This is without a doubt, no competition, my favorite place on earth and I am overcome with happiness the second I enter the beautiful gates of the local arcade.
My town was small and the only place that could be called a "tourist attraction" was this (and even that was a stretch.) Either way, us locals knew the beauty of this retro cafe, established in the 60s and interior maintained all the way up to present day and it's name was none other than "The Arcade."
This place had everything: roller blading, bowling, pool tables, mini golf and so so much more. My personal favorite area was the huge array of video games and I must say, I'm pretty damn good at them.
I make my way around the jukebox and rare framed vinyls, taking in every bit of flavor this place had to offer for the millionth time. I greet the staff that I had met working here my junior year of high school humbly and giving the local kids a small pat on the head as I pass, we had a pretty small community so basically everyone knew everyone here.
I make my way to the rollerblading rink, where dining hall was located and where our senior class president meeting was to be held; when I enter the room, I smile and wave at my fellow schoolmate who was seated at a table on the other side of the room, alone.
"Hyeon, glad you could make it," Seokjin, the senior class creative arts administrator and president, greets with a warm smile, setting his, previously in use, phone down from his hands as I finally find myself in front of his table.
"Hey, Jin," I casually greet with a small smile, taking a seat on a chair at his table and putting my bag on my lap, "I wouldn't miss our first presidential meeting of the year for the world." Jin chuckles slightly at that and I smile watching his eyes light up. I continue to watch as the boy takes a sip of what appears to be either Coke, Dr Pepper or root beer, suddenly getting thirsty myself.
"It's Dr. Pepper."
"Huh?" I look from the drink to Seokjin who eyes me teasingly.
"Your expression said it all, I could see you thinking about it." He giggles and I feel the embarrassment rise to my cheeks, I cover my reddened face and smile with one hand as our laughter comes to a halt.
"Dr. Pepper is my favorite." I finally say with a small smile. The boys eyebrows shoot up and he immediately gets out of his seat; I'm about to follow but he sets a comforting hand on my shoulder and I stay down. "Stay here, I'll get you a drink real quick."
I nod lightly and smile, relaxing back into my chair and watching him go to the bar (where you order if you're not being waited here) and order something from the staff member behind the counter. I avert my attention when I see Jin turn his heel with a glass filled with ice and a can of Dr. Pepper.
"Thank you." I peep as he cracks open the can and fills my glass with it, then topping his cup off with the little still left in it when my glass was full.
"No problem, have you heard anything from the two slackers yet?" Jin watches me take a sip and shake my head "no" stifling a laugh at the way he chose to describe the senior class President and Vice President, Minjae and Eunha.
"I haven't." I respond with a small sigh, "I was hoping you would have."
Seokjin shakes his head just as I had seconds before, "They haven't even responded to my recent texts in the groupchat."
I nod, "I saw, I wonder if they'll show."
"Well, they have to, right?"
I shrug but my verbal response is cut off when Seokjin and I both get alerts to our phones, we look between each other in surprise before opening our notifications.
Well well well, speak of the devil.
Minjae

With a small sigh, I look up from my phone and Jin does the same. "That's a shame." Seokjin notes, "I don't live in town, I made the hour long commute on a Sunday for nothing."
I can't help but notice his adorable pout, making him 10x more attractive that he already was (and that's saying a LOT,) "Sucks man, why don't we stick around together for a while then?"
Seokjin's eyes light up once again and he sits up straight, "You know what, yeah, how about we check out the video games? Winner pays for the next game we play?"
"I can't do that Jin."
"Why?"
"Because then I'll be paying for every game."
Seokjin pauses before abruptly getting up, I follow, "Oh yeah?! Let's see about that!"

On an average day, I would have been head over heels for my high school crush, Kim Seokjin but today, I despised him.
"Ugh!" I smack my hands onto the race-car game console as I lose yet another game to the annoying dude. Seokjin laughs (at me.)
"How far ahead am I again?" Jin teases, "Was our score eight to one?"
"Nine to one now," I mumble, looking away from him in slight protest.
I feel a hand on my shoulder and I tense up, knowing that it's him. My heart beat quickens.
"How about we take a break from the video games and check out the obstacle course then?" Turn my head to the side and see Seokjin's face, about 6 inches away from mine, I jump out of the game chair and stand awkwardly in front of him. Seokjin resides an eyebrow and I speak up before my shyness overpowers me, "Sure, I've never finished it before but it's really fun!"
The two of us begin walking into the direction of the course and Seokjin replies, "Wow, is it really that hard?"
I sigh, "Actually, no. Unfortunately, I'm just too short to jump some of the obstacles."
There's a short silence before Jin erupts into laughter.
