Saviors

As I finished singing the chorus, Castiel stopped me by saying, "How do you know Ani's song?"

"Sting did a rendition of the song for The Hunger Games Movie.  Also, it is one of my all time favorite lullabies to sing to little ones when they are trying to go to sleep."

Cas then looked at me with curiosity.  Apparently, he had never heard of The Hunger Games or anything like that.  He thought that I was this so called Angel that took care of him, but in reality, I am a teenage girl who has no idea of what is going on.  He said to me, "Can you please continue reading?"

"No problem."

If I am in a dire situation in which I am going to have a vision very quickly, then I can always do a four note whistle from the same movie.  Thank goodness that Father and the Archangels don't know either of those passwords.  At least, I hope they don't.

And that's when I hear Cassie's screams, "Ani!  Help me!"  He was being attack by this...horrible creature with snarling teeth, yet it looked like me.  Human.  It was really bizarre.

I yelled to him, "I'm coming Cassie!"  I then proceeded to go out into the open, where the Eldest can see me.  I pulled out my blade, ready to fight whatever that creature was.  It was threatening my family, and that's not cool with me.

As I was about to confront the creature, I hear someone say, "Emilyanne, don't fight!  You can't defeat this thing!"

I yelled back, "I will!  I have to!  I am doing this for the greater good!"  I ran towards Castiel and saw the Capitol Mutt about to hurt him.  I ran towards the beast, yelling, "Get away from my child!"

The beast turned and looked at me.  It didn't have those gruesome teeth anymore.  My yelling got it confused enough for it to drop Cassie, and it came after me.  Cassie ran, such a smart idea by him.  The beast and I collided, and that was when the struggle started.

Because of my small size, I attacked by using my fist to its throat, and the creature went down.  From there, I tried to keep it down until I got backup.  I kept it distracted long enough for the Archangels to arrive.

By the time they arrived, the beast had given me quite a few blows to me.  The number wasn't the problem, but the impact was what bothered me.   My ribs felt like they were on fire with every step I took.  I also had some cuts on my arms, but I never gave up.   I remember seeing Father with Cassie, and someone pulled me out of battle.

I snarled at the person, "I can fight!  I can still go!"  I turned and saw that it was Lucifer.

"Em," he said to me, "You're injured.  My brothers and I will handle the Leviathan."

I was shocked that I was fighting one of Father's first creations, "You mean...that's what I was fighting?"

He laughed before he went into battle, "Yep."  Luci then joined Gabriel, Raphael, and Michael in battle.  Father had Cas in his arms, so I walked over to him.  Cassie was out like a rock in his arms.  It was quite adorable.

I made it over to the two of them. Father placed Cassie in my open arms, saying, "Run to the Meadow."  So, I ran, to the best of my ability towards the Meadow.  I was almost there, when I collapsed, with Cas on my lap.

I decided that I needed to stay still for a bit, so I held Cas in my arms.  He woke up a few minutes later, saying, "Ani,are you alright?"

"Yeah.  I am okay Cassie." I lied to him about my condition.

"Who was that strange man holding me?"

"Father, Cassie."

"And those four," he said pointing to the Archangels, "are the Princes?"

"Yes, that is Michael, Lucifer, Raphael, and Gabriel.  The Archangels.  They wanted to protect you."

"Okay, Ani."  He then yawned and said to me, "Can you please sing to me?"

"Sure."  I started to sing Rue's Lullaby, and by the time I sang, "Here is the place where I love you," Cas was out.  And the five Eldest were around me.  I then whispered to them, "Thank you for saving the two of us.  We both appreciate it."

Gabriel was the first to respond with quite a bit of emotion, "No problem, Emilyanne.  Are you and Cassie alright?"  Lucifer then proceeded to whack him lightly and playfully on his arm.  Do the Archangels have a crush on me?

My reply was, as I was attempting to sound brave, "Yeah.  Castiel is perfectly fine.  Probably a little tired if anything."

"What about yourself?  You took quite a beating from the creature."

"I am alright, just a little tired."  Once again, I lied to them.

"You sure?"  I could tell that they didn't quite believe me.

"Yes, I am fine.  Now, I am going to take care of Cassie now if you guys don't mind."  I then proceeded to get up from my spot near the tree, with Cas in my arms, and started to walk towards his room.  My ribs were now burning with pain, but yet, I marched on.  The Eldest watched my struggle with carrying him.

Father then said, "Michael, take Castiel back where he belongs.  Emilyanne is injured and needs help."

I said back to him, "I am fine, and I will take him back.  I am his caretaker, after all."  Maybe if I said something, then it will come true.

Michael then stopped coming towards me, "Okay, Em.  We'll let you take him home."

I started to walk towards his room. I was walking near a lake when I collapsed.  My ribs were what bothered me the most, but it was my right leg that failed me.  Fearful of the creature not being vanquished, I hid near a rose garden near the lake.  I saw that the sunset was disappearing, and it was absolutely breathtaking.

I looked at Castiel, thinking that this would be the last time I would see him.  I thought I was dead for sure.  I heard people coming towards me, and I just closed my eyes,

"I knew you weren't alright, Em." It was Gabriel and his brothers.  I opened my eyes and sat up immediately, and finally noticed their outfits.  They were all in full armor, as if a war was about to break out.  They looked like my saviors,  my heroes.

Michael then took Cas in his arms.  It felt like my heart had been ripped out.  I stated quietly, "Please don't take him from me."  A single tear slipped from my face.

My plea worked, partially, "Don't worry Em, you can still see him.  But, we don't want to see his caretaker injured."  Michael, after saying that to me, flew off.  I trusted him enough to watch over my little guy.  I decided to try and doze off, until I heard the other three arguing over me.

The last thing I wanted was for all of them to fight over me, so I started to get up and walk away, towards the direction of the lake.  I realized that I was a coward, and not brave at all.  I walked away from my fears, instead of facing them.

I fell a few steps later, and just laid where I was.  I remember seeing the sapphire skies.  It was quite a peaceful sunset.  I remember hearing the four brothers argue over me, but I tuned them out by listening to the water.  I then fell asleep.

I came to again a few minutes later, and realized that I was in someone's arms, and not the Garden.  I saw three people running in front of me down a hallway.  I couldn't understand why they were running, I wasn't dead or dying.  I was just injured.

It was enough to freak out the four people that were a part of this mission out.  I looked at the person holding me, and saw that he was in a prince like outfit.  The other three were dressed in the same fashion. They were my heroes.

I was put down in my bed, and proceeded to say to the four of them, "Are you four my heroes?"

I could see tears forming in their eyes.  The one closest to my bed said, "Yes, we are here to help you."  He then let his friends know that I was okay.

They all came over, weeping out of pure relief.  The one that was talking to me said, "Em, you'll be alright.  We are all sorry that we did not step in earlier."

I sat up carefully in my bed, "You are all forgiven, and forget your tears.  You don't need them anymore. I'm okay."  I smiled weakly.

This only made them cry even more, "You're more important to us than you realize, Em.  It's our job to protect you.  All of us, including me, failed at that one job."

"Well, I am still alive, so I'll be fine.  I am just exhausted.  So, if you don't mind, I'll probably take a power nap."

As soon as I said that, I passed out.  But this day is far from over.

I said out loud, "What does she mean far from over?"

Sam responded, "Who knows what she could be talking about?  We will find out soon enough."

"I don't mind reading more, but can I please get a drink of water or something? Actually, I'll grab it myself."  I got up and hobbled over to the kitchen to get a bottle of water.

A/N: Well, this is quite a long chapter!  I cut it down a lot. Call it poor planning on my end, but I am writing part three this weekend for sure!  Barring any successful distractions by my sister....or other stuff.

I haven't been able to update like I want to because A: My sister is busy with her stories, or B: Life happens. I'll just leave it like that.

Thanks for over 200 views!  This makes me soooo happy!  Thank you for sticking with me through this!
