Chapter Two - Story And Song
After meeting Talia, Pan helped the Argonauts set up for the week long field trip. Talia pitched in. Some of the Argonauts took the opportunity to get to know Talia.
Midoriya: So Talia, what's your Quirk?
Talia: My what?
Kirishima: You know! A Quirk!
Talia was left confused by this. She had never heard of a Quirk before in her life. Pan quickly notices this and steps in.
Pan: A Quirk is a natural ability.
Talia: Like my magic?
Pan: Not quite. Your magic was something I taught you. Take young Kirishima for example, his Quirk allows him to harden his skin like stone!
Talia: Oh! Well I guess my Quirk is called Siren.
Yaoyorozu: Siren? Like in Greek Mythology?
Pan: Precisely! With the power of voice and song, she can entrance people! Perhaps a demonstration is in order! Young Bakugo? Would you please assist us?
Bakugo: Ha! Like that shit is gonna effect me! If anything, it's put me to sleep!
Pan: We'll see about that. Talia? Demonstrate.
Talia prepared her voice to demonstrate her Quirk. She hesitated for a moment and looked at Pan. He nods in approval. After a brief moment of silence, Talia begins vocalizing as she activates her Quirk. All were moved by the beauty of the song except Bakugo.
Bakugo: Is that all you.....
But before Bakugo could finish, he was entranced by Talia's voice. She gestured to him and he began walking towards him. His eyes glowed pale gray. As Talia's vocalizing grew louder, Bakugo moved closer to him. Eventually, Bakugo was close to her.
Talia(Singing): Come to me......
Bakugo looked like someone who found the greatest love that could be found. Eventually, Talia stopped singing. As she does so, Bakugo was free from Talia's control.
Bakugo: What the fuck? What the fuck just happened?! How the fuck did I get here?!
Kirishima: Talia just completely took control of you with her singing Bakubro!
Yaoyorozu: Talia.....that was beautiful....
Talia: T...thank you.....
Pan put his hand on the shy Talia's shoulder.
Pan: Truly splendid!
Jiro: Is she an actual Siren?
Pan: In a manner of speaking yes. She is a descendant of Sirens.
Bakugo scoffed off this display. Pan simply chuckled at it reminded him of not only his former Argonaut teammate Achilles, but the war god Ares himself.
Jiro: So are we gonna train today Pan?
Pan thought about his answer. While he could begin the training, he decided against it. To him, he had plenty of time to do the training. For now, he believed they deserved the rest.
Pan: We'll begin the training tomorrow. You all deserve the rest!
Pan and Talia begin setting up a celebration of sorts. It looked like a stage. As they did, Talia began talking with Pan.
Talia: It's so good to have you back!
Pan: The feeling is mutual little Talia! What do you think of the new Argonauts?
Talia: They're nice! Except maybe Bakugo......
Pan: They all have potential to become great heroes! Much like the Argonauts of old, these new Argonauts shall rise from the ashes of the old!
Afterwards, Pan and Talia gathered all the Argonauts for what seemed to be a concert. Jiro was the first to notice this.
Jiro: Are you putting together a concert?
Pan: More or less. Since you were all moved by Talia's voice, I decided that it would be nice to set up a musical event!
Pan then pulls out his Syrinx and began tuning it. As he does so, the Argonauts notice the lack of speakers.
Midoriya: Where's the speakers?
Pan: This particular place has wonderful echo!
Pan demonstrates by playing a note from Syrinx. The note echoes throughout the area. Hearing this amazes the Argonauts. Even Bakugo was impressed.
Pan: In my.....younger years, I've written a song about the love that bore these pipes.....
Jiro: Oh no.....
Yaoyorozu: Pan.....
Yaoyorozu and Jiro knew exactly what this was leading to. They remembered Pan's story of the Sea Nymph he loved and how it ended tragically.
Pan: I wrote this song for her. And Talia shall assist me.
Pan began playing his while Talia vocalized. The song was a sad tale regarding Pan's lost love with the Sea Nymph. They were all moved to tears by the beautiful sorrow of the song. Even Bakugo was teary eyed at times. Meanwhile, a shadowy female figure watched from a distance.
Shadowy Figure: Pan.....your time shall come soon.....and with your end, the world shall shortly follow.....
The figure disappears in a cloud of smoke as she lays an unheard warning to the Satyr. Back with the Argonauts, Pan and Talia continued to play the song. They had never heard a song so beautiful yet tragic at the same time. The music they heard was something that couldn't be put into words. When the song ended, all of the Argonauts were speechless.
Midoriya: Pan.....
Pan then wiped a few tears from his eyes. Playing that song brought back sorrowful memories from the day he lost his love to tragic circumstances. Despite this, he maintained his smile.
Pan: I think that's enough story and song for the day. Rest up Argonauts! Your training begins tomorrow!
As the Argonauts went to their sleeping quarters, Pan took Talia to her bed and tucked her in.
Talia: Goodnight Pan!
Pan: Goodnight my little Talia!
Pan then kissed Talia's forehead as she drifted off to sleep. As he exited her room, Pan smiled to himself as he awaited the opportunity to train both the Argonauts and Talia while unaware of the looming threat coming his way.
