Chapter Fifty-Five: Hot Chocolate and Restoration

•Mercy's point of view•

"So, now that everyone is either asleep or back home, what's the story behind how your daughter and youngest son were found?" Dad asked, referring to Ambrose and Eloise. We were standing in the kitchen as Pops made up some hot chocolate.

"I flirted with God. I beheaded her and her head is currently mounted on the wall next to all your trophies from hunting. Then, after she was beheaded, my dumb ass heard crying, so I investigated and found the babies and picked them up. And now, I have her powers, two babies, and her head." I explained, holding my hand open. A flower bloomed just above the palm of my hand as I stared at it.

"Huh." Dad muttered absently, his scarlet eyes focused on the flower.

"Now, why haven't you been able to come back down to Hell, Dad?" I asked, handing the pale pink flower to Pops.

"Almost no powers. I think God might've stolen it all when I was exterminated." Dad held out his hand, as if to make a deal with me. No green light appeared around his hand. Dad stared at his hand with deep contempt. I thought for a moment.

"Hand." I said. Dad confusedly held out his hand. I cupped my hands around his skinny hand, giving him a large portion of God's warlike powers and evil magic.

"What did you do?" Dad asked, confused. Green energy that resembled cartoon electricity spread through Dad's arms and body.

"I gave you back the power you lost. God stole it, right?" I asked. "I gave you a bit more than you had, so please be careful. It may not be what you're used to." Dad nodded slightly, watching the energy sink into his skin. Calypso came into the kitchen, wearing my pajamas. She latched onto my waist, resting her head on my shoulder. She kissed my neck lightly and I buried my face in her long purple hair.

"Eloise and Ambrose didn't want to sleep..." Calypso mumbled into my shoulder.

"Of course not. They have a lot of energy and are probably going to mature much slower than Ben and Ashton." I chuckled, figiting with Cal's long hair.

Pops handed me a mug of hot chocolate and I took one sip before Calypso stole it.

"Cal, why?" I asked as she sipped my hot chocolate. Cal shrugged and blew smoke that smelled like chocolate at me. "Okay, keep it then." I huffed.

"I don't think I'm going to be back in Hell for a while. Ben isn't going to be used to Hell and it might scare him, so I will remain up here with him if you want." Dad eventually said. "With Ben or not, I'm going to enjoy the peace of Earth for a while."

"I didn't think of that. Do you think it'll be easier for him to go to school up here?" I asked.

"Maybe, maybe not. Schools in Hell have been known to be...less than adequate for educational purposes and not very safe places for children." Dad reminded me. I gripped Calypso's waist tighter subconsciously. We both knew from experience that bullying was very common and that Cal has some unpleasant memories of her experience in elementary school.

"Can we trust you to also have Ash go to school up here? I want both of them to have the safest time as children that we can get." Calypso asked.

"Of course. I'd be happy to either homeschool them or have them go to school with children their age." Dad told me.

"I wanna stay here too." Pops said, latching onto Dad as tight as he could. "I just wanna be with you."

"And so you will be. Angel, I wasn't planning on leaving you behind." Dad said, kissing Pops behind the ear.

"Oh good, I got worried." Pops said. Dad stared at him for a moment before pinching Pops in the side.

"Stupid. Stupid spider." Dad said.

Stitches started snickering from the table where he was watching stuff go down as he played with his guitar.

"Stitches, shut up. You're in the same exact boat as your dads, but I'm the clingy one." Prince said, grabbing a beer out of the fridge and wandering back to the couch.

"Oh my fuck, shut up." Stitches snarled at us as we all started snickering.
