Chapter 15
A/N:
Daryl Dixon is hot.
Rick Grimes is hot.
I'm not hot, I wanna be hot.
Daryl pulled away from our embrace and he wiped his face with the back of his hand.
I looked up at him, and suddenly felt sad that he wasn't hugging me. The heat from his body was gone and shivers ran up my spine.
A few sobs escaped my lips but I took a deep breathe trying to calm them. My eyes lingered over the tiles for a few moments and I looked up to notice that Carol was gone. I made a quick mental note to tell her thank you for helping me.
My body was lifted off the floor and I was shocked for a few seconds until I noticed that it was Daryl carrying me in his arms.
He laid me on the bed and started to walk out the door.
"Where you going?" I croaked out. My voice was still raw from crying.
"Outside." His voice was suddenly harsh again and I was rather shocked at how fast his mood changed.
"Daryl, what's wrong?" I scooted to the end of the bed and reached for his arm, but he walked out and turned back to me.
"Yer slitting your wrists for attention, like a coward. Yer just a spoiled 'ittle girl! You 'ave everthin' and you still try to take the pussy way out." With that, he walked out the hotel room and slammed the door behind him.
Tears threatened to spill at his sudden out lash. Just a minute ago he seemed like he cared, and now I'm the one in fault? On top of that, he called me spoiled. He doesn't even know me or what happened and he thinks its okay to go ahead and make assumptions.
By now, tears were running down my cheeks and falling onto the white duvet I sat on.
I couldn't be alone with my thoughts so I got off the bed and headed over to Tia's room.
My hand hit the door twice before I heard a soft voice go "Come in".
When I entered, Tia sat at the table with contents from her bag sprawled out everywhere. Water colors and acrylic paint laid on top of the table while Tia went through a sketchbook that laid in front of her.
Merle sat on the couch watching me as I walked over to Tia.
As soon as she saw my blood shot eyes she stood up and pulled me out of the room.
"Where are we going?" Her hand stayed on my arm as she pulled me up the stairs, she didn't say a word.
We arrived in front a door and Tia walked in, motioning me to follow.
She handed me a long sword from a sheath on her back, I gladly took it.
"Let it out. Just fuck it up." She gestured around the room which a wide variety of plates, pots, and jars.
This is what I needed.
I thought about Daryl and walked up to the kitchen counter.
His words echoed in my head and I lost it.
My sword came down on the counter and broke the plates in half. I pushed the plates off angrily and watched as they dropped to the floor and shattered. Satisfaction rushed through my veins and I headed to a table that sat in front of a couch to do even more damage.
The ceramic jar shattered along with two more as I hacked away at them. Anger and sadness filled me up and I slashed at the walls and screamed.
Once I was done, I stood up to inspect the damage. The floor was littered with glass, wood, and ceramic pieces of jars, mugs, plates, and and other breakable items. The walls were lined with dents from the sword and the wallpaper was shredded up.
I turned toward Tia who wrapped me into a hug, "We need a girls night."
I simply nodded and she pulled away.
"Let's go get Beth and Maggie then."
The thought of a girls night had excited me and I decided to go along with it.
~
Tia had gathered Beth and Maggie from outside. We were sitting in the room next to the one I trashed.
"What happened?" Beth's voice shook me out of my trance and I looked over at Beth.
She sat next to Maggie while she put her hair up into a pony tail, a few strands hung loose around her face.
My mind wandered back to the question asked and I decided to tell them, I couldn't keep this hidden forever.
I told them and Maggie and Beth scooted over to hug me once they heard what had happened.
"Did you tell Daryl yet?" Maggie pulled away from me.
"No, why does it matter?" I heard Beth laugh and Maggie shook her head.
"Do you not see the way he looks at you? He cares about you! Even though he may be a bipolar wreck, you should tell him." Maggie walked over to the pantry and pulled out a box of crackers.
Tia cleared her throat once Maggie had returned to our little circle, "How about we play a game?"
"What game?" I asked.
Tia took the crackers from Maggie and ate one, "Truth or Dare?"
"Yes!" Both girls screamed in sync while I groaned.
I never really liked truth or dare since I never knew what I was getting myself into.
The girls seemed to have decided without me since their first question was directed at me.
"Truth or Dare?" Tia asked.
"Dare, I need a distraction anyways."
I heard Maggie snicker as she leaned in to whisper something to Tia. Tia's eyes widened for a moment and she nodded.
"I dare you to steal Daryl's crossbow."
My heart skipped a beat and I shook my head in disbelief.
"No way! He'll kill me."
"Or you can kiss him." Beth butted in.
"Fine, where is he." I had decided to go with the dare, it was just a game anyways.
"Down by the campfire out front. Well, that's where he was last time I saw him."
I stood up and walked out the door, "Be back in 15 minutes or less."
~
As I walked down the stairs I tried to think of a plan.
'What happens if he's hunting? He's probably not even here' I thought. Thousands of situations were going through my head. My heart beats got faster as I walked closer to the two wooden doors that led outside. In front of the hotel was the first place I would check for Daryl
The sun shined down on me as soon as I walked outside. My arm swung up to cover my eyes from the blinding rays and I squinted as I looked for Daryl.
Rick was out in the front hauling pieces of wood around and setting them up in certain places.
Carol was washing her clothing in front of a fire pit and no one else seemed to be in sight.
I gave up looking and decided to walk back into the hotel, but suddenly stopped when I saw a figure leaning against the wall a few yards from me.
Daryl.
He sat there with his eyes closed and his back against the wall, a cigarette was placed in between his fingers and a trail of smoke exited his mouth. I cautiously took a step toward him trying to be as quiet as possible.
My eyes landed on something sitting a few feet away from him. His crossbow. Perfect.
I was now standing to the side of him. His eyes were still closed and I took a deep breath before slowly reaching out for his crossbow.
Relief flooded through me when I felt the solid handle of the crossbow beneath my hand.
I turned away and tried to lift crossbow up, but was struggling quite a bit, it was heavier than it looked. The hot sun wasn't helping me much either, sweat was beginning to form on my forehead and I wiped it off before giving the crossbow one last tug. I felt it lift off the ground and I got ready to sprint back into the hotel.
As soon as my foot lifted off the ground a hand gripped my wrist and I whipped around in surprise.
Daryl sat there with his eyes open. His eyes trailed down to my wrist and then to the cross bow, his face lit up with confusion.
The pain in my wrist started getting worse due to Daryl's grip, and I was scared it would start bleeding again.
"This isn't what it looks like." I muttered and tried to move the crossbow behind my back. Maybe he'll forget I have it, who knows?
"What is it then?" He released his grip from my wrist and took a drag of his cigarette. I let out a cough as the smoke went into my face.
I pulled it out of his mouth and distinguished it against the wall before throwing it to the ground with a look of disgust on my face.
"Smoking is such a turn off." Daryl raised his eyebrows and I shook my head frantically, realizing what I had just said.
"Not that you turn me on... I-it's just that your gonna die faster because of this. Not that I care. I just-"
He cut me off and I was grateful that he didn't let me continue.
"That so?" His voice was smug and I knew he wouldn't let me forget this.
I shrugged and turned around hoping he wouldn't realize I had his crossbow.
"Whatcha got there girly?"
I turned around ignoring the internal screaming that was inside me.
"I found this sick crossbow. Pretty rad eh?"
"Give it back."
"No."
He stood up and walked away from the wall. My feet tripped over each other as I tried to walk backwards away from him while hugging the crossbow to my chest.
His hands darted out to grab it and he tried to pull it out of my grip.
"NOOOOOOOO, stop!" I tugged it back and Daryl released it causing my fist to collide with my lip.
"Fuck! What the hell Daryl? Are you seriously trying to steal my crossbow? Screw you!" The irony taste of blood hit my taste buds and I spat it out on the ground beside me and pushed the crossbow towards him.
"Yours? Ye seriously not 'iving this act up?"
"What act? There's no act." I shook my head and stomped back upstairs to explain to the girls why I had a split lip and no cross bow.
Daryl's P.O.V. (Whoop Whoop)
I stared in shock as Vogue stomped back into the hotel.
What the hell was she doing. That girl was playing with my head and it was driving me insane.
I didn't know what she was doing to me, but all I knew was I didn't like it.
Why was she making me cry when I saw her in such a pained state? Dixon's never cry. I could hear Merle already making fun of me.
Why did I care what happened to her?
I shook my head trying to quickly dismiss the thoughts.
This is why I don't get close to people. I gotta stay away from Vogue before something bad happens.
I walked through the front doors to look for Merle.
