Hello! Welcome to the first-ever The One Series stand-alone spin-off novel! As you can tell, this is a book all about Alex Tredinnick!

So let's clear some stuff:

Why am I writing Alex's story? For several months now, I had been wanting to write Alex's story. I could even feel Alex wanting me to write this. So here I am! Plus, The One Series is focused on a fangirl's point-of-view, which is Alyson's. She doesn't know what happened behind the scenes regarding Connect8, which is true! No one knows what goes on with pop groups unless they themselves come out with their truths. With this story, we get Alex's side of things. We'll get flashbacks of Connect8's first run prior to The One Series, which is set from 2001-2004. This main plot will be set during both The Wanted and Addictive Lies.

What is the genre of this story? TAoAT is a New Adult Drama/Romance, though it's placed in Teen Fiction. Despite the fact that most of the characters are teenagers, they're either done with high school or are nearing the end. The education system in the UK is different than here in America. So there will be some adult situations mixed with coming-of-age stuff. This is also an LGBT story due to Alex's journey to finally acknowledging what he is. This work may get a mature rating eventually, but not right now.

Will we see the UTurn members? Hell yeah! They're definitely in this story, but they'll be referenced for a while, and they'll eventually get speaking parts. Once again, all of this is written in Alex's POV, though this will be written in Third Person Limited.

Connect8 will be referenced as juniorConnect for the majority of the story, as that was their name prior to being renamed Connect8. I'll explain in the next section:

Connect8/juniorConnect is a fictionalized version of an actual early 2000s British teen pop group, S Club Juniors/S Club 8. Alex is a fictionalized version of the members of the band. Here's the photo of them:

For the flashback scenes, I'm doing as much as I could to be as accurate as possible regarding Connect8's first run. There's a series on Instagram where Jay is interviewing everyone. Since the core of this work is a soap opera, events will be melodramatic for the sake of drama. I might one day run this by Aaron, but in the meantime, I'm going off with the information I was able to pull from.

Now this is all explained (hopefully?), the first chapter will premiere this Friday on Wattpad! Updates will be every Friday evening. I'm trying to write ahead as much as I can. So if I miss a week or two, you'll know why.
