Prompt #30- "Please Don't Leave me..."

It had been a while Since Mc got their memories back, they got some of the major ones rather quickly but still, some bits and pieces would flood back at random times. This was one of those times.

Yesterday you went to the market to buy some bread, it was fresh and warm still when you brought it back to Muriel. Between him and Inanna, they ended up eating it all that night while you were asleep. So here you are today at the market again to get bread, you dragged Muriel along saying "You at it all so you're helping me get more.". He'd sigh as if he was upset but honestly, he didn't mind as long as you were there.

You stood in line, got your bread and headed out of the shops. Muriel stopped to look at some furs, while he did that you waited. "Mc?" You heard a voice call your name, one familiar and foreign but all the same it caused your stomach to churn.

A man, an unfamiliar man, walked up to you with a smile. "It's been forever MC." He spoke softly with a smile plastered onto his face. As he spoke you felt the memory hit you like a rock.

You were happy together with him, but over time he began getting more distant, the man you had fallen in love with would leave for days on end each time longer and longer leaving behind a man you'd never seen before.

"Your so beautiful." He's back making you feel so happy and loved.

"God you so annoying." And then he's be gone leaving you slightly broken.

Gone and back each time longer until— "I love her not you." He didn't come back to you that time nor ever again...

He left you broken with no one to lean on until you met Asra who tried to get close to you, you tried to let him into your heart like he had let you into his, sure he had become your best friend but you couldn't come to like him like that.

Then you met Muriel and he instantly found his way into your heart.

The flashback was enough to leave you breathless, as you stared at the man who had killed you long before you got the plague.

"I want to apologize... I missed you so bad when I left... Can we start over?" He asked softly, something about the way he said it felt like a trap like he was going to do the same to you again.

You couldn't breathe as you looking for a way out of the situation so you'd never have to see him again.

"Hey, I got the bread..." Muriel rumbled from beside you, you looked up at him, you had not heard him walk up. The man looked at the taller. "Who are you?" Muriel asked, "Ah well... Um... I guess you could say I'm her ex." He began, Muriels gaze became so much more aggressive. You may have forgotten but Muriel never forgot Asra telling him about all the nights you had stayed up crying. "No," Muriel stated.

The man looked dumbfounded. "No?" He asked. Muriel wrapped an arm around your shoulder pulling you close and slightly behind him. His protective presence made your panic subside. The man got what Muriel meant and turned to leave with a slightly agitated look.

Muriel led you home, the journey was silent until you got home and just hugged him. So tightly. Muriel returned it slightly hesitantly. "Please..." you whispered softly, Muriel's ears stood on end to listen carefully to you had to say next.

"Please don't leave me..." you chocked out through as sob. Hearing your strangled cry Muriel crumbled to the floor with you and held you tightly as he whispered back- "I won't, I promise..." he had it on repeat, it wasn't just a way to calm you down it was a promise to himself, Asra, and you— he'd never leave you.
