borrow me."
"I regret coming to you in the first place. At least you were not making me flustered due to that project." She ranted.
"This is just the starting." I leaned and whispered near her ear.
She grabbed a shirt from my closet.
"Can I wear this?"
"Why not?"
"Wait... I want this one." She pointed to the one I was wearing.
"This?" I asked.
She nodded.
"I love your cologne collection." She beamed.
"Take it." I smirked pointing at my shirt.
"Give."
"I meant unbutton it and take it." She narrowed her eyes and pushed me into the washroom.
"Just tell me if you want to see what's beneath it." I winked.
"Jerk."
She muttered. I walked out shirtless, just in a lower.
"Velvet?" She shut her eyes.
"My room is fine with 'a naked man'." I laughed.
"Go and get dressed."
"Pardon? Get undressed? You do it for yourself. I won't stop you." I smirked as she growled in frustration.
"I hate you." She muttered.
"Aww. Little girls shouldn't lie." I said.
She went inside and then peeped again.
"What about bottom wear?" She asked.
"You want shorts?" I asked.
She stared at me for a moment.
"Or something else?" I queried.
"It's fine. Give 'em." She replied.
I handed them to her. Pulling over a shirt, I dropped Marie a text.
Another problem. I shouted at her....
She emerged from the washroom.
"Ahem." I coughed falsely.
She looked at me.
"You're so tiny, little girl." I flashed my whites.
She studied me.
"Any problem?"
I asked.
"No. Actually my grandma once said that I should never borrow a bottom wear from any other guy than my husband. I borrowed them from Phill and Matt but the ones they never wore.So that's why..." She fiddled with her fingers.
"I'm here. You want to marry me again or not. I'm here." I walked upto her and pulled her with me.
"Lay down." I said and she got into the covers. I adjusted them and then myself got into them.
"Lyn you are sure that you're not angry? I.."
"Uh uh! Shh." She muttered as she stared into her phone.
"What is this?" I asked as I peeped into her phone like an immature lad.
An ill mannered one.
"Just texting Mia. She'll be asleep though." She said as she typed. I closed my eyes as I rubbed my nose on her cheek.
"I missed you." I whispered.
She smiled but remained quiet.
"Good night." She yawned as she turned off the lamp.
>>>
She pulled the blanket over her head.
His bed smelt like him.
He replied and then turned the lamp on his side off. His strong arms wrapped around my stomach tightly, pulling me towards him.
I tried to calm down the unusual happy turmoil in my stomach.
Argument and consensus later, I closed my eyes.
"You're comfortable I guess." He mumbled.
"What timing? Should've asked in the morning." I replied sarcastically.
"I wanted to ask it as at a moment when even if you want to leave, you can't." He smirked against my hair.
^^^
I shuffled as I felt someone's hand around me. How can I sleep so unconsciously?
Lyn.
Oh! The events came back.
I opened my eyes. The little light from the window made her silhouette clear. She was sleeping silently. I tucked her covers properly and then pulling her closer I slept at peace.
The alarm clock made me open my eyes. Seriously people? You know people sleep so perfectly that they are woken up by mere sun rays. And here I am. Even the clock is willing to give up. Alarm and I have a competition. Who can be least affected? It when I swear at it or me when I sleep undisturbed even when it's ringing in my head.
I shut it.
I tried to get away from the handsome man's grip. It was for the first time that I'd slept hugging a guy the whole night. I would either kick Andy or he would himself leave the bed. I irritated with my 'all space is mine' attitude. But still. He's the first person whom I ever had such strong liking for.
I cringed. What if I really hit him while sleeping?
I tried to wiggle out. He pried open his eyes frowning.
Studying me for a moment, he pulled me back, put my head on his arm which wrapped around me from back. His other hand was folded under his neck. He pulled me close and then shut his eyes.
I kept staring at him. He looked so cute. I mean the way he apologised last night. I wasn't angry but my heart melted.
"Done admiring me?" He asked.
I closed my eyes.
"I wasn't admiring you. I was his thinking that how you look in lizard form. Lizardman." I joked.
I turned my face towards her. "Beware." I laughed.
"Let me get up. I'll freshen up." She said.
I shook my head.
"Please." She said.
"But back here." I conditioned.
She nodded. She came back sometime later and I went in for my turn. It was half past seven.
I smiled at his back as he went inside the washroom. I checked my texts. Mia was being completely irrational.
His phone rang. It was from an unknown number.
"Velvet." I heard her voice.
"Phone." She spoke.
"Shall I attend?"
"Hmm."
"Hello?"
"You fool? Where are... Hello?" The female voice boomed.
"Who is this?" We both spoke.
"Maam it's you who called. " I reminded.
"First answer me. Who are you? What are you doing with Steve's phone?" She hollered. "Excuse me? I'm his girlfriend." Now I got agitated. Who the hell does she think herself to be? Queen Elizabeth?
"Oh hello? You pathetic excuse of a woman. Stay away from him. He's my boyfriend." She spoke. So bitches need lessons.
"Shut up bitch. Enough of your drama. He's not your boyfriend. He's my boyfriend. And I know he can not cheat on me. Stop your bitchiness." I snapped with conviction.
I was brushing when I heard her shout something. I guessed she was on a call so I continued with my business.
"I'm his girlfriend. No one else. He has just one girlfriend and that's me. Evelyn Stanford ." She spat. Wait. That was my line right? I mean it's not a drama but still .
"Yeah. And who are you?" I asked.
"Didn't I make it clear?"
"Madam I'm Evelyn Stanford." I rolled my eyes as if she could see me.
"Miss Stanford?" The voice asked softly.
"Exactly." I replied. Who was she and why was she doing that?
"I.. I'm sorry. I thought some random girl had taken Steve's phone. I apologise. I.."
"Who is it?" I asked eagerly.
"I'm Marie." She revealed.
A smile made its way on my face followed by embarrassment.
"Gab's mom?" I asked .
She said yes.
"I'm so sorry for calling you that. I didn't know. This jerk didn't save your number. I'm really sorry Marie. And yeah, call me Eve." I apologised.
"Hey it's fine. I did the same. Even I thought it to be someone else. No issues Eve." She said.
"Sure? I didn't know it could be you. He had told me that he'll introduce me to you but I guess he was too busy." I replied.
"Yeah. I love your personality. I'm just so amazed at what I've heard about you. He is head over heels for you." She asserted.
"Thank you so much but I was a bitch to you right? I just got irritated. I really..."
"The world makes you like that sister. Never mind. " She replied.
"And thank you so much for that. I never knew someone would support my relationship so much." I expressed my gratitude.
She laughed.
"You have a brother right? When he gets his girl, you will be just like that. Steve is my all package. He is my best friend, my brother and my father." She replied.
"Can I be included in your little family?" I asked.
"Of course. You're already a part."
"You are beautiful. I've seen you once. " I said having nothing else to say.
"Me? Beautiful? Good sense of humour girl. I'm the messiest person you can ever see."
"I take the credit for being that."
"You look good. Your personality is the best thing about you."
I looked at my nails.
"Marie? Can we meet up?" I asked.
"Sure."
"I'll drop you a text. Tell me when you're free. "
"Alright. Bye. Tell that jerk to talk to me. " I laughed.
"Sure." I hung up.
"You were talking to Marie?" I asked. I'd been leaning on the door for half minute and she hadn't noticed me.
She nodded.
"About?"
"Why haven't you saved her number?" She raised an eyebrow.
"Sometimes Rick uses my phone. I don't want him knowing." I replied walking towards her.
"I called her a bitch because she said she's your girlfriend." She spoke nervously.
"Then?"
"She said she's your girlfriend and I knew you wouldn't cheat on me so I asked her her name. She called herself Evelyn. So then I told her that I'm Evelyn. Then we talked." She rambled.
I smiled at her.
My heart feeling as if she's mine. Like I own her. I've all the rights on her.
He kept staring at me. Smiling and staring.
"What?" I asked.
He again bent down.
"You trust me. See. You do. You just thought you don't." He grinned.
Realisation hit me.
He kissed my hand. I looked away unable to handle his gaze. It did something to me.
"Back in my position." I said as I got into the covers.
She laid down and I hugged her close.
"Velvet. Can you spare some time for me today?"
"Lyn.."
"Just some time."
"Listen..."
"Just half an hour right now? Please? I won't disturb then. Promise." She tightened her hand around me and made a puppy dog face.
"I know I should encourage you to work and work but just for sometime. Even you need to relax." She continued.
"All my life is free for you. The whole day is yours. I might have to work but it's all yours. You don't have to request me to give you time. I'm here as long as you want. A day late in office won't hurt." I smiled down at her.
Her face lit up and she snuggled with me. "My feet are cold. Warm them up." She said like a child.
"You yourself are so hot. Why am I needed?" I winked.
She hit me playfully on my chest.
"Hopeless." She muttered.
"Yeah so that fool offered me his hand." He shook his head as I narrated one of my dates.
"That duffer would ask me what I wanted the moment I touched my hair. I did this..." She touched her hair. ".. what do you want darling? I ignored. Again..' What do you want baby?' Now that was over. I shouted at him at I was neither wearing any undersized clothes nor I looked small. I didn't have the 'date' with him. I avoided those kinds of flatterers from then onwards."She finished.
"You've such good experiences." I laughed.
"What qualities do you want in me?" I asked.
"Do you know how to make a plait?" She asked.
"Plate?"
"No. Hair one?"
"Ahuh." I shook my head.
"Come I'll teach you." I said as I shifted a bit. I parted my hair and then handed him one part.
I showed him how to divide hair into three sections. Then without further delay, I began plaiting them.
I took a look at him and he was just twirling the di-parted hair. I burst out laughing.
"What?" I asked.
"You're so cute." She kissed my cheek.
I tuned towards her, our noses touching. Her smile retreated as she blushed.
I smirked slowly rubbing my hand on her bare back.
Guess what?
There was a knock.
We both sat up.
"****." I swore. She huffed.
I got down from the bed as he advanced towards the door.
"Steve? Why are you so late? And I think I heard a female laughter from your room. Eve isn't there then who is it?" Dad.
Excellent.
"Dad I have some rights over my personal life. I think I'm entitled to privacy rights, ain't I?" I snapped.
"Your indifference towards Eve wasn't enough or what? Had you been normal and took care.."
"Come on dad. I know how to treat my wife. It's personal." I snapped back again.
"Steve you ought to be ... Who's there?" He tried to peep.
"Daddy it's me." She intervened.
His mouth formed an 'O' as he gaped at us, embarrassed.
"Oh sorry. I didn't know.. I mean you weren't there last night so I thought that.. I'm sorry." He rambled.
She smiled at him and nudged me.
"No issues dad. She makes random plans." I replied making it less awkward.
"Yeah." He studied her.
She smiled reassuringly.
"Sorry to disturb." He muttered and turned to leave.
"It's alright." I spoke as I locked the door.
I turned and saw her eyes narrowed to slits.
"You jerk. Why did you say that?" I hollered.
"I'd to get over the awkwardness."
"So you blamed it on me?" I folded my arms.
He did the same and made a pensive expression.
Then nodded.
"You wanted to know what Wholeglass meant?" I nodded.
"It meant *******" She giggled. I rolled my eyes.
"Yup. You're an *******." She ran.
I followed and soon we were on the bed, laughing again like maniacs as I tickled her.
"Aren't my parents too nosy?"
She laughed:
"You make them. Should've looked for a girlfriend yourself."
"What is the worst thing about me Velvet?" She asked softly, edging closer as I snuggled with her.
"You want to know?" I looked at her. She nodded eagerly.
"You are unpredictable and a little too over reactive. When you are expected to overreact, you don't like last night. But when you are supposed to be alright, you overreact." I said truthfully.
"I know right?" She replied bursting into hysterics.
"You do not mind that right?" I asked turning towards her.
"Nope."
"Lyn. I really did not want to shout..."
"Velvet! Why don't you get over it? It was alright. I forgot about it. I have anger issues too. I know how guilty you must be feeling." She said plopping on the bed by her stomach.
"I just can not look at you without thinking about it." He looked at me, his eyes awkward.
"Velvet. Oh goodness. " I raised myself into a sitting position, back resting against the headrest.
"It is past. Get over it. I know how it feels. I am not angry. You can be whatever you are, with me. I like transparency in romantic relationships. I was never into a relationship because I was not comfortable enough with anyone. Andy and Matt were different. They are not my type material. But being in a relationship, for me is understanding each other. It is giving an atmosphere to each other wherein we can talk our mind. And I just feel it with you. You respect me and that is what I like the best. I just need trust, loyalty, respect and understanding. Okay? " I told him.
I gazed into her eyes. Slowly shifting, I put my head on her shoulder, hugging her tightly.
"Yes or no Mr Jayce?" She said kissing my forehead.
"Whatever you say Miss Stanford."
"Hmm. The response is good. I like it."
"Were not you meant to?"
"Who knows?"
I shook my head.
This woman is going to be the end of me.
A beautiful and lovely and happy and deserving one.
The world had never felt this beautiful as his arms. What was this happening to me?
"My Girlfriend." I smiled at her giggling self.
"My Wholeglass." I laughed as he glared.
----------------------------------------------
Hey berries! How are you people? And how was the chappie? Hope you liked it!
How's everything? Huh?
I know.. I know. I was little sad over someone's death. It was very unfortunate and as much as I try, I can't stop thinking about the person.
Plus.. Friendship day and a few more events.... Took my time.
The story is near end though. A little more cheesiness and then you can finally get over it.
Thank you once again to all the people who are always so supportive and sweet. Please keep supporting.
Thanks for reading.
