Round 2
Me and David make our way down the hallway, back to the same room we last saw who I'd be fighting in round 1. As we turn the corner, I look at the screen. My heart drops when I see who I'll be fighting.
004 versing Guillotine.
"Well, it could be worse." David sighs reluctantly, looking down at his shoes.
"I guess you're right." I agree, trying to have a somewhat positive attitude.
"Security said the arena has been changed for round 2. I think they said now there's a source of water in it. Just remember, whatever you do; don't touch water. You're a machine, and wires and circuit boards don't go well with liquids." He says seriously.
"Right, why didn't you say anything before?" I ask.
"I forgot, at least you didn't need to know it in round 1. And one more thing, I believe Guillotine has a water proof shield that prevents water from damaging him, it also heals some of the cuts in his frame. It'll look like a small box of some sort." He says. Suddenly the guards come to escort me to the same room I went in before last round. Before I leave though, David calls, "Be careful!"
As I enter the same small room, the gates slowly open and the light shines in my eyes again. Except instead of an empty rink, there's now a small forest...with a river running through it. That's what he meant by changing the arena. Suddenly a dark figure leaps up to one of the tree branches.
"So you're 004..." His deep voice calls as he adjusts his pose. His silhouette casts a shadow over me, allowing me to see him, "...I must say that I'm impressed by your performance in the first round....but I'm afraid that kind of luck simply won't be enough to get you through round 2. But don't worry, I'll make you death quick and silent." He laughs, smirking to himself. The crowd cheers as his face appears on a huge screen in the seats. He blows a kiss at the camera, and the crowd goes insane. I roll my eyes and pull out my gun, changing the settings to disintegrate. Next I lean down on one knee and aim for his head. I pull the trigger but he notices me at the last second and bounds off the tree branch down to the ground, "For a second there, I almost thought you might actually hit me."
"For a second there so did I." I say, a bit scared by how close he is. He slowly walks up to me, standing a mere foot away from my gun. Then, without warning, he removes his katana from its sheath and cuts clean through my gun. I stand in shock as I hold the two pieces of metal in my hands. He just looks at it in satisfaction, pleased to see me loose my weapon. Then he proceeds forwards to me, gliding his hand across my arms as he circles behind me. Suddenly he whips his katana up towards my neck, pressing it against my throat.
"Oh my dear, dear girl, why didn't you run when you had the chance?" He whispers in my ear.
"Because I don't need to." I pull out my two swords and shove them into his chest. He gasps in pain, removing the sword from my throat and falling back against a tree trunk. I turn and walk over to him, then I pull both swords out of his chest.
"W-Who do you think you are?!" He chokes out, covering the holes in his chest with his hand.
"Like you said before, my name is 004," I say as I see him try to get up, so I pull the trigger on the ice sword, freezing his legs, "I was built from a simulator by David Falcon," Next I use the fire sword and press it against his neck, burning the metal. He flinches in pain, I remove my sword, "And you're right, luck's not going to get me through this. Because I don't need luck." He finally breaks through the ice and grabs his katana.
"Fine bitch." He holds the katana with both hands, "Let's see just how much you don't need luck." Suddenly his wounds start to close and the metal reforms. Then he lunges towards me, I try to dodge but I'm not fast enough. The sword clips the side of my neck, leaving a divot below my chin. He doesn't stop there though, next he runs behind me, sliding his sword across my back, cutting through the metal and exposing most of the important wires and gears. I bet if he gets another swing at my back I'll be through. Something catches my eye on his chest. A small black metallic box. I immediately know what that it. His shield, preventing him from getting hurt. I now know what I'll be aiming for. I press the button on the fire sword, aiming at him. It's a direct hit, but it only stuns him, knocking him backwards into the water, "You do realize water won't hurt me right." He smirks as I lean over him, pointing the tip of my sword towards him.
"I don't know, it might without this." Suddenly I pierce the sword straight through the box. His eyes fly wide open, but before he can do anything, the shield fails and the water quickly penetrates the metal plates. He makes one last effort to do something but soon his eyes shut and he turns cold.
I turn on my feet and walk towards the gate I entered through. I meet up with David and I head back to the operating room to fix my wounds. He helps me lay down on my chest so the engineers can fix my back.
"You aren't saying anything-" I say but before I can finish he reaches down and holds my hand.
"I'm just happy that you're alive," He looks down at me and smiles, "Because if you weren't, it would've meant that I never got to hold your hand."
