Introductions

Midnight

My eyes snap open.

I leap up, preparing for something, anything to hit me. But I am not prepared fro the wave of dizziness and nausea that hits me like a charging bull. I reel back, ending up on my hands and knees. I crouch there, panting, doing my everything I can not to be sick. I look around. All there is is white. No sky. No ceiling.

No FLOOR- I gag again- no ANYTHING!!! Why? What? Who- but I know who I am.
Im Midnight Charm, and I'm from earth. But any more than that and it just goes all fuzzy.
Then I see it.The body in the distance. I teleport over - WHAT? How? I don't know. I don't care. I peer over the body. I sit and wait, only me and my imagination.
Around an hour later, her eyes flutter open.

Emma

The first thing I see when I wake is a pretty girl with long blonde hair leaning over me.
"Hey I'm Midnight," she says shyly. "I like your hair ."
My hair is rainbow coloured, each little strand a different shade of red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo or violet. I love my hair. As a rainbow fairy I am gifted with it to show my heritage. I smile back at Midnight and reply, "My name's Emma Claire Rainbow, but everyone calls me Emma." I study Midnight a little more. She doesn't have wings, so she is definitely not a fairy like me. Perhaps a human?
"OMG," she says, "Are those wings real? They look real. But they can't be real can they?"
Definitely a human.
"They are," I tell her, "I'm a fairy." I look past her at the whiteness all around, and my face goes white. I know this place. Every fairy child is told bedtime stories about it, and later on we have nightmares about the scary, all white place that no one has ever escaped from.
"Echo," I whisper. "No, no, NO! How did we get into Echo?"

Elle Cream

I see two young girls hunched over each other in the corner.
They're tilting their heads in conversation, so I decide to take a look. I can see now they're arguing.
"But this place is endless! We can't get home in a matter of years!"
I'm probably the only one that can detect fairy voices. This one's a fairy.
"No, but..."
I cant hear them anymore. They hush their voices. They know I'm here. I glide over to them silently. It's great if the world matches your dress. It gives you constant camouflage. They spin around in worry.
They're definitely much younger than me. Well, I'm probably the oldest here, being 17.
"Hello, I'm Elle. Elle Cream," I say softly.
They gawp at me like I'm some sort of special work of art.
"You... you are beautiful. No, not beautiful. Radiant," says the small, I'm now making out, rainbow fairy.
For the first compliment I've had in years, it just feels great. I swoop down and unexpectedly throw my arms around her.
"I'm... I'm Emma. Emma Claire Rainbow?" Her voice is sharp, like tangerine juice flying at you.
"It's nice to meet you, Emma," I smirk and fly high, attempting to release myself from this endless white cage...

The Ancient Child

I open my eyes. Whiteness. White walls, white floor, white ceiling. I, on the other hand, am completely grey. In the distance, are three girls. All at least three or more years older than me. They spot me instantly.

"Look, it's a boy!" one gasps. They come over to me.

"Hello," one says softly. This one has rainbow coloured hair, and beautiful wings. "I'm Emma. This is Elle Cream, and this is Midnight Charm. Who are you?"

"I... Erm..." I stutter. That's a good question. Who AM I? "I don't know," I cry helplessly. "I... I remember these old men, though. They called me the Ancient Child, because I think I'm immortal...?"

"That could be possible," says one. She is extremely beautiful, but looks almost eighteen.

Everyone peers around. Nobody else is there.

Midnight

"OK," I say with a determination that none of the others knew I had. "Well, we have to do SOMETHING don't we? Fairy girl, you told us you knew more about Echo. What did the fairies used to say about this place?"

All the others look at me in a small state of shock, and suddenly it clicks- I'm being quite harsh.

"Oh, sorry! I just got really into it there. Tell me if I do it again, OK?"

Elle Cream and the boy in grey seem to snap out of it quickly, and Emma starts stammering.

"Umm, well Echo is the... the... the..." she's almost in tears now. "The place where they send lost souls"

"What does that mean?" Elle asks.

"It means, that.... that... whatever happened before we came here, made us lose something serious. It..it could be anything. And-and-and-well, no one has ever got out! BUT ITS ALL JUST A FAIRY TALE!!!!!"

Her rainbow hair hangs in what looks like depressed sheets around her head as she crumbles to the ground in hysterics.

"Well, it obvously ISNT a fairy tale,"says 'The Ancient Child'.

And then me and Elle, on the same thought say together,

"Then what are we gonna do about it?"

Violet

I wake up. In front of me are 3 girls and a boy. I look down at myself and see I'm holding a stick... a... wand? OK... and a... book...

"Hello...?" I say, shyly.

"Hi!" says one. She's got wings... she's a fairy! Wait- how do I know?

"What's with the big book? Reading it?" asks another. She's an ordinary human. That's... like... me?

"I don't remember..." I admit. I look at the cover. "Legends of Lost Worlds- Propery of... Hogwarts Library???!!!" I read. Suddenly I have a flashback.

___
"Hello, Violet!" says Remus. Remus? How do I know?
"Hello, Moony!" I grin. "Hey, seen this book? It's got something interesting..."
"REMEY?" calls a blonde girl... Po... Po... Poppy?
"Sorry, Violet, duty calls," says Remus with a sad smile.
"OK..." I sigh. A flash. Darkness.

___

I tumble back into the present. Everyone's staring at me.

"Well?" asks a grey boy, gloomily.

"Oh, yes." I stutter. I read the page that I remember in my flashback. Page 394.

"Legend has it that some beings with lost souls from all times and kingdoms will be transported to a land called Echo. There they will meet each other for the first time and use their powers to create a magical kingdom where they shall all live in peace and harmony. Eventually they will be able to return to the time that they left and go back and forth to Echo. Should they fail, however, they will remain in Echo, lose their powers and die there, while their times will remain as they left them for all eternity!"

"Glum," remarks human girl.

"Sad," sighs a beautiful girl.

"WE'RE DOOOMED!" yells the fairy girl.

"Wonderful!" cries the boy.

Midnight

"WONDERFUL????!!!!"I shout at grey boy, in a burst of anger. 'WE COULD BE STUCK HERE FOREVER AND EVER AND YOU SAY WONDERFULL? WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?"
Then my sudden burst of anger is gone, and I mumble an apology.
'Its ok,"the 'ancient child' says forgivingly."No, it isnt. I've been horrible to more than you!""No, its fine! We are all under a lot of stress like now," He says again."thanks! I grab at the chance to make things better.
I had instantly liked the new girl, she seemed really intersesting, but very mysterious. A lot to find out about her, then.
'What's you name?' I ask, helping her, smoothing things over as best I can.
"I'm Violet she says happily.
"And you?"
Im Midnight, I say.

Elle

I see the girl who had recognised 'Remus?'
Emma Claire is crying now, even sobbing.
I'm so angry now, but nothing on my face shows it. I'm pirouetting up in the sky (well, high up because there is no sky) and everyones staring at me. Now I have clamped my lips tightly together, and it shows a little.
I send shooting enchanted snow-balls at the 'ancient child' and he ducks, and starts crying too. I'm not surprised his tears are grey too. But it takes a lot of effort for this. I shriek in pain, and I'm subtly surprised Mightnght has lifted me up and propped me onto the elbows...

The Ancient Child

"A... Are you okay, Elle?" I asked.
"What happened?" she demanded in reply. So much for being gentle.
"I... I dunno," I replied honestly. She seemed to go a little... Beserk, and then, she sort of blacked out. I don't know how to explain this, however, especially as nobody trusts me.
I feel awful. I know I'm miserable, and go through pain every single second of the day, but I try my hardest to stay kind to everyone, too.
"What are we going to do?" Violet asks. She seems rather sensible, and for the first time, I think I have met someone in Echo who I can trust.

Vertia

"Where am I?" I wonder, jumping to my feet. I can't remember what just happened. Hazy. Mysterious. There are a bunch of children staring at me. My face burns. " Where AM I?" I repeat angrily to o the children, who fidget slightly, especially a boy in complete grey and a saddened face.

Midnight

"Well, I think- WHAT?"
Suddenly a body is on the floor beneath my feet.
'Hello?'
She doesn't stir.
I shove her lightly with my foot.
Her eyes snap open now, much like mine did, not like some of the others whose eyes seemed to flutter lightly up.
She has obviously had an intersesting past.
I wonder vainly what she had lost.
Then she jumps up, and demands to know where she is.
I explain, as gently as I can under all the stress.
After we had all finished ( there where many interuptions), she nodds in thought.
'Yes, I've heard of that to....I don't remember much though...."
After another hour of talking and thinking, we all come to a disicion.
'We need a leader. Someone who knows what to do and when, and how!" I say.
"Lets have a vote. If you want to be the leader, step forward."
" I volunteer"

Violet

"I volunteer!" I say, stepping forward.
"OK, anyone else?" asks TAC (The Ancient Child).

OOC:

RosieJosie:

lol, TAC sounds really funny!
Dun, dun dun...
The friends are in the middle of a mysterious world called Echo, and quite unable to remember much of their lives. One is called Midnight Charm, one is called Emma, one is called Violet... And one is called TAC! Lol!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

IC:

Vertia

Right. I step forward. "Well, I volunteer as WELL," I persist. " I am an orphan, I have had a horrible past, losing more as each day goes by. I have handled stress, anger, sadness, grief, loss and have still survived without being so much as scraped. So why can't I handle this, leadership?"

Midnight

'Anyone else?" I ask, starting to wish that there werent so many people volunteering.
I wanted to be leader. I hate being told what to do, i find it annoying. But in this world we must all work together. Home is more important than me being vain. I push my feelings aside. For the group, I tell myself.
So I say again," Does anyone else want to be leader?"
