Night 5: Trapped

Onyx grabbed the small weapon that The gem had left and squeezed it tight. It slowly started cracking in his grasp. A loud boom was heard outside causing Steven to look out into the wasteland. His gaze sharpened as he saw gems destroying everything. Most of them had vibrant green eyes that occasionally glowed.

"Guys... For some reason gems are destroying the buildings!" Steven announced. The gems explored the wasteland and a group of them started coming closer to the building they were in.

"If they come closer and find us we have the chance of being killed or taken to where Leafa is," Sapphira sighed leaning against a wall.

"I'm taking the chance of being taken to where Leafa is," Spirita mumbled while wiping the tears on her eyes. She looked at Chris with a small smile thanking him for his hospitality.

"I'll take it too!" Chris smiled grabbing onto to Spirita's hand. "Raise your hand for who wants to follow us," Chris stated. The room was silent for a few seconds. Steven jolted his hand into the air. Sapphira did the same, and she was soon followed by Onyx. Chris and Spirita made eye contact with worry and fear in their eyes. They let off a weak smile and turned back towards their small army.

"Well let's move out!" Spirita yelled running towards the door. Everyone summoned their weapons and ran out with her.

-------

"Happy?" A voice mumbled looking at a glowing screen. Her voice was like she had a cold, but she didn't. She had Dorito hair and green skin. Her body looked like it was only a machine. Her fingers were floating in the air as they whizzed across the computer. A orange gem walked towards the green Dorito with something in her hands. She threw the body on the floor making sure to add a little kick.

"Just do your part Peridot!" The gem ordered her voice going rasp. Peridot groaned and started mumbling words that The gem couldn't hear. Peridot brought up a big screen and pressed a button. It brought a picture of the body's profile and her DNA. Peridot redesigned the DNA a little bit and changed the body's clothes. With just a tap of a button, the lifeless body on the floor rose almost instantly. She had on a black dress with green lines on the sleeves. She had poofy black hair and her name was supposed to be Leafa. Peridot grasped the body and clutched it in her arms.

"Summon your weapon," Peridot ordered. Leafa summoned her discs and Peridot grunted. "Weak weapons I see. We'll have to fix that!" She stated throwing Leafa onto the floor. With a few zaps and taps of a button Leafa summoned a gem blaster and shot for Peridot. Peridot dodged. A giggle erupted from the door and Peridot smiled.

"I remember fighting her. Such fun it was," Moonstone sighed playing with Leafa's hair. Peridot snickered remembering the rebels struggle. "I still can't believe they cut a strand of my hair! I look so ugly don't I Peri?" She laughed. Her laugh sounded like a maniac. Her pupils grew small and her smile etched to the far ends of her face.

"Moonstone I would wish that you would shut your mouth. You look beautiful!" Peridot groaned. Moonstone went back to normal before walking in circles around Peridot.

"I hope they're having a good time," she muttered kicking Leafa at her shins. Leafa's knees buckled underneath her and she fell. "What happened with you and Jasper, hm?" She whispered in Peridot's ear. "Those rebels? You became traitors? Or did Yellow Diamond deactivate your ship?" Moonstone said through her teeth. She kicked Peridot in the stomach before summoning her weapon. She held it on Peridot's gem with a sick blood thirsty smile. Peridot went from complimenting her to muttering her will under her breath.

"Moonstone stop it! Yellow diamond would rage war against Blue diamond if you killed me!" Peridot cried. Moonstone rolled her eyes.

"Like their aren't a million of you? Yellow diamond would thank me for removing some of the trash in this star system," She spat in Peridot's face. Moonstone backed up and looked at Leafa. "I remember fighting you. You little brat. You didn't even put up a good fight," She stated once again, repeatedly kicking Leafa in the stomach. Leafa soon began to cough up blood and tears streamed down her face.

"S-stop!" Leafa yelled. Moonstone stopped in her tracks, amusement written all on her face. "I don't want to remember that! I don't want to remember being a traitor!" She screamed shooting Moonstone with her gem blaster right in the gem. Moonstone stood in awe as she fell to the ground. Peridot screamed in shock while holding Moonstone in her arms. Leafa's eyes were now green, and her gun was now pointed towards Peridot. Moonstone was barely breathing and her gem was halfway cracked. Her body was transforming at an unusual pace in Peridot's arms. Peridot dashed into the corridor and grabbed her arm to call the last person that could help.

------------

Steven kicked the rocks while searching for the gem base. He wanted to cry. He wanted to scream. He couldn't show that right now. The crystal gems were no where to be found. His human friends were gone. The half human gems were battered and hungry, and Leafa was gone. His gem glowed and the glow went into his watch. Everyone stopped walking and stared at Steven. Without another glance, His watch came to life with a message. Peridot... It was a 3D image of her and she was running with an ice cube, no! A doll? Now it was a bag? She looked at the screen with panic written on her face.

"Steven! I know how bad I treated you, but help! L-Leafa! S-she's on a rampage. She's going after the diamonds! She is so strong and hit Moonstone's gem! A-A-" She was cut off from something falling in the background in which she screamed.

"Where is Leafa!" Spirita yelled. Peridot looked at the screen with a smug look.

"Don't think you can do any of that dramatic cliche crap and save her! She hates you guys! She hates everything! She wants to control! Oh my diamond please help us!" Peridot mumbled the last part. Before Steven could reply, Peridot fell to the ground. A girl's feet walked over to the side of Peridot. She bent over with a smile. It was Leafa. She didn't look like Leafa. Yes she had the looks, but the way her eyes looked at Peridot. The way she moved. They weren't her. "Come to the big tower at the odd gem base and stop her. Oh my diamond! Help!" Peridot yelled before she was poofed. Her body parts lay on the ground including the communicator. A large figure stood with Leafa.

"You do not beat up my gems! Only I can do that you filthy traitor!" The voice boomed.

"Yellow diamond... This empire is not good enough. I feel like it's time for a change. It's time for you to die...," Leafa grinned while getting up. Just like that, an epic battle began and the communicator broke leaving the kids confused and scared. What had happened to their friend?
