Julian x Stressed! Reader

You drank a shot the bartender gave you as fast as he gave it to you. "You feeling ok, royal magician?" The bartender asked as he decided to just give you the bottle. "I'm... fine..." You barley say without choking down a sob. No. You weren't fine. You were the oppisite.

The countess wanted you to work with her and you felt that you couldn't say no. You had a younger brother who can't barley shuffle the cards, let alone defend himself. You've been pushing your limits just so your brother's safety was ensured.

"Alright. Every drink on the house for you. Looks like you need it." You pulled the hood over your head lower so it'd cover your face more. You knew drinking your pain away was only going to make it worse, but it was your only option. "(Y/N)?" You perked, sitting up straight, as you turned around and pulled the hood down.

Julian, the infamous ex-royal plauge doctor, was standing with his leather jacket in his hands. You knew you looked like a mess. "H..Hey." You greeted, taking a quick swig of your drink. "Um. I didn't think you'd be here today. Or... at all." Julian admitted as he sat next to you.

"Yeah. Me too." You said. You immedtally closed your eyes and leaned into the leather gloved hand that ran through your hair. "(Y/N). What's going on? You've been here enough for me to buy myself out of execution." Julian said.

"...I can't take the stress. Solving the case, teaching (b/n) magic, my own well-being, the countess's expectations..." You said. Julian felt his heart break at you biting your bottom lip and slowly starting to cry again. Julian pulled you closer as you rested your forehead on his collar bone.

"I-I'm so-" "Don't you dare say sorry. Just let it out. It's ok." You hiccuped before just sobbing into Julian's button down shirt. Julian held you as Portia and (B/n) rushed in. "There you are, (Y/n)!" Portia said as (B/n) stood next to her.

"I saw your note and did what you wanted. Are... are you doing ok?" Portia asked as (B/n) seemed to be holding a cloth covered treated. "I..I could be better..." You whimpered as Julian rubbed your shoulder. "I asked the chefs to make you're favorite." (B/n) said as he placed your favorite dessert on the table.

"Th..Thank you bro..." You said, trying to tough this out. "(B/n) and I are going shopping. Think you can stand Ilya a bit longer?" Portia said as Julian huffed. You nodded before watching the two walk away. (B/n) waved bye as you looked at Julian.

"Th..Thanks for... letting me cry on your shirt." Julian smiled as he kissed your cheek. "Of course. Now, how about you eat the treat (B/n) brought you?" You did as Julian suggested while letting Julian take a couple bites.

"Portia? I thought we were going shopping. Why are we watching my sister and Ilya?"

"Just making sure he doesn't try anything while (Y/n) is barley sobber."

"Oh. ... Huh?"

"You'll understand when you're older."
