[Jaune's POV]

Who would've thought after protecting that ungrateful bastard known as Cardin from an ursa would've made things go from bad to worse considering that he told everyone about my faked transcripts.

But what blew me away was the fact that Ozpin already knew and he kept me because he saw potential that is sleeping deep inside me. But because of that whole endeavor of me being exposed nearly everyone hated me except for Ruby, Blake, and team CFVY.

It's nice to see some people still care but it doesn't mean that it doesn't hurt knowing that my other friends despised me now including Pyrrha which I don't get considering that I already told her of the transcripts but I guess she was nothing more than a liar.

Today I was meeting up with Ruby to her favorite cookie shop but when I made it outside, I see a bloodied Ruby slumped on a bench covered in cuts and bruises. This was the first time I've ever been truly scared since this isn't my life on the line but one of the most important people in my life.

I ran up to Ruby looking for a pulse, I thanked every possible god and Oum that I found a pulse. Though it's rather weak but I must get her to the infirmary fast!

After running with everything I got while carrying Ruby bridal style I made it to the infirmary and was able to save her.

I then grabbed Ruby's scroll and sent everyone a message that Ruby was in the infirmary and needed to get here quick. Once the message was sent I grabbed my stuff and began to leave the area since I know everyone excluding Blake wants to even be near me.

After leaving the infirmary I took a walk to the cliff where initiation took place so I can calm myself down.

[POV: Blake; Location: Infirmary]

After everyone recieved a message from Ruby's scroll saying that she was injuried pretty badly. Once we heard that we all rushed to the infirmary to check on her only to see that she was out cold.

Yang: Who could've done this...

I to pondered on who did this so I began to ask the nurses on what happened.

Me: Excuse me miss but do you know what happened to patient Ruby Rose

The nurse was trying to recall how Ruby got there in the first place

Nurse: We don't know who did this or why but we do know who brought her though.

That was when Ren pitched in

Ren: Can you tell us who they were?

The nurse then began to think on who the person was

Nurse: I never got his name but he had blonde hair, blue eyes, a sword, a shield, and a chestplate. The poor boy looked absolutely terrified and I couldn't blame him considering that he said that she was his bestfriend and he was ready to meet up with to hangout but he found her bleeding on a bench covered in cuts. The poor boy had to carry her all the way here not even bothering or probably noticed that her blood got on him. That's all that I can say but I did see him begin to walk to the cliff where initiation took place. I'm sorry I couldn't help out any more have a goodnight.

The nurse bowed before walking away. I turned to Yang who looked pissed with her eyes now as red as blood.

Yang: Of course that bastard was involved he just couldn't stay away from Ruby like I told him to and he has the nerve to attack her!

My eyes widen at Yang's accusation and judging by her tone I think I should try and diffuse the situation before she does something rash

Me: Now hold on Yang we can't just say that Jaune did it just because he was involved.

Yang clentches her fist

Yang: Of course that fake was the one who did this he was always jealous of Ruby being so much better than him that he lured her out and attacked her. I mean LOOK AT HER she is riddled with cuts and bruises and the only thing that can cut someone is something sharp and would you look at that the bastard has a FUCKING SWORD THAT'S COVERED IN BLOOD! SO TELL ME BLAKE HOW COULD HE HAVE NOT DONE IT!

Yang raised her voice causing me to flinch and take a step back. Yes she did make valid points and a motive but I know Jaune. He isn't the spiteful and envious person that Yang is trying to make him sound like. Jaune is kind and understanding plus the nurse said that he mentioned Ruby as his "best friend" and knowing Jaune he would put his friends needs first before his own.

Me: And incase you forgotten Yang the nurse said that she was still bleeding in his hands and either didn't realize or ignored that her blood was on him. You say he was jealous of Ruby just because she was better than him! Then that is idiotic of you think that since she is his bestfriend and ONE of the only friends that stayed by his side why you, Weiss, HIS OWN FUCKING TEAM, AND THE ENTIRE OUM-DAMN SCHOOL MINUS THE FACULTY DECIDED TO TURN THEIR BACKS ON HIM!

I ran out of the room to get some fresh air and cool myself off I then stopped running and started to catch my breath after having that outburst. One may wonder why I'm trying to defend a faker and it's because I know an innocent man when I see one. Even after what happened with Adam back when we worked together swearing to never fully trust someone again. And yet there is Jaune who is actually the only person that I fully trust minus Team CFVY.

And to prove to Jaune after Cardin exposed him that I completely trust him...I shared my secret...it's only fair since everyone knows his secret I thought it was time that he knew mine. That I am a faunus and an Ex-Whitefang operative.

I remember that day as if it was yesterday.

[Flashback Start; POV: Blake; Location: Beacon Rooftop]

I can't believe that ungrateful asshole sold Jaune out after Jaune saved his pathetic ass. If I was in Jaune's shoes I would have left that racist bastard to his demise but that shows how much better Jaune is than I am.

But what I find truly appalling is how Yang, Weiss, and the rest of Jaune's team have begun to treat him. Hell even Pyrrha is being a bitch to him and she knew already and accepted him with open arms but it just goes to show how loyal she was for the person she supposedly loves.

I occasionally follow Jaune from time to time in case someone tries to attack him but tonight is different as I followed him I could see the hurt behind his blue eyes that are as deep as the sea. I blush a little and snapped myself back to reality to see that he was heading up to the roof of the school.

My eyes widen as I came to a conclusion and began to sprint up the stairs that lead to the roof.

Me: No...No no no...No no no no no no OUM DAMNIT NO!

Once I made it to the roof I slammed the door open and yelled.

Me: JAUNE!!!

I see a pair of shoes by the edge of the roof...but...not just any shoes...Jaune's shoes...

I then collapse on my knees knowing what that meant and began crying

Me: Oh Oum Jaune...I'm so sorry...*sob*

I closed my eyes and released all my emotions

???: Blake? What's wrong?

My eyes shot open as I looked next to the doorway and see...

...

Jaune in a sleeping bag wearing his usual attire of sleepwear...

That being a baby blue onesie with a bunny face on his chest

I ran up to him and hugged him for dear life, crying into his chest.

Me: Y-*hic*You stupid i-idiot

I looked up at him with tears still streaming down my eyes. He looked surprised since I rarely ever show my emotions

Jaune: Well whatever happened that might involve me hasn't happened so don't worry Blake...I won't be going anywhere soon.

He then hugs back.

I felt safe in his arms and I can't help but blush.

Me: J-Jaune...can...can I tell you a secret?

He then looks down and smiles at me

Jaune: Of course you can tell me anything. We're friends after all.

I don't know why but it hurt a little being called his friend. But I still feel good being his friend it just feels like my chest was aching.

Me: Okay Jaune just...just promise not to hate me.

He then tilts his head in confusion.

Jaune: I don't know why I would need to make a promise like that since I could never hate you but I promise not to hate you.

I then break from the hug and took a step back. I then started removing the bow on the top of my head and revealed my faunus heritage which was a pair of cat ears.

Jaune: Blake...You're a faunus?

He sounds shocked. Great job Blake tou just had to ruin one of the only good friendships that you have.

Jaune: Blake...you look...

I close my eyes and prepared for being berated by Jaune but flinched when I felt that he was petting my head.

Jaune: SO ADORABLE! HOW COULD YOU HIDE SOMETHING SO CUTE ABOUT YOU!

He then hugs me again and continues to pet my head while occasionally rubbing my ears which caused me to nuzzle into his hand and purr

Me: *purrs*

He then squees at my purrs

Jaune: You keep bumping up the cuteness Blake!

My face must look so red that it could bring shame to Ruby's cape.

We then breaks away from the hug so I can continue to the second part of my secret

Me: And...I...I used to be...a member of the White Fang...

I put my head down expecting be hit or yelled at but yet again Jaune surprised me by pulling me into a hug again. He must really like hugging me, I'll keep that in mind.

Jaune: Blake I don't care if you were once a member of the White Fang and I wouldn't care if you still were a White Fang member because you're one of my bestest friends on Remnant.

Never in my life have I felt so happy before. Could this be the start of the dream I had ever since I was a child? Could this be...acceptance?

Then an idea came to mind

Me: Hey Jaune can you wait here a moment I need to get something.

He then nods and I begin to make my way towards my dorm room. Once inside I changed out of my natural clothes and into my kimono. Then I grabbed a very fluffy pillow and warm blanket.

I made my way back up to the rooftop

Once there I told Jaune that I'm staying with him for the night

Once he noticed what I was wearing and began to blush.

I placed my sleeping bag next to his and went to sleep...

Unknowingly that night I snuggled up to Jaune. He really is a good friend

[Flashback End; POV: Blake; Location: Courtyard]

I can't help but smile at that memory. Alright I've cooled down long enough I hope the others have as well. I then began making my way back to the infirmary.

[Location: Infirmary, Ruby's Room]

I made it back to the room that has Ruby but when I entered it the only person that was in the room was Ruby whose still unconscious.

This gave me a rather unsettling feeling. Like somethings about to happen, something bad.

I then saw a sticky note on the table and when I read it I bolted out the door. The note said that they were going after who hurt Ruby and right now they think Jaune did it. I need to find Jaune and warn him on what's happening but I don't know where to loom.

Think Blake, where could Jaune be...

[Small Flashback Start]

Nurse: That's all that I can say but I did see him begin to walk to the cliff where initiation took place.

[Small Flashback End]

THAT'S IT!!!

I need to head to the cliff fast before the others find him first.

I then ran to where the cliff was. I just hope I'm not too late

[Location: Cliff; POV: Jaune]

I don't know what to do, ever since Cardin told everyone about how I faked my way to Beacon almost everyone ignores me and treats me like trash even Pyrrha! Then I find Ruby almost dead. Now here I am, at Beacon's cliff trying to clear my mind when all of a sudden I heard footsteps running towards him, I turned around only to meet a fist on my face which threw me to the ground

Yang: You bastard! I knew you something was odd about you, but almost killing Ruby and play innocent on everyone!

Me: What are you saying?! I didn't hurt Ruby!

Nora: We don't believe you!

Me: Nora?

Ren: To think you were this kind of person is something we didn't expect

Me: Ren?

Pyrrha: Jaune, I thought you were different, I thought you were a good person. I can't believe you

Me: Even you Pyrrha?

I then finally noticed something about them, they were in their combat uniform and have their weapons

Me: Guys, why do you all have your weapons?

My eyes widen when I saw them shift out their weapons

Yang: Since you decided to almost kill Ruby, we decided to do the same to you

I tried to stand up only for Yang to force me down with her foot

Yang: So what's it gonna be you bastard? You wanna do this the easy way or the hard way?

Me: Guys please, I didn't do it!

Yang: The hard way it is!

Yang rise her foot to stomp me but I roll out of the way and used my Scroll to call my weapon as it landed near me.

I quickly grabbed Crocea Mors as I narrowly dodge a thrust from Weiss's rapier, I quickly equiped my shield to block a couple of slashes from Ren's Storm Flower, only to get hit by Nora's hammer. My body skips across the ground by the force of Nora's hammer and that's when I knew they were serious.

Me: (They. . . They really don't believe me? I thought we were friends, I thought they trusted me)

That's when I knew. They were no longer my friends. They no longer seen me as a living being, they see me as Trash...

Then...something happened

I was overcomed by something...something...dark...

This feeling what is it?

I didn't know what I felt, but all of a sudden I felt more energetic, more faster, more stronger

More deadly

I felt like all of my pain, sarrow, and hatred are flowing through me.

And unknowingly during that time my eyes flashed yellow before turning back to blue

I stood up as my hair covers my eyes

Me: Since you guys are not going to stop. Don't blame me for what's going to happen next!

Yang didn't knew what happen as I Shield bash her face as she was on the ground dizzy. Weiss rush to pierce me only for me to deflected it with my sword and then bash her with my shield but then Ren shoots at me with his gun damaging my aura as I went for cover using my shield. Pyrrha ran towards me as we then clashed blades with each other, little did I know Yang already recovered as she was sneaking her way towards me with her fist ready. Once she was close enough she punched me from the side of his face sending me once again across the ground I raise my head only for Yang to give me a barrage of punches to the head and then she high kicks me into the air.

I then took that advantage and threw mt shield at Yang as it hit her in the middle of her eyes. Ren rushes at me but as he gets closer to me he didn't expect for me to punch him in the face knocking him out

Nora: Ren!

Nora, enraged, charged towards me at the same time as Weiss. I dodge the hammer but barely dodge the rapier as Yang kicks my back making me lose my balance as I was then later on hit with my own shield in which Pyrrha throw to me with her semblance.

When my shield hit me, I caught it as Weiss sends off a volley of dust. I was out running most of them but then couldn't move. I seen that I was stepping on one of her Glyphs as Yang rush in and delivers a hard punch at my stomach causing me to spit out blood and then gets kicked away as I skips across the ground once again.

I start coughing out more blood, my left eye swollen as I stood up breathing hard. Pyrrha walks towards me with her guard up. Once she was in a close distance she runs towards me as we once again clash our blades.

Sparks came out each time our blades clash, but then Yang once again high kicks me but this time it was under my chin, as I was in air my ears started ringing while my vision wavers I unconsciously let go of my weapons as I then fell to the ground, while my sword stabs the ground near me.

[AN: This fight scene was made by so kudos to him for helping me out big time since I didn't know a good way to start the fight scene. Again Tachi thank you for the help I really appreciate it man you are now my new lord and savior]

Pyrrha then walks towards me.

Pyrrha: I truly believed in you Jaune...

She then walked up to my sword

Pyrrha: Believed you were a good person...

She takes my sword out of the ground and begins towards me while dragging the blade on the ground.

Pyrrha: I then realized that I made a mistake...

She then made it to me and holds my sword in a reverse grip as it's hovering over me

Pyrrha: What do you have to say for yourself...

If this is how Pyrrha truly feels then I'll tell her how I truly feel. I begin to painfully chuckle

Me: *painful chuckle* You want to know something Pyrrha? After my transcripts were exposed I knew that all possibilities for me and Weiss to get together has died. It was then that I realized that you were a person who had a major crush on me...and you wanna know something else? After today...I can't believe I ever loved you

She then stiffens up

Me: But after how you started treating after I was exposed even though you already knew that I faked my way in and didn't judge me you abandoned me when I needed you the most...

Her eyes are shadowed as a tear goes down her cheek

Me: It shows that you all were never truly my friends but rather pathetic deceivers and-

Pyrrha: SHUT UP!!!

Pyrrha then raised the sword above her head and brought it down...

My sword goes through my chestplate and through my heart...

She then breathes heavily and when she looked up she saw what she had done.

Pyrrha is now horrified

Me: *starts to cough up blood* y-you're all...n-nothing...nothing b-but...cowards...

My eyes get very heavy and my breathing began to slow.

Pyrrha then ran up to me and cradles my head on her lap.

Everyone else, including Ren who was woken up by Nora using a SMALL electric shock, was staring at me with wide eyes and tears

Pyrrha: no...I...I didn't want this! Jaune please don't go! I'm...I'm sorry...

My hearing went out after that...even if they said they didn't want to do this I wouldn't believe them one bit...

I'm really tired right now...

So very tired...

So...

Tired...

My breathing then comes to a halt.

[POV: Yang]

What...

What have we done...

We...

This wasn't supposed to happen!

Pyrrha: Jaune? Wake up. Jaune wake up damnit! WAKE UP!

Pyrrha starts breaking down into hysteria trying to wake up a dead man...

A man that I helped kill...

A friend who I got killed...

Everyone else was to shocked to speak and had tears come from our eyes.

Just when we thought things couldn't get any worse they indeed worsen from what happened next

???: JAUNE!

We turned and saw...

Blake...

She had tears coming from her eyes as they're wide with fear.

Me: Wait Blake-

I took a step forward and she took a large step back. And what she said next broke me.

Blake: STAY THE HELL AWAY FROM ME YOU MONSTERS!

She then runs to Beacon

Me: Blake wait!

We all then ran after her.

Leaving the impaled corpse of Jaune.

But what we didn't know was that after we left someone appeared next to Jaune.

[POV: ???]

So this was the boy that Ozpin has told me about. He wasn't wrong that the boy had potential to become something great after witnessing that battle.

I took the sword out of him and then summoned my keyblade so I'll be able to cast a healing spell on him

???: Curaga

A green blooming flower appears over the boy before entering him, healing all his wounds.

I then pointed my keyblade at the boy as a beam of light shot out from the keyblade and into the boy.

???: You poor poor boy...

[POV: Jaune; Location: ???]

I can't hear anything

I cant see anything

I can't feel anything

Is this what it's like to die?

Through the darkness I then see a bright light that I seem to be falling towards

I then began to freakout as I'm reaching closer and closer to what looks to be a stained glass platform

I saw a sleeping version of me with seven circled faces.

Faces all to familiar to me

A girl with snow white hair and ice blue eyes.

Which I can tell was Weiss.

A black haired girl with amber eyes and a bow on her head.

That one must be Blake.

A blonde girl with lilac eyes

This is an easy one that's Yang.

A boy with black hair with a few strands of pink along with pink eyes.

There's only one guy I know with pink as one of their color schemes it must be Ren.

A girl with orange hair and turquoise eyes.

Their is Nora

And the face of the girl who stabbed me through the heart. She had crimson red hair and green eyes.

...Pyrrha

Those six surrounded the seventh face. The face of a girl with black hair tipped red and silver eyes

Looking at Ruby I feel sad knowing that she will find out about the passing of her best friend

I then feel my descent slow down and was able to land safely

I then look around and wonder where I am until I was blinded by a light in the dark sky.

I open my eye to a orb of light floating down to me and lands in my hands.

I then heard a voice

???: You poor poor boy...

I look around me for the source of the voice

???: You've been hurt by those you called friends

I then felt saddened and angered at the fact that they were willing to kill me...I thought we were friends...no...I thought we were family...

???: And your weapon has been driven through your heart.

That makes me feel cold knowing that was how they killed me...

I then collapse on my knees waiting for it all to stop until...

???: You have potential

I then look down at the orb of light and realized the voice was coming from it

???: I can teach you on how to use the potential

My eyes widen

???: To become the ultimate warrior

The orb floats out of my hands forcing me to lift my head as my line of sight follows it with intrigue

???: To create something far more powerful than any weapon on Remnant.

How powerful could this something be

???: To be more powerful than the two brother gods

My eyes widen even further.

A weapon thats could make me stronger than the brother gods...that's impossible.

???: To forge...

I then saw an ethereal sword though it had a very odd design and yet I can tell that it radiates with power.

???: The χ-blade

The sword then vanishes and in it's place was the orb of light

???: What do you say?

I thought about it for a moment...

I then came to a conclusion

Me: I'll do it

Then the platform that I stood on lost it's image and was in two.

A side where the platform was white and the other side where the platform was black

???: Excellent my boy. But before we begin I must know.

I look at the orb

???: What power should you rely on?

The orb hovers above the white side

???: Light?

Then it hovers over the black side

???: Or darkness?

I thought about it...

I tried following the path of light and all it has given me was pain, suffering, and caused my death...I've decided

???: When you're ready walk over to the sides I mentioned.

I then walked over to the side that represented darkness. Once on the side I looked over and saw the white side shatter into pieces

???: If I am to bring you back I must first separate your heart from light and darkness. The side that you chose is the side that you will come back with while the other is what you'll leave behind.

The orb then bursts into very bright light, blinding me.

???: Now my boy...it's time to wake up.

[POV: ???; Location: Cliff]

Now that I know the boys answer I know what to take and what to leave behind.

I then point my keyblade downwards over the boy's heart and stabbed into it.

Once I did that I pulled my keyblade out along with a black flame of sorts.

I then tossed the flame onto tbe body as a barrier of darkness forms around it preventing me from seeing inside it.

Soon a boy came out of the barrier.

I smiled.

Me: Welcome back to the land of the living my boy.

[POV: Jaune; Location: Cliff]

???: Welcome back to the land of the living my boy.

I opened my eyes and see a person in a black coat. Judging by the voice the person must be an old man.

Me: You...You're that voice from my dream.

I can hear a small chuckle come from him

???: Indeed I am my boy and the person who brought you back to life.

I then I go on one knee

Me: Thank you so very much mister.

He then reaches into his coat pocket as I stood up

???: Before we go my boy you may want to see your new appearance.

He then pulls out a small hand mirror and handed it to me.

What I saw was not what I expected.

My eyes were no longer blue but now as yellow as gold and my hair was no longer blond and tame but rather it was midnight black and spikey.

(AN: Without suit and is in Jaune's combat clothes)

???: So I highly doubt you want me to keep referring you as "My boy" so please tell me what you want me to call you since I also know that you know longer want to be known a Jaune Arc.

He's right Jaune Arc died today I am now someone else after returning from a place where life was still...

Still life...

Vanitas...

Me: Jaune Vanitas but please just call me Vanitas.

I told the man my new name.

???: Still life, eh? Well it is nice to meet you Vanitas I shall be your new mentor so please don't call me professor or teacher

He tells me that he's my new teacher but I still don't know his name

Me: Excuse me sir but...what's your name

He then sticks his hand out towards me

???: Oh excuse my rudeness, my name is...

Xehanort.

I then shook his hand

Me: it's nice to meet you...

It's finally here everyone it looks like I kept that promise to you all to release this twelve days after Christmas.
