Chapter 3

Pastel Palettes had it easy. Their agency managed to get them in a limo right before the zombies attacked. That image they saw... It would be a long time before they forgot it.

Maya knew a little bit about driving, so she drove the whole time.

Hina was in the passenger seat beside her sleeping, Aya and Chisato were talking to each other, and Eve was just reading her samurai book.

They were hungry and tired. They missed their families. They wanted life to start over, back when they were just idols. But they knew it wouldn't go back to normal.

"Maya-san, where are we going?" Eve asked. No one asked that at all.

Maya shrugged and replied, "I don't know, Eve. But we're gonna have to stop somewhere."

Aya made a suggestion. "Um, how about that old bridge on the other side of town? We can stop there."

"Ok." Maya drove for a few more miles until they stopped at a rusty metal bridge that led to the border.

Hina woke up, drool all over her shirt.  "Mmm... Where are we... Maya-chan?"

"We're at the old bridge. Come on, let's get out and rest." Maya said softly.

The former band walked to the edge of the water, and looked at their reflections. They all had dark circles under their eyes, and their clothes were disheveled.

Then, a low grumble told everyone that their stomachs were still empty.

"Would anyone like to hunt with me?" Chisato asked, already starting to get her bow and arrows.

Aya's hand went up. "I don't know much about hunting, but I would like to help."

"I'll go too," Hina replied. "I need to stretch my legs."

Chisato nodded. "Ok. Hina and Aya, go get your weapons, I'll be waiting. Eve and Maya, stay here and watch the car. Look out for zombies."

The three girls left, leaving Eve and Maya alone.
