Free From Their Claws and Jaws

Polytheus squeezed her throat harder, but Vera's heart was still beating. Then, the marking on Vera's hand started to glow. With a burst of energy, Vera broke out of Polytheus' hold. She landed on the concrete, panting. Then, the light from her marking engulfed her. She became a beacon, and the Animal Spirits and the Kilvas Clan looked over.

"You and your friends have proven yourselves worthy of having the full Spirit Animal power... we are here to help you..." said a faint voice.

When the light dimmed down, Vera wasn't there, except a large, golden and black leopard. Smoke wafting from its almond eyes.

It was Vera...

Polytheus released the boys and turned his attention to Vera. Then, the same thing happened to the boys. Their markings started to glow and the light engulfed them. In James' place was a large, brown bear. In Devan's place was a big, black scorpion. In Gabriel's place was a big, gray wolf. They walked to Vera's side and growled at Polytheus.

"April... what happened to them?" Indigo asked.

"They now have the true power of the Spirit Animals..." April replied sweetly.

"Well done... little cousin..." she thought.

Polytheus hissed at the Animalita and struck at them, but they dodged him. Gabriel howled and shadows of wolves came from his body. They charged at Polytheus and attacked him. Polytheus howled in pain and slithered back. The shadows soon disappeared. James roared and charged at Polytheus. When James got close enough, he extended his claws and raked them across Polytheus' chest. Black blood stained his claws. Devan crawled over to James' side and all of a sudden, his pincers caught fire with black and gray flames shooting from them. Devan crawled over and got a hold of Polytheus' arms. Polytheus cried in pain as his green-gray arms were turning black. Vera walked up to him and bared her teeth as she growled.

"It's over..." she growled.

Vera extended her claws and brought them down as if her claws were a sword. Polytheus' lifeless eyes closed and his breathing stopped. Devan released him and let his body collapse. The Animalita stood next to each other and looked back at the other Animal Spirits and the Kilvas Clan. The Animal Spirits cheered, whereas the Kilvas Clan quaked in fear. At breakneck speed, the Animalita charged at the Kilvas Clan. When the were on the other side of the horde, all of their lifeless bodies collapsed. The other Animal Spirits cheered. A light soon appeared and engulfed the Animalita once more. When the light died down, Vera, James, Gabriel, and Devan were back in their suits. They looked at each other and looked back at the lifeless Kilvas Clan bodies.

"Did... did we just...?" Vera began.

"You did! You four saved the world!" April said.

Their cheers only grew louder. The four teens looked at each other and they hugged. When they parted, April walked up to them.

"You four made all of us and the Spirit Animals proud... well done..." she said.

When the four teens nodded, they saw something over April's head. It was her Spirit Animal, Tigre. He smiled and nodded. They looked over at the other Animal Spirits, and saw their Spirit Animals smile and nod.

"Thank you..." they all mouthed.

Then, they faded away. The teens smiled at each other.

"We did it... we actually did it." James said.

"The world is finally free from the Kilvas Clan's claws." Devan said.

"And jaws." Gabriel added.

"But we all did it... together, not just as friends, but as a team." Vera said.

Her friends agreed. Then, a crowd started to gather around the Animalita and the Animal Spirits. They all thanked them for saving them and the world. Then, a photographer came up to them.

"If you don't mind Animalita, but can I take a quick picture of you guys?" he asked.

"Of course!" they said.

They posed for the picture and the flash went off.

"Perfect! Thank you, Animalita!" he said.

The teens smiled back at their Animal Spirit friends and they smiled back.

"Well, we all must be going citizens. Until we meet again!" Vera cried.

They all waved goodbye and either sprinted or flew in the opposite direction. They soon all went into the Hemlock Park Woods where they were saying their goodbyes.

"We promise that we'll visit you guys every now and then." Rosemary said.

"Alright. Keep in touch with us." Susan said.

"Will do." Cecilia said.

"Thanks for fighting on side." Dylan said.

"It was an honor." Tristan said.

"Maybe one day we should all go to the Boardwalk Fair, you know, just to have fun." Gabriel suggested.

"Now that's a good idea." Briella said.

"Great, it's a deal." Indigo said.

Vera looked at the Animal Spirits they have found.

"We're going to miss you guys... thank you ever so much for fighting with us." Vera said.

"Anytime." Zeke said.

"We better get going. Bye everyone! See you soon!" Taylor said.

"Bye guys!" Garrett said.

They all waved goodbye and the Animal Spirits they have found went through their portals and disappeared. There was nothing but silence. Vera and the others transformed back into their normal selves and walked out of the woods. They walked into the park and sat a table.

"So... what do we do from here?" James asked.

"You four are superheroes now. What do you think?" Susan asked.

"I guess... we'll stop any emergency that comes our way." Gabriel said.

"Exactly, and remember, if you guys ever need help, you guys have us, and the other Animal Spirits to call." April said.

"Right." Devan said.

"I know you guys will be amazing at stopping any crime that comes your way." Dylan said.

"I agree." Susan said.

"Thanks so much for fighting with us... we couldn't have done it without you." Vera said.

The other four nodded. She looked at the boys and winked. The boys nodded back. They then put their marked hands in the middle of the table. April and the others did the same.

"One... two... three..."

"ANIMALITA!"
