Chapter 19
As soon as all the other demons are awake, they head back to their castle. Herobrine is waiting for them in the throne room, looking angrier than they've ever seen.
"Well, well, well, look who decided to show up. I saw part of the battle. Nice knockout bomb, Ann."
Her face goes completely pale.
"Letting the angels come and get me? That was a little over the line," Herobrine continues, his voice gradually getting louder. He uses his magic to pin the demon girl against the wall. A strangled gasp escapes her lips, and everyone stares at Herobrine.
"You used to be a leader. You used to fight without question! Now you stand away from the battle and refuse to kill angels!" he yells.
"My Lord, please," Khali begs. Herobrine just shoves her aside.
"I raised you to fight. I raised you to be an assassin!"
He throws Ann across the throne room, and all air leaves her body. She tries to get up, but collapses to the floor again.
"Stop it!" everyone starts pleading.
Herobrine ignores them and picks Julie up.
"You were supposed to kill their captain, but you failed that too. You were a captain at one point, now you're nothing."
He throws her as well, and she lands on the ground next to Ann. The blonde demon manages to stand shakily, and Herobrine strides over. He punches her in the gut, causing her to stumble. She's too weak to fight back.
He takes a dagger out of his belt and slashes it across her stomach, and she cries out in pain. It's not deep enough to kill, but it's deep enough to hurt like hell and slowly bleed her out.
"The next person to retaliate gets this too, but maybe I won't be so easy on you," Herobrine snarls. He cuts Ann's shoulders and dislocates one with the heel of his hand, causing her to scream in agony. She falls to the ground, writhing in pain. Her shirt is soaked in blood and torn in the places where she was cut.
"Everyone to your room!" Herobrine yells. When Libby goes to help the fallen demons, the Dark Lord glares at her. "Leave her there. If she's still alive in the morning, you can help her."
Julie manages to get up and stumble after the others, but Ann can't. Pain shoots through her body like electricity and her wings ache too much to carry her away.
Herobrine stalks to his headquarters with Camryn on his heels, and Ann realizes that if she doesn't get help soon, she'll bleed to death. Her eyelids grow heavy, but she continues to fight sleep. Eventually, it occurs to her that death in her sleep will be less painful, so she lets exhaustion wash over her.
Just as she's about to pass out, wingbeats echo through the throne room. Strong arms raise the demon girl off the ground, and she pries her eyes open just long enough to see the glowing white wings of an angel. Relief fills her and she falls into unconsciousness again.

Adam races back to Notch's castle with the blood soaked demon in his arms. He doesn't know what overcame him, but he knew he couldn't leave her there.
Mitch will probably thank me, the angel thinks.
As he flies through the castle door, Jason's voice rings through the hall.
"Did you find out their plans, Adam? What was going—" he stops mid sentence when he actually lays eyes on Adam and the demon in his arms. "What happened?"
"Herobrine was torturing her. He was the one who did this," Adam explains. "Can you please go get Ty?"
Jason nods and races down the hallway, soon returning with Ty.
"Dude, what the hell did Herobrine do?" he asks. Obviously, Jason explained the situation.
"He threw her across the castle throne room, punched her in the gut, cut her stomach and shoulders with a knife, and then dislocated one of her shoulders," Adam replies. Ty shudders and flaps his Ender wings.
"Ty, go get Notch and Quintana. Jason, go get Mitch," Adam requests.
"Why should I get Mitch?" Jason questions.
"Because he's obviously crushing on this demon. Just do it, okay?"
