It was a sunny spring day in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Two girls, Brooke and Ashley, were walking home from high school.

"Holy crap, was that test hard!" Ashley remarked. Ashley had medium-length brown hair and commonly wore dark clothing. In the future, she hoped to become an accountant like her father.

"I don't know how ANYONE can understand Pre-Calculus," Brooke replied. "I'm jealous of you." Brooke usually had long, blonde hair, but today she was trying a new red hair dye. Unlike Ashley, she had trouble with math-related subjects, but she was exceptional at Biology.

"Don't be. Even I struggle sometimes." Ashley changed the topic and asked, "Have you heard about this new TikTok challenge?"

"No," answered Brooke. "I hate that kind of stuff."

"It's called the 'Appalachian Game.' If you complete it, you get a vision of your future," Ashley explained.

Brooke looked confused. "Why would anyone want to see what their future looks like? I'm scared of mine!"

"And some people aren't scared."

At that moment, they arrived at Brooke's house.

"Well, I gotta go. See you tomorrow!" said Brooke.

As Ashley waved goodbye, Brooke could not help but think about the game. Yes, she was scared about what her future might hold. However, maybe, just maybe, she could overcome her fear?
