Chapter 7
I sighed as I boredly waited for the parents to come pick up their eggs from the daycare. They should be here soon.
I never was really bored working here, in fact, I always loved to be here. But since Leonard and the pigs arrived at the island. I wanted to be with them.
As I yawned from boredom, I heard the door open to the daycare.
"Hello, are you here to pick--" I looked up and saw Leonard walking in.
"No, I'm not here to pick up any eggs today." Leonard chuckled. He saw the eggs in little nests on the ground and grinned, "Wow, look at them beauties."
I smiled at him and looked at the eggs as well, "Yes, aren't they just the cutest? I could eat them all up!"
Leonard raised an eyebrow at me, he probably thought I sounded crazy.
"Oh, uh not literally, I--"
"Uh, yeah. Yeah." Leonard chuckled awkwardly. He cleared his throat as he picked up an egg, "So, um, do you always get to be around eggs often?" Leonard asked smiling widely at the egg.
I gently took the egg off of him causing him to frown. I ignored him and looked at the egg, "Mhm, the daycare is owned by my guardian." I gently then placed the egg back in its place, "She can't have hatchlings of her own, unfortunately. So instead, she decided to have this daycare set up." I then crossed my arms at Leonard, "Oh, also, please don't pick up the eggs. It's my job to make sure they're okay and don't accidentally...scramble heh."
"Scrambled eggs doesn't sound too bad," Leonard muttered.
I raised an eyebrow at him, "Scrambling an egg can bring a lot of complications to hatchlings. It's actually really bad."
Leonard raised his eyebrows, "Oh, yes! My apologies, I didn't mean to be so rude."
I just chuckled at him humorously, "It's alright. I know you don't know much about birds."
Soon enough, a mother bird came in. I scanned through the many eggs and found her's, "Here's your egg. Have a good day!" I smiled at her as I waved goodbye, the mother thanked me as she gave her egg a hug and left.
One by one, mother and father birds started to come in and happily left with their egg.
Leonard looked at me impressed, "How did you know which eggs were who's?"
I just shrugged at him, "Each egg has different colors, sizes, and shapes to them."
I was going into detail about how to differentiate between eggs. How some colors can be really similar so you would have to look at the shapes and sizes, but even then, sometimes those will look similar too.
"Ooh, I see. Mhm." Leonard nodded as he played with his beard.
I gave him a half-lidded expression as I raised an eyebrow, "You don't really care do you?"
He gave me a forced smile as he shrugged.
I rolled my eyes as I laughed, shaking my head. I walked towards the door and opened it, "Well, come on. I have to close the place for today."
🐽🐽🐽🐽
We were walking in the village together as the sun started to set. A bird was walking around the village, lighting up the torches to create some light.
As we were walking, Leonard suggested that we should have a nice dinner together.
Of course, I agreed!
We went to an outdoor restaurant where there were birds and pigs, some were couples and some were friends. All were seated at the round wooden tables with each table having candles that gave some ambiance.
A bird came by our table and gave us some menus. I recognized the bird and it turns out, he was the owner of the restaurant, "Hello, (Y/N). It is good to see you again." He looked over at Leonard and smiled widely, "Hello, Leonard! It is such an honor to serve you tonight."
"Oh, well, thank you," Leonard said, giving him an arrogant smile.
"In fact, everything is on the house." The owner nods.
"You're too kind," Leonard said to the owner.
We ordered our food, which was pretty much everything on the menu, even the worms and insects. I felt pretty bad that we ordered so much, but the bird didn't seem to mind...I think.
As we waited, I was fiddling with my hooves making them clack against each other. I saw Leonard's hoof reach over the table and placed it on top of mine.
I looked up at him in shock as my face started to heat up.
"What's on your mind, my dear," Leonard asked worriedly.
"Um," I murmured, "I don't know. I just have this feeling."
Leonard started to look even more worried, "Oh...uhm, a feeling about what?"
"About you...I guess?" I said unsurely.
Leonard furrowed his eyebrows, "Well, whatever Red said to you it's--"
I shook my head, "No, it's not about Red. I mean, I don't know why he is so against you. You have your moments and so does Red, but you've been so kind and patient and you're just so charming and--"
Leonard raised his eyebrows a bit. I cleared my throat, interrupting myself, as I tried to get back on topic, "Uh, anyways, what I actually wanted to say was, I just had a feeling that you were going to be leaving Bird Island fairly soon."
"Mhm," Leonard responded.
"And I was thinking..." Before I could finish, Ross ran up to Leonard and gestured for him to lower himself.
Ross began to whisper somethings. Causing Leonard to start to smile bigger and bigger, "Perfect!"
"What's perfect?" I asked out loud.
Leonard looked up at me while Ross went off somewhere else, "Oh, just something that just made our planning a whole lot easier."
"Planning?"
"We are...planning a surprise for everyone! But it won't happen for a few days." Leonard smiled confidently.
I was delighted, "Is it going to be like the banquet?"
Leonard began to smirk, "Something like it. Anyways, you were saying?"
I thought about what I was going to talk about, "Oh!" I exclaimed, remembering, "I want to go with you."
"Go...with me?"
I nodded, "Yes, I want to go to...wait. Where are we from?" I asked him. Realizing I had no idea what the name of our land was called.
"Piggy Island. That is P-I-double G-Y...uh, Island." Leonard grinned.
I softly laughed, "Yes, Piggy Island. I want to go there. I want to meet my biological family. I want to travel the sea with you. And to be honest, I just...I just want to be with you."
Leonard blinked at me a few times.
I let out a sigh, "I know I'll be leaving everyone. I know I'll be leaving Red and Daisy and Alex. But I could just come visit once in a while. Right?"
"Yes...of course!" Leonard nodded.
Our food finally came to our table, it was a huge mountain of food as the plates were stacked upon each other. The owner of the restaurant dropped the food onto the table as he huffed out, "E-enjoy!" He puffed.
"Whoa! This is a lot of food. We are going to be here forever." I said in awe, looking at the food.
"Ready to pig out?" Leonard asked me.
I laughed out loud, "I never really 'pigged out' before."
"Well, don't hold back. It's in your DNA! Just let yourself loose!" He exclaimed as he began to chow down.
I grabbed a hoof full of food and just shoved it in my mouth. The weird excitement of so much food of different flavors in my mouth just made me want to do it more.
The food started to disappear quickly and before I knew it. Everything was gone except for some apple cores, seeds, food bits, fish bones, and plates.
Leonard was using a fishbone to pick at his teeth. While I was just sitting there, amazed at how fast we ate and...the huge mess we made.
"Come on, (Y/N). Let's get out of here." Leonard said as he stood up.
I nodded at him and followed.
We walked passed the owner of the restaurant. When he saw the mess, his eyes were wide open and his beak was too.
"Thank you for the delicious full-course meal!" Leonard smiled at the owner as he walked by.
Meanwhile, I gave the owner an apologetic smile, "Sorry..." I whispered.
The owner didn't say anything as he just stared.
As we were walking away from the village I couldn't keep myself contained, "Wow! That was amazing and also kind of horrifying, but awesome! I never seen so much food disappear so fast!"
Leonard started to laugh out loud, "That's what it's like to be a pig."
I beamed up at him, "Well, I love it! I love being a pig. Thank you, Leonard. For teaching me how to be one."
"Of course...my dear."
I couldn't help but notice the heat creeping up my face, the way he said it was different from all the other times. It brought fuzzy feelings in my stomach. Something I never really felt before.
Before we knew it. We were both standing in front of Leonard's ship and my house.
"Well, goodnight Leonard. I'll see you tomorrow." I said to him.
As I was walking off, I felt a tug on my hoof. I glanced down at my hoof and trailed up the arm. Leonard was holding my hoof. He let me go as I turned towards him.
"I was just going to ask you if...you would like a tour of the Porkchop Express!" Leonard smiled, I could tell he was trying to be confident, but his eyes gave away that he was really nervous.
I gave him an amused eyebrow raise, "At this time?"
"Y-yes!"
"Sure, why not." I giggled.
🐽🐽🐽🐽
Leonard led me inside the ship, but before showing me the inside, he first gave me a tour outside of the ship called the deck. He then showed me the massive mast, along with the anchor, which was a boulder wrapped around in rope, the same one that destroyed a part of my house.
Leonard then led me back inside the ship. It smelled of wood and the sea. It was kind of dark, only little green lights stuck to walls lit the hallways with a green tint.
Leonard showed me a few rooms, all of which had many wooden crates and some had the words TNT on them. Some of the crates were open and I was able to see little red sticks called dynamite. There were also those sticks with the red rounded ends called plungers. But the most interesting one was a room filled with trampolines. In the middle of the room was a trampoline with a hole through it that seemed to even go through the floor.
Leonard just groaned when he saw it.
As we went to the next door, I saw a book on one of the stacked crates. I picked it up and read the title. It says 'Fifty Shades of Green' I assumed it was a book that talked about...well...fifty shades of green. I started to read some of it and my eyes became wide as I saw the...choice of words and the theme of it all.
"And this is the--" Leonard stopped suddenly.
I looked up from the book as his eyes darted from the book to me. I noticed he was going to reach for the book. So I pulled it back from him, giving him a teasing smirk, "You read this stuff, don't you?"
"I do not!" Leonard barked out, "It's probably one of the other pigs!" He exclaimed as he tries to take the book from me.
I skimmed through the book as I tried to hold off Leonard with my elbow and my back, but he was almost twice my size so he easily snatched it out of my hooves.
Leonard snapped the book shut and placed it under his arm as he gave me a glare and a huff, along with a soft pig snort.
I just smiled up at him, knowing full well I just made him flustered.
Leonard cleared his throat as he reintroduced me to the room, "Anyways, this is the vehicle room."
He opened the door and my eyes widen in awe. In the middle was a vehicle spinning as it honked a jingle. There were other vehicles around it as well.
Leonard walked inside and I followed in.
There was one type of vehicle that caught my eye. It was on two wheels. It looked like a bicycle, but bigger and had thicker wheels.
"What is that..." I murmured, pointing at it.
"Oh, that's a motorbike called the Pig Chopper." Leonard said as he stood by me, "Are you interested in driving it?"
I looked at him in surprise, "C-can I?!"
Leonard smiled at me as he shrugged, "I don't see why not. Almost every pig knows how to drive a vehicle. Wouldn't hurt if you learned how to."
"Yes! I would love to!"
"You could start learning tomorrow," Leonard said as he walked out of the room.
I let out a little snort of excitement as I followed him close behind.
We went to the next room, which was a bunch of sparkly cowboy costumes. We went down another few rooms with random things and random facilities and that was the end of the tour.
"Thanks for the tour, Leonard." I smiled. I started to awkwardly look around, as I realized I needed to find the exit, "Well, I should let you go to bed now."
Leonard gave me a smile, as he fiddles with his hooves together, "Actually...(Y/N). I was wondering if you like to stay the night."
I blinked at him a few times. My mind started to jumble around.
'Stay the night?! Wait, he set me up! It's okay. It's just staying the night. It's not a problem. It's not a problem if you don't make it a problem. Do you want to stay the night? Sure, yes, maybe?'
"It's fine if--"
"No!" I exclaimed loudly.
Leonard looked taken aback so I spoke up again, "Sorry, I mean, yes. I don't mind staying the night...with you."
Leonard looked relieved, he held out his hoof and I gently grabbed it as he led me the way.
🐽🐽🐽🐽
I was looking out onto the ocean on a large ship. I looked in the distance and saw an island, that looked similar to Bird Island, but not quite like Bird Island.
The ship beached itself on the sand and I started to get off of the ship. Once I did, two pigs ran up to me and started to hug me tightly.
"Our daughter is home!"
I snort and smiled at them and started to hug them tightly, snuggling them.
Once they let me go, Leonard pulled me into his arms, and when he did, he kissed me passionately. I could start to feel my eyes roll back as I enjoyed the kiss and I held onto him.
But then I heard a loud snore.
I could feel myself opening up my eyes as if I was waking up, and when I did, my eyes shot open. Followed by a sharp gasp which caused me to make a quiet squeal.
Leonard and I were sharing his bed, which was how I remembered, but we fell asleep with our backs to each other.
And now, we were facing each other, touching nose to nose and I am pretty sure I accidentally just kissed him too.
'What do I do?!'
I also think I accidentally woke him up, because he slowly began to open his eyes, and just like me, he gasped as his eyes shot open.
My reaction time was very slow, I pushed him back, causing him to fall off the bed with a loud thud.
I flinched when he fell. I started to slowly peer over the edge of the bed and when I did, I made eye contact with Leonard who seemed annoyed, "You are such a bed hog."
I gave him a sorry grin, "Hehe, sorry, guess you learn something new every day."
We briefly washed up and grabbed some breakfast before we started the day.
When Leonard brought out the motorcycle. I felt like I was a young piglet again, receiving her first bicycle.
Leonard sat behind me as I sat in front of him, "Alright, put this key in."
I grabbed the key from him and placed it in the obvious slot and turned it.
"Okay, good, good. Now you press that button." Leonard said as he pointed.
I wasn't sure where he pointed, but I pressed a button. Turns out it was to turn on music.
🎶🎶🎶
"No, not that one! That one." Leonard corrected.
I pressed the other button and the motorcycle rumbled as it turned on.
"Okay and now you have to turn on the throttle on the right handle, gently...gently."
I turned it and the motorcycle began to rumble even louder. I turned it again, but a bit harder than anticipated and I began to shoot forward. Flying down the beach.
"(Y/N)! SLOW DOWN!" Leonard yelled as he grabbed onto me.
I didn't listen and just kept going as excitement rushed through me.
🎶Hold up, no, you didn't bow, bow
I ain't the chick to walk behind you 'round town
Just 'cause you're packin', packin', whoop, down south
That don't mean I'm ever gonna take it lying down, baby🎶
"WOOOOHOOO!" I screamed out.
I began to feel a bit more serious as I leaned forward and stuck the tip of my tongue out.
🎶Oh, I'm a machine when I do it
I'll be catching fire, gasoline when I do it
Uh-huh
Just 'cause you're packin', packin', whoop, down south
That don't mean I'm ever gonna take it lying down🎶
I drove down the beach as I tried to dodge all the pigs and birds.
"(Y/N)! Watch out!!" Leonard yelled out.
"EXCUSE ME, COMING THROUGH! SORRY!"
🎶Baby, you're the man
But I got the, I got the, I got the power
You make rain
But I make it, I make it, I make it shower
You should know, I'm the one who's in control
I'll let you come take the wheel, long as you don't forget🎶
I turned away from the crowded areas as I tried not to hurt anyone or get anyone killed.
🎶Who got the power?🎶
The motorcycle roughly jumped up and landed back down on the ground hard as we popped up from the seat briefly.
I decided it'll be the best bet to drive through where there won't be birds or pigs. The jungle.
🎶Who got the power?🎶
Leonard squeezed my shoulders as he was panicking, "W-where are you going?! You're going to get us killed!"
🎶Hold up
Who got the power🎶
"No, I'm not! This is fun!" I shouted behind him as I laughed out loud, "Don't worry! You won't get killed!"
"(Y/N)! You just STARTED DRIVING!"
🎶Who got the power?🎶
I started to dodge left and right around the trees and bushes.
I ducked a few times, missing the lower branches. Unfortunately for Leonard, he didn't see them and kept getting slapped with branches.
"Hehe sorry..."
I continued to dodge the trees and the upcoming boulders and bushes. This was like playing with death.
🎶Hold up
My turn
I make this look easy, tick Tick, boom, like gasoline-y
Yeah, they call me Lamborghini, 'cause I know just what I'm worth
Z-z-z-zero to a hunnid, b-b-body make' em stutter
Start my engine, push the button, 'cause I'm gon' be coming first
Yeah, I'm a machine when I do it
I'll be catching fire, gasoline when I do it
Just 'cause you're packin', packin', whoop, down south
That don't mean I'm ever gonna take it lying down🎶
I saw a little place where I could make a jump across.
Leonard saw it too and started to shake me, "(Y/N)...(Y/N)!! You're NOT GOING TO MAKE THAT JUMP!"
"YES, I AM! Watch me." I replied as I gave him a smirk.
I made sure I was going the fastest that I can. There was a little ramp-like hill up ahead and I aligned myself as I rode on it and jumped.
Everything seemed like it was going in slow motion. My body was floating in the air for a quick moment as I was grinning...until...
🎶Baby, you're the man
But I got the, I got the, I got the power
You make rain
But I make it, I make it, I make it shower
You should know, I'm the one who's in control
I'll let you come take the wheel, long as you don't forget🎶
...the motorcycle slammed down on the other side successfully.
"Told ya." I smiled at Leonard over my shoulder.
🎶Who got the power🎶
"LOOK OUT!" Leonard shouted as he pointed.
I looked forward and there was a large tree up ahead. "AH!" I quickly turned away, dodging it.
I continued to get out of the jungle, but I took a weird route that had rougher terrain.
We were jiggling up and down along with our voices. As we both started to become a little nervous.
🎶Who got the power🎶
I finally made it out, the motorcycle jumped out of the jungle and I continued to drive to find a safe place to stop.
🎶Holdup
Who got the power🎶
I finally turned the motorcycle and squeezed the brakes as it slid across the grass. It screeched to a halt and I quickly turned off the engine.
🎶Who got the--🎶
The music stopped and Leonard fell off the motorcycle as his legs shook. I hopped off and pushed the kickstand down.
"That was EXHILARATING! I was going so fast. I felt so powerful and--!" As I turned around all I saw was green. I slowly looked up and Leonard was looming over me, "Um--"
"Are you insane?!" He shouted at me, "We could of died! That was really dangerous! That was really..."
I looked down in shame, ready for him to beat me down.
"That was...actually really impressive. Are you sure this was your first time?" Leonard asked, his voice softened.
I looked up at him and nodded as I tried to hide my smile, "Guess you learn something new every day?"
He just sighed, placing a hoof on his face, "Okay, well, let's just not do that again." Leonard stated as he started to walk away.
I ran up beside him and slipped my hoof into his, "Sorry, if I scared you."
Leonard looked at me in surprise for a split second but then he looked away as he let out a funny scoff, "I wasn't scared...just mildly surprised, my dear."
I let out a little laugh, "If you say so."
