Main 6 & Courtiers - COVID-19
Hey guys! This is the Main 6 and the Courtiers' reactions to the coronavirus. More of an imagine or a headcanon (sort of) instead of one-shots. IDK what to call it, really. I think I want to do one-shots for at least the main six later.
Remember to stay safe, wash your hands, self-isolate, and stay sane during quarantine season!
*~*~*~*~*
Asra - Scared out of his wits. His initial reaction is to run away again, but he is harshly reminded of what happened the last time. MC died while he was gone. He'd be damned if he wasn't there for them this time. Self-isolating king. Totally fine with limited to no contact with others. That is, until MC, like the wonderful person they are, decides to start working with the ill, meaning he is at greater risk. Instead of pulling away, however, he also decides to help out. He's trying to help doctors, including Ilya, come up with a vaccine, or a cure, or at the very least, a way to slow it down. Asra gets sick but survives COVID-19.
Julian - He's right in there, plague doctor of the century. He's working his ass off day and night, no sleep. When MC offers their help, he immediately refuses. He couldn't bear a repeat of what happened with the Red Plague. He quickly realizes, however, that MC is much too stubborn, and he agrees to let you work as his apprentice once again. MC has to remind him to eat and sleep and come home. He would be happy to stay in isolation, except he has an overwhelming sense of responsibility and can't not work on a vaccine. With MC's help, he eventually comes up with the vaccine to cure the world of this pandemic, but not before they've both caught it. It goes one of two ways. Either MC dies again because they were too severe by the time they had the cure, leaving Julian shattered and feeling guilty, OR, Julian, who had obscured his severe symptoms until the end, dies instead, leaving MC behind, wishing he hadn't been so stubborn and had just been honest.
Nadia - As a leader in all of this mess, she is quick to calm her people, informing everyone that borders are closed, all mass gatherings are prohibited, and that everyone should self-isolate. She is calm and composed in public, but she fears for the world. She allows MC to keep working on a cure, but only after they are outfitted in the best protection gear known to mankind. Nadia is key to keeping the people calm and sane. Neither her nor MC contract the virus.
Portia - In all of this mess, Portia is a whirlwind herself. She is trying to live her best life in quarantine but suffers from severe cabin fever. MC is her only grounding force, as she slowly goes crazy inside her cottage. She struggles with staying sane while cooped up inside for an indefinite period of time. She busies herself with helping Mazelinka cook food for as many people as she can, hoping to help provide some sort of relief without contaminating herself. Portia does get sick, but once Ilya makes up the cure, she's good to go.
Muriel - Absolute king of self-isolation. He hated everyone else anyway. He's got everything he needs, right here in his hut. All the food and necessities have been procured, and he is totally fine with staying indoors at all times. MC is his only concern. They want nothing more than to be out there helping find a cure, or providing aid to those who need it. Muriel begs them to stay inside, and just stay safe. It's all well and good up until the end when Ilya is short of doctors when they're so close to finding a cure. MC can't stay away anymore. Muriel is heartbroken when they leave. He's so full of anxiety for them. They don't come back to the hut, not wanting to pass anything onto Muriel. He misses them so much, it drives him crazy. MC does get sick, and Muriel is terrified. They get the new vaccine and are bedridden for a while with the fever and flu-like symptoms, but they don't die. The entire time, Muriel is dotting on them like crazy. He never gets sick 'cause he's not an idiot and he stayed the f away from all of this.
Lucio - He is the one who bought out all of the damn toilet paper. He wears masks, even though he's not sick, and he uses obscene amounts of hand-sanitizer, even though it's ineffective against COVID-19 because hand-sanitizer is an anti-bacterial, not an anti-viral. This man will NOT listen to reason. He is frantic. He will not allow himself to get sick with another damn plague. MC tried to calm him down desperately but to no avail. He's a big baby, ngl. He has enough food to last him for literal years, while others are trying to eat off of mustard and jam. He's a bit mental. He tries his best to self-isolate, but he misses his parties. He catches a common cold and makes it into a huge ordeal about how he's going to die and that he's doomed (fucking drama queen). This is when he (against MC's better judgment) marches into the hospital to get checked. Negative. Except in his magnificent theatrics, he came in contact with someone who was contagious on the way out and actually did end up really sick. Julian did come through though (although a bit begrudgingly) and gave him the cure.
Valerius - Like Lucio, but less insane. He's fully prepared, but not outrageous. Valerius knows that a disposable mask will not protect him. He is aware that hand washing is the number one thing to do, and while he does miss social hour, he's not going insane in self-quarantine. He is perfectly happy to sit at home, glass of wine in-hand, talking with MC or finding something to do indoors. He is also (for once) helpful to Nadia in keeping the people calm and informed. He gets influenza, and he initially panicked, until doctors tell him that he tests negative for COVID-19. MC takes care of him while he's sick, but he makes a full recovery in no time.
Valdemar - At the heart of all of this crap, there is Valdemar. Ever interested in death and all things pandemic, Valdemar is spearheading the search for the cure, although their real motives are less about curing and more about experimenting. Even though they are always surrounded by the sick, they somehow, miraculously, never catch it themselves. It's their dearest MC they have to watch out for. As MC helps with the research, they become infected and fall deathly ill. Valdemar's once nonchalant and intrigued demeanour quickly changes into one of determination and fear. It is because of their frantic research that a cure is found and MC is saved from death.
Volta - Volta wasted no time in stocking up with food. So, so, so much food. She is perfectly happy to sit at home and eat to her heart's content. She is, however, part of the reason why so many stores are sold out of food. She doesn't leave her house once, and as a result, Volta never gets sick. Gold star in isolation, Volta!
Vulgora - In all of the pandemonium that ensues during a pandemic, Vulgora can be found at the center of it all. They relish in the fear and panic of the world. They spread misinformation about the virus to anyone who would listen. They are all over social media telling lies and instigating panic and mass hysteria. Truly Nadia's worst enemy in a situation like this, Vulgora's lies cause great disturbances. Since they spend all of their time going about scaring people, it's no surprise that they themselves are quick to fall ill with COVID-19. Vulgora doesn't make it out alive.
Vlastomil - Delighting in the pestilence of the pandemic, Valstomil is beside himself during COVID-19's course. Somehow, he is only a carrier for the virus, and he spreads it like wildfire. He refuses to self-quarantine. He's a menace to society. Vlastomil spreads the disease everywhere he goes. His worms are no help to the situation as they make their way through the towns, infecting everyone they come in contact with. LIke Vulgora, Vlastomil is a real thorn in Nadia's side when it comes to securing the public. He is apprehended for research for the cure. While in research, he gets the virus. Suddenly, he wishes he had never spread the damn thing. He lives, but only just barely. He suffers long-term effects for the rest of his slimy life.
