Chapter Forty-Five: Vague Planning and Divination
•Mercy's point of view•
"Okay, my beautiful magic eight ball, I'm gonna need you to give me an answer that isn't "Answer is foggy, ask again later". Understand? Are we ever gonna find Ben?" I asked Calypso, throwing down my coat and sinking down across the bed from her. Calypso shuffled her cards.
She was sitting shirtless on the bed, eating my fries that I brought as an offering to her as she listened to Beethoven's more aggressive music. She pulled five cards off the top of the deck and held them like go fish cards, being careful to keep them in order of draw.
"Still foggy, but he's apparently still fucking alive and now has foster parents that aim to adopt." Calypso replied after a few long moments of total silence other than the sounds of music and Concrete arguing with the squirrels outside.
"As if it's gonna actually happen." I growled. "I'm gonna send Jeff through the gates the hard way and have him fix that if they ain't careful."
"Well...you can try prying information out of our obnoxious Scotsman of a writer." Calypso suggested, adjusting her bra strap a little bit.
"I could. I could also bring Heaven straight to Hell myself." I considered. Calypso's pretty mouth dropped open and she stared at me with awe and disbelief. "What?" I asked.
"You're gonna move an entire two layers of the universe?" Calypso asked.
"It's just a bunch of magic clouds." I shrugged. "It would be easy to move the magic clouds, Calypso. The hard part is killing God and overthrowing the system."
"But...how do you plan on capturing the clouds?" Calypso asked.
"I don't. I plan on moving them with the little bit of demonic magic I got from my late mother." I replied. "Anyways...how has your day been?"
"Put out only one fire today and it was on my shirt. Ash sneezed on me." Calypso said. "Pass me my tea, please."
"Here you go." I passed her the cup of iced tea as she got up to try to find a shirt. She held the cup in her long scaly purple tail. I decided not to say anything about her not having to put on a shirt. Yeah, her body is very pretty and I like how she looks without the shirt, but I also don't want her to look at me like I'm a pain in the ass.
"Thank you." Calypso said as she grabbed one of my shirts and put it on.
"You're welcome." I replied, standing up. She sipped the tea and put it down before tucking into my side. She untied my bow tie and unbuttoned my top two buttons on my shirt, kissing the skin she uncovered. I rubbed the pads of my thumbs on her skin, getting that sore spot in her back from when she accidentally fell from the bed last night.
She groaned slightly, sagging against me as I rubbed her back with all four hands. I smiled slightly, resisting the urge to laugh.
"You do love having your back rubbed, don't you, Melty." I teased.
"Fuck off, but don't stop rubbing just yet." Calypso mumbled, her emotional hue turning a dark pink in my peripheral vision.
"You're actually horny for once, huh. That's new and different." I hummed, my hands rubbing in between her shoulders.
"Shut up. I know. I'm not proud of it." Calypso grumbled softly.
"We can do it if you want. You're the boss of you." I told her, playing with the ends of her hair.
"Do you have any actual experience?" Calypso asked.
"I had a one night stand with a girl who taught me most everything she knew when I was fifteen, before I met Troy." I told her softly. "There's many methods, but again...we don't have to do it if you don't want to."
"I- we could try? I'm not gonna be very comfortable at first though."
"Darling, your body is perfect and, though I like to think of you and your physical form as mine, it's your body. You don't owe me anything." I assured her.
