Chapter Six - Dark Vision
After the attack from Calypsa, Talia wakes up and finds herself in a black abyss. As she gets up, she begins walking around. Lost and confused, Talia begins calling out.
Talia: Hello? Is anyone there?
As Talia walked through the darkness, lightning cracked the sky and lit up the darkness. As it did, two figures begin talking. One was a man and the other was a woman.
Man: Anya! Listen to reason! These powers you wield is too dangerous for anyone!
Anya: No Charos. This power will allow us to become one! To be together forever!
As the two aberrations spoke, Talia had heard both those names before. Despite this, she couldn't remember why she knew those names.
Charos: This power will only lead to tragedy! I've seen what this power can do from the Blacktongues!
Anya: You are no longer one of the my love! We can use this power for good. To hell with what Pan says!
As Anya said that, both aberrations faded away, leaving Talia confused. All she could do was keep on walking. As she did, lightning flashed once more. As it did, aberrations of Anya holding a wounded Charos.
Anya: No.....no! Hold on my love! I won't let you die!
Charos: Anya.....think of our daughter......think of Talia.....
Upon hearing that, Talia's heart dropped. She soon realized that she was looking at her parents. As Charos died in her arms, Anya began crying.
Anya: Charos? Charos! Stay with me! Please....please!
As Anya pleaded to Charos, an aberration of Pan soon stood over Anya. He placed his shoulder over Anya's.
Pan: Anya...I.....
Anya then turned around and confronted Pan with hate and tears in her eyes.
Anya: This is your fault Satyr! You knew the Blacktongues would come after him, yet you did nothing!
Pan: There is more to this than you realize.....
Anya: No! I will not hear any more of your lies! I will have my vengeance!
Anya then unleashes her Siren abilities to attack Pan. As Anya attacked Pan, the aberrations faded away. Suddenly, the spirit of Calypsa appeared before Talia.
Calypsa: There is more than you realize girl. More than the Satyr will reveal.
Talia: Who are you?
Calypsa: You really don't know? Open your eyes girl. There are things you do not know about. Things that Pan refuses to tell you.
Talia: What do you mean? What things?
Calypsa: You will soon find out girl. And when you do, will you still have faith in him? Or will you take your rightful place at my side? Perhaps you'll kill him to avenge all he's done to you.
Before Talia could question Calpysa, her spirit then transformed into a giant monster the loomed over Talia. Fear completely gripped her as she was frozen in fear.
Monster: Embrace your destiny.....
Talia: No....no....NO!
As the monster reached out to grab her, Talia woke up in her bed sweating profusely and screaming.
Midoriya: Talia! Are you okay?!
Talia: M....Midoriya? What....what happened?
Yaoyorozu: We were attacked by Calypsa. We were able to push them back thanks to you.
Bakugo: Oh please! I had those fucking losers on the run!
Before anyone could respond to Bakugo's comments, Pan entered the room wearing a smile on his face.
Pan: I see you're awake young Talia!
Talia: Pan?
As Talia tried to get up, she felt slight pain in her side.
Pan: Don't strain yourself Talia.
Talia: What happened Pan?
Pan: While we were fighting Calypsa's undead creatures, you unleashed a great power unlike anything I've seen before.
As Pan recounted the events from earlier, Talia's mind was still on the vision she had. Pan could tell something was bothering Talia.
Pan: Talia? Is something the matter?
Talia: I....I saw a vision.
Jiro: A vision? What kind of vision?
Talia: I saw my parents.....Anya and Charos.
Upon hearing that, Pan's smile dropped.
Pan: What did you see?
Talia: I saw visions of the past. My mother and father arguing. And then I saw my mother cradling my father as he....as he.....
As Talia tried to finish her sentence, Pan placed his hand on her shoulder and sat beside her.
Pan: It's all right Talia. It's all right.....
Talia: I saw Calypsa...she was talking about how there were things about me. Things that you've never told me.
Kirishima: She's probably lying! There's no way Pan would keep secrets of any kind!
Despite Kirishima's words, Pan remained silent.
Pan: I'm afraid she's not Kirishima. I hoped I never had to tell you this.
Midoriya: What do you mean?
Pan: A long time ago, I taught a woman named Anya. She was a Siren. While I was training her, there was an attempt on her life by a Blacktongue Assassin named Charos. But instead of going through with it, the two fell in love and he abandoned the Blacktongues.
Jiro: So a Blacktongue assassin fell in love with a Siren? Guess that's kinda sweet....
Talia: What does Calypsa have to do with my parents? What happened to my parents?
Pan was silent for a moment. He was about to reveal a secret that he kept from Talia nearly all her life.
Pan: Things....things happened beyond my control. And to my everlasting shame, I failed to stop what occurred on that day. I failed Anya and Charos. But most importantly, I failed you Talia.
Pan braced himself for reliving the day he failed Anya and Charos. While Pan prepared himself, Talia and the Argonauts waited to see how Calypsa was connected to Talia's parents. They were unprepared for the tragedy that awaited.
