"So, Seokjin.. mind if I call you Jin?-great-how are you doing in school?" My nosy mother cant help but to pry out all of details on Seokjin's school life while we ate, I was worried that he'd feel uncomfortable but he was answering all the questions without hesitation.

"I'm doing well, ma'am, I struggle a bit in math but I otherwise get perfect scores. My parents hired a tutor but she's just too strict for me to grasp the information well." Seokjin sighs and plays with his food a bit, playing the (believable) sad card.

"Oh! Well, why doesn't my Hyeon help you, she can become your new tutor! She's soft spoken and president of the math division at your school! Hyeon, wouldn't it be nice to have your boyfriend around more often?" My mother interlocks her fingers in front of her and eyes the both of us expectantly.

"Mom, Seokjin is not my boyfriend," I felt like today everyone was unreasonably assuming that and it was getting on my nerves, "why would I bring my boyfriend over for a formal dinner?" I role my eyes and take the last bite of my food, bring my boyfriend over for dinner? That's ridiculous!

"Well I just thought you had gotten serious with someone." I cant help but to snort, "Mom, you know the type of guys I get serious with," I look over to Seokjin momentarily, "the type that I'd have to sneak through my window because you'd never approve of them are the types of guys I get serious with, Seokjin's not that."

"Yeah.." My mother sighs and removes her arms from the table, she gets a sudden idea and her eyes light up again. "Maybe not but, will you at least tutor him?"

"Of course. I'm not a monster." My mother and Jin eat their last bites and I speak up the moment they do, "Jin, why don't you head home and we can start our first study session tomorrow?" I offer with a lighthearted smile.

"Sounds good," the three of us stand up from our seats and Jin continues,  "it was a pleasure having dinner with you."

"Come over any time you'd like Jin, you're always welcome," my mother smiles at him and turns to address me while she starts stacking the empty dishes, "dear, show him to the door would you?"

I agree and head over to the front door with him, Jin sighs and lingers around while I open the door for his exit, "I'll text you the details for tomorrow." I lean onto the door and watch and a smirk crawls up Seokjin's face and sends me into spiraling confusion.

"No need," Seokjin excuses, only confusing me more, "Just leave your window open and I'll be up in five."

My eyes go wide at his suggestion, "But it's on the second floor and you need to climb an unstable tree to get there, can you do it?"

Jin scoffs and roles his eyes at my concern, "Are you forgetting who helped who scale the wall earlier?"

I click my jaw in annoyance at his teasing reminder and quickly wave him out the door, "Yeah, yeah, I get it." he follows my waves and leaves, I don't waste another second to slam the door in his face and rush up the stairs. Quickly, I enter my room and fix my makeup before pulling over my shirt and switching out my plain bra for a nicer one, the second I pull my shirt back on and I hear a knock at my balcony door.

Who knows where this is going to go? Might as well be prepared.

I rush over to it and quickly open the door, letting Jin back into my home, as he looks around, I walk over to my desk and flip through my math textbook, "So where do we start? From the beginning or the most recent lesson?"

"Are you kidding me?" Jin looks dead at me and laughs, "I get the highest math scores in class, second to you. I don't need a tutor!"

I knew that already, but why would he set this all up? "Slick," I bluntly respond as I take a seat on my own bed, Jin walks over to me and stands about a foot in front of me, "What do you want then?"

My face flushes red when Seokjin quickly leans foreword. The surprise sends me to lay on my forearms and Jin towers over me with either of his hands on the bed just above my hips, "A date."

"A date?" My eyes go wide and my eyelashes batt in nervousness, I was not used to romance, Seokjin merely nods, "The café, tomorrow at 12pm. I'll pay."

I don't even have to contemplate agreeing or not until I hear his last sentence, I shake my head in disagreement, "I'll only go if you let me pay, I need to pay you back for the arcade games today."

Seokjin only pouts and thinks for a moment before sighing, "Fine, you'll pay." He gets up off of me and I revert to a normal sitting position, "I'lol pick you up at 12 on the dot, don't be late."

I nod my head without hesitation and follow Seokjin back to the balcony door, "Then, it's a date."

"It's a date," he agrees with a heartwarming smile, I send it back to him and he leaves my room, only to turn back around to face me a second later as if remembering something, "By the way," he begins as he reaches over to the tree branch he came in on, "just so you know, for future reference," my eyebrows furrow in anticipate what he has to say, "I like lace better than patterns."

Lace better than patterns?  I think about the phrase in confusion even after I see him jump down the tree and enter his car... lace better than patterns?

I decide to brush it off and just get dressed for the night, I pull off my shirt to change and finally notice the patterned bra I had put on earlier. Holy shit.

My face flushes a bright, intense, red color and my embarrassment overflows... me? Blushing?

This is new.
