Jaune opened his eyes and gasped after being resurrected, then he checked his body and looked at his surroundings

Jaune: what? Where am I? what happened?

Then his ghost appeared in front of his face, startling him

???: hello, guardian.

Jaune: what the hell? What are you?

???: I'm a ghost. Well, I'm your ghost and, well, you just died and I brought you back after I found you.

Jaune was so confused at what he was just informed at the fact that he died and was resurrected

Jaune: oh, weill do you have a name?

???: I don't have a name.

Jaune: oh, well how about you give you a name? why don't I call you.... Mors?

The ghost pondered and then her eye flickered in delight

Mors: I like it.

Jaune smiled, but then started to not remember about his past, because he can't remember at all

Jaune: wait... why can't I remember anything before my death?

Mors: I'm afraid that once a guardian is chosen by it's ghost and once said guardian gets chosen and brought back, they lose his or her memories of their past life.. almost like if a profile has been blocked and all that.

Jaune: (sigh) ok, but maybe one day I'll remember my past.

Mors: I'm sure you will too.

Jaune smiled, then he stood up

Jaune: well, can you at least show me to how you got here and who brought you here?

Mors: of course. Follow me

then after the two left, Oobleck & Port returned with the shovels, but dropped them after seeing the spot where Jaune was lying on is empty, making the two teachers shocked & fearful at seeing the empty spot

Port: this can't be good.

(ELSEWHERE WITH JAUNE & MORS)

we see that Jaune & his ghost, Mors, arrived at the landing zone where they encountered an Exo female known as Elsie Bray

Elsie: I take it that this is your new Guardian?

Mors: yes Elsie, This is my new guardian. His name is Jaune.

Jaune: Hey.

Elsie smiled

Elsie: good, now let's go back to the Last City. I'm sure that the vanguard will be waiting to meet Jaune here.

Jaune; i don't know who the vanguard are, but yeah let's go.

they all head into Elsie's ship and leave Remnant

(5 MONTHS LATER)

At the Last City's tower, we see Cayde-6 walking in the tower's command room and approached Ikora

Cayde-6: Ikora, if you tell me that this is a practical joke.... Well it kills me to say it, but I'd be really impressed.

Ikora: impressing you, Cayde, is the easiest thing I'll do all day.

Then Zavala is seen over the war table

Zavala: Let's get serious people.

Cayde-6: Zavala, this is my serious face. Can't you tell?

Zavala: Ikora, what do you got?

Ikora checked on her tablet

Ikora: someone or something has sabotaged the skyline defense systems.

Cayde-6: and comms have been spotty for the last few hours. Every sensor beyond the wall has gone dark.

Zavala: hmm, maybe it's just the storm.

Then he turned around and looked out the windows, staring at said storm

Zavala: or maybe it's... Ikora, what are the sat feeds telling us?

Ikora checked on her tablet to see what the feeds are saying, and then...

Ikora: nothing.

Cayde-6: well, that's good, right?

Ikora: no, I mean they're not there. There are no satellites!

Cayde-6: so, that's NOT good.

As Zavala looked out at the storm and as said storm thundered, it turned out that the storm was being used as camouflage for a Cabal Red Legion invasion force

Zavala: BATTLE STATIONS!!!

Red legion cruisers fired their missiles at the tower

Zavala: everyone with me, Now!!!

They went to Zavala as he summoned a dome shield as the rest of the scene went out like this

After Jaune finished his training on how to fight like a guardian 5 months ago, he enjoyed it. Sure he died numerous times, but at least he's gotten used to it after a few deaths here and there

And now after he returned to the last city and finds that it's being invaded by the Red Legion and after he sabotaged the engines of the Cabal Command ship, he and his ghost, Mors, leave the ship and see that the Traveler is being put in some kind of cage

Mors: how do we come back from this?

???: You don't.

They turn around and see this tyrannical monster....the one and only...

Ghaul: welcome to a world, without light.

Then as jaune and his ghost turned and looked at the Traveler, the machine that's on it severed it's light between it and the Guardians, making them powerless as Mors deactivated and Jaune grabbed his ghost when Ghaul approached Jaune as he stared at Ghaul

Ghaul: do not look at me... CREATURE!!!

He kicked jaune far, close to the edge specifically

Ghaul: You Are weak! Undisciplined. Cowering behind walls. You're not brave, you've merely forgotten the fear of death. Allow me to reacquaint you.

Then he pushed Jaune so closer to the edge that his ghost, Mors, fell off the ship

Jaune: MORS!!!

He screamed, then glared at Ghaul

Ghaul: your kind never deserved the power you were given.

Jaune: (hateful tone) who are you?!

Ghaul: I am Ghaul. And your light.....is mine.

Then he kicked Jaune off the ship as he was now falling down to the city's ruins
