Meeting The Spirit Animals

It was the next morning, and the friends were woken up to the choir of birds and the sunlight spilling through the window. They got up and got dressed. Mr. Lockmore waved goodbye as the friends walked to Hemlock Park. It wasn't too far from the Lockmore house, but far enough for the friends to spend some time together, even it is just walking to their destination. They soon arrived at Hemlock Park, and the friends went straight into the woods. They like walking along the bike path that leads into the woods. The canopy was thick, but thin enough for rays of sun to kiss the earth beneath it. The orchestra of the wind and the choir of birds made Hemlock Park Woods very beautiful and peaceful.

"This place is amazing..." Vera said with a content sigh.

"I agree. So quiet and serene." Devan said.

The four friends then walked up to a great oak tree and sat down. They breathed in the crisp summer air and stared off into the distance. As the friends were relaxing, they heard a branch snap. Their peaceful mood soon turned into fear and worry. They got up and looked around them.

"What was that?" Gabriel asked.

"Don't know... but we're not alone." Devan said.

"V, get behind us." James said.

Vera did as told. Then, they saw a rustle in the bushes. Then, a big, gray wolf came out. Vera wanted to scream, but quickly covered her mouth. Then, on the side of them, a grizzly bear walked out. On the other side of them, a giant scorpion crawled out. The friends were terrified. Some of the world's most deadliest animals were right there in front of them. When they were backing up slowly, they bumped into something. They turned around and they were face to face with a leopard. The friends were completely surrounded by very deadly animals.

"What do we do...?" Vera asked.

"I don't know..." James said.

"It was nice knowing you guys." Gabriel said.

"Gabe, don't talk like that." Devan said.

The animals inched closer and closer to the teens until each one of them was in front of a teen. Then, the pieces clicked together in Vera's head.

"Hey guys, I just realized something," she said.

"What is it?" Gabriel asked.

"Look at the animals before us. What do they remind you of?"

Then, it hit them.

"They're our spirit animals, from the quiz we took yesterday." James said.

"But that's impossible. A wolf and a grizzly bear here in the woods make sense, but a leopard and a scorpion? That's not normal. Not to mention their giant sizes." Devan said.

"That is strange, but I really don't care about that right now. All I care about is getting out of here alive!" Gabriel said.

The friends were now back to back with each other, hearts beating like drums, sweating bullets. The only thing that was going through their heads was that they were going to die right now.

"You do not need to be afraid of us, young ones." the bear said.

Their mouths fell open and their eyes widened.

"Did... did you just... talk...?" James asked.

The bear nodded.

"And you can understand us?!" Vera asked.

"We speak your language, as well as many others." the wolf said.

"So... you're not going to kill us?" Devan asked.

"The thought never crossed our minds. If it did, you would have been in our stomachs by now." the scorpion said.

The friends shuddered, but still sighed with relief.

"We are sorry for scaring you. It was not our intention," the leopard said.

"It's okay. So... what are your names?" Vera asked.

"I am Alpha." the wolf said.

"I am Poison Pin." the scorpion said.

"I am Scaress." the bear said.

"And I am Cubo."

The friends looked at each other with blank faces.

"I'm Vera, and these are my best friends: James, Devan, and Gabriel." Vera said.

"So... what are you guys anyway, besides being some of the world's most deadliest animals?" Gabriel asked.

"We are Spirit Animals, your Spirit Animals." Alpha said.

"We come from a world known as Hatari, World of the Spirit Animals. We are some of the strongest Spirit Animals there." Scaress said.

"We have been watching you four for quite some time now, and we need your help." Poison Pin said.

"Help with what?" Devan asked.

"Come with us." Cubo said.

He and the others bent down for the teens to ride them. The friends were hesitant at first, but climbed on the backs of their Spirit Animals. Then, a small, blue and white portal was formed on the great oak tree. The Spirit Animals got up and walked through the portal.

"Where are we going?" Devan asked.

"Hatari." Cubo replied.

Once they were the portal, everything went blank.
