THE NEXT DAY

I woke up and slowly got out of bed. I grabbed my holster. Normally I would leave it on my table. But now because of what is going on, I need it with me at all times. I walked outside and saw Lauren running up to me.

"Have you seen Ana anywhere?" Lauren said.

"No, why?" I asked.

"She was meant to take watch. She's not there" Lauren said.

"Shit" I said.

"What?" Lauren said.

"If she's not here she could of gone out to Crafers. She seemed really pissed off at the decision" I said.

"No she will be around here. She's got to be" Lauren said.

"And if she isn't. We have to get ready" I said.

Lauren and I split up to look for Ana. I looked everywhere. I couldn't find her. I started to sweat a little bit. If she went to Crafers Alpha might release her horde on us. If she does that this place is gonna fall. Nothing could stop that many zombies.

Lauren and I meet up again. She looked worried. She stopped and looked at me. I could tell she couldn't find Ana.

"I have to go after her" I said.

"I'll come. I'll go ask Gabriella as well" Lauren said.

"Ok. I'll meet you at the front gate" I said.

I saw Samantha on the way playing with her tea cups again. I got on my knees and put my hand on her head.

"I'll be back. I'm going out. I love you" I said.

"Ok. I love you too" Samantha said.

I gave Samantha a kiss on her forehead. I stood up and walked to the front gate. I looked up at the guard tower and saw Isabella on guard. Because Cooper is now dead we have had to change the roles around.

"Thank you Isabella. For taking over Coopers job" I said.

"All good. I'm happy to help" Isabella said.

I looked up at everyone walking around the oval, waiting for Lauren and Gabriella to come.

"Sam?" Isabella said.

I looked up at Isabella.

"If we don't fight these people are we gonna at least try. I mean, they can't just get off free and live. We have to do something" Isabella said.

"I'm trying, ok. I can't lose another person. I can't. I'm trying" I said.

Isabella nodded. "I know you are"

I saw Lauren and Gabriella walking over to me.

"Alright were ready to go" I said getting onto a horse.

Now that Ana stayed we have her horses here so we can all have our own horse. Lauren got onto a horse and Gabriella got onto a horse. Isabella opened the gate and Gabriella, Lauren and I rode out. Lauren ride in front of me.

"Do you think she went to Crafers?" Lauren asked.

"That's where we are heading. It's the only place I would think she would go" I said.

I looked back at Gabriella.

"How's your stab wound?" I asked.

"It's good now. The fair helped me a lot to get off my feet, and move around" Gabriella said.

"What are we gonna do when we get to Crafers. We can't cross into it because we will go into Alphas territory" Lauren said.

"We aren't going in. We can just ride past and hope we can spot her" I said.

As we were riding I spotted a bag on the road. I quickly rode up to it and got off of my horse. I picked up the bag and checked it. It was Ana's bag. It had food and a bottle of water in it. I held the bag up.

"This is Ana's bag. She wouldn't of just dropped it. She might of ran into a few Zombies" I said.

"Or Whisperers" Lauren said.

"We have to hope that's not true" I said.

Gabriella looked sad while she was on her horse. I think she misses Anastasia a lot. I put the bag onto my horse and got back on. We continued to ride down the road making it to the beginning of the freeway. I saw five Zombies up ahead.

"Check their hands. They may be Whisperers" I said.

I jumped off my horse and took out both of my knives from my holsters. I looked at the first Zombies hands. They didn't have a knife on them so I took it out. The second one was walking weirdly. I looked at its hands and noticed that they were cleaner and weren't decayed. I quickly ran at him as the Whisperer grabbed a knife. I kicked him over and stabbed him in the brain. There were three more. They all grabbed their knives out as both Lauren and Gabriella walked up beside me holding their weapons.

"you die now" one of them whispered looking at me.

The three of them split up. One of them went after Gabriella, one of them went after Lauren and the other went after me.

I went to stab him but I missed and he quickly pushed me to the ground. I grabbed at the Whisperer and got a hold of his head. I pulled off his mask and threw it away. He fell to the ground and I quickly crawled back and stood up.

"You die" I said.

I looked over at Lauren and Gabriella who both had the upper hand. I looked back at the Whisperer who attacked me and looked into his eyes.

"nice to see you again, sam" The person whispered.

I looked closely as he smiled. It was Mr. Harris. He was still alive.

"Mr. Harris?" I said.

In the corner of my eyes I saw both Lauren and Gabriella take out the two Whisperers.

"that's not my name anymore. i'm beta now" Mr. Harris said.

He looked at me and smiled. He then ran at me. I quickly dodged him and pushed him over. As he fell over he quickly stood up.

"you can't beat us. so stop trying" Mr. Harris said.

All of a sudden a large group of Whisperers came out of nowhere from the forest around the freeway. There were about five to six of them all looking straight at us. I looked at both Gabriella and Lauren.

"leave while you still have the chance" Mr. Harris said.

We all got onto our horses and quickly rode off. There were a lot of them. Probably even more.

"They have her" I said.

"What do we do?" Gabriella asked.

"Where not going into their territory. We have to go back. We just need to hope Ana is ok" I said.
