Prologue

"Gabe, have you ever been to Earth?" Little Castiel asked his big brother as they sat together atop a small cloud, watching the Earth turn.

"Once. Landed on the Titanic of all things. That did not end well. They were practically about to make me walk the plank, when I decided to create an iceberg as a distraction. Turns out, they crashed into the damn thing. So, yeah, not good."

"Do you think I could go one day?"

Gabriel smiled, ruffling his baby brother's hair. "Maybe someday, little bro."

Castiel climbed onto his brother's lap. "Do you know why Luci hates the humans so bad?"

"Because he thinks Dad loves them more than us."

This made Castiel think. "He... he doesn't. Right?"

"Of course not. He loves all of us the same amount, and don't let someone like Lucifer convince you otherwise."

Castiel nodded. "Okay." He looked back down at the Earth. "What's that place called?" He pointed to the smallest of the seven large islands.

"That's called Australia. It's home to kangaroos and Steve Irwin."

Castiel tilted his head to the side, scrunching his eyebrows. "What's a Steve Irwin?"

Gabe chuckled. "He's a human who wrestles alligators and says 'Crikey' a lot."

Castiel giggled. "That's a funny word. And what's a 'kankaroo'?"

"It's kangaroo, Cassie. And it looks like-" He created a kangaroo doll out of nothing and gave it to him. "-this."

Castiel gasped, a bright smile lighting up his face as he hugged his kangaroo doll that had red button eyes. "I love him!"

"It's actually a girl, Cassie. See the little pouch on its belly? That's where she keeps the baby until it's old enough to hop around on its own."

Castiel reached into the pouch and pulled out a piece of chocolate.

"And the doll has an endless supply of candy. So you'll never run out. Or have to ask me for any."

Castiel hugged his brother tightly. "Thanks, Gabey!"

Gabe chuckled, returning the hug. "No problem, little bro."

They soon returned to the main cloud of Heaven where Michael and Lucifer where fighting--again--while the other angels spectated.

"Lucifer!" Michael growled. "Stop setting a bad example for our little brothers and sisters!"

"Michael!" Lucifer sneered. "Quit being such a turd!"

Gabriel nonchalantly strolled right up to them. "Guys! Can't we all just get along?"

"Stay out of this, Gabe!" Lucifer snapped.

Gabe scoffed. "What're you gonna do, Luci? Kill me? Ooh, I'm so scared of the oldest baby in the universe."

"Gabriel, now is not a very good time." Michael grumbled.

"Oh, am I interrupting a Luci-tantrum?"

"I do not throw tantrums!" Lucifer screamed.

Gabriel groaned. "Where is Dad when you need him? Maybe he should get down here and smite your ass."

"What're you, joking?" Zach chuckled. "C'mon, where's the popcorn?"

"Shut up, Zach." Gabriel and Michael both snapped.

"Oh, yeah, way to set a good example." Lucifer smirked.

"Lucifer, how many times to I have to tell you; you cannot keep acting up this way! You're irresponsible, disobedient, and selfish!"

"Selfish? Please. I give, and I give, and I give!"

"Oh really?"

"Yeah. The other day, I gave Samandriel a wedgie." He chuckled.

"That wasn't funny, Luci!" Samandriel shouted from the crowd of angels.

Michael grabbed Lucifer by the collar of his shirt. "One of these days, Dad with have me strike you down, and you will regret the things you've done."

"Oh really? Try me." He grinned maliciously.

Castiel watched all of this from afar, both confused and astounded. Lucifer caught him staring and his smile grew. "Oh, Cassie?" He called. "You wanna go down to Earth?"

"Leave him out of this!" Gabriel exclaimed.

"I can show you Earth, Cassie! And not just from a cloud. But in person!"

This caught Castiel's interest. He did want to see the Earth. In person.

"I can show it to you! Just before I destroy it!" He cackled.

Now he wasn't so interested. He didn't want Earth destroyed. Gabriel approached him and took his hand, flying them somewhere else.

"Why did he say he'd destroy Earth?" He asked his older brother.

"Because he's nothing but a big bully," Gabriel deadpanned. "Don't listen to a word he says, got it?"

Castiel nodded. He yawned, stretching his arms. Normally, angels don't sleep, but he was still young. He would require rest until he received his wings, which would not happen for some time.

"Come on, let's get you to bed." Gabriel took him to his little bed and tucked him in.

"Will you read me something?" Castiel asked tiredly. "I love it when you read."

Gabe grinned. "Okay. Let's pick up where we left off in the last one." He stated, creating the book from out of nowhere.

"I really like this one. And I wanna know who did it!"

"Trust me, kid, so do I."

He began reading. "Fred Narracott sat by the engine thinking to himself that this was a queer lot. Not at all his idea of what Mr. Owen's guests were likely to be. He'd expected something altogether more classy. Togged up women and gentlemen in yachting costume and all very rich and important looking."

"I like Fred." Castiel smiled. "Is he like the other Fred?"

Gabriel smirked. "Well he doesn't have a twin named George, if that's what you mean."

He continued. "Not at all like Mr. Elmer Robson's parties. A faint grin came to Fred Narracott's lips as he remembered the millionaire's guests. That had been a party if you like -- and the drink they got through! This Mr. Owen must be a very different sort of gentleman. Funny it was, thought Fred, that he'd never set eyes on Mr. Owen -- or his Missus either. Never been down here yet, he hadn't. Everything ordered and paid for by that Mr. Morris. Instructions always very clear and payment prompt, but it was odd, all the same. The papers said there was some mystery about Mr. Owen. Mr. Narracott agreed with them. Perhaps, after all, it was Mrs. Gabrielle Turl who bought the island. But that theory departed from him as he surveyed his passengers. Not this lot - none of them looked likely to have anything to do with a film star."

He looked over at Castiel and saw that he was fast asleep, holding his kangaroo doll with red button eyes close. Gabe smiled at the sight, giving him a kiss on the head. "Goodnight, Cassie." He whispered softly.
