So, my next RA fanfiction was actually inspired by a one-shot I have written for the Ranger's Apprentice Amino.

It is "What if?" story about Halt.

The one-shot is quite short, but hopefully it'll spark your excitement.

What if Halt didn't help the ranger at the bar?

Ferris had driven him out. He had no home in Hibernia. But how did that get him here?

Halt sat on a pillow in a cave. Golden coins, weapons, and many supplies were scattered around him. Pondering life, he wondered if he had made a wrong choice.

Ever since he left Clonmel, his life had been miserable. There was no one there for him. No one there to help him. And definitely no one there to talk to him.

But recently, Halt had wondered if things would have been different if he hadn't messed with the ranger at the bar, but if he had helped him.

He then stubbornly shook his head, knowing that the past was the past. He couldn't change it.

Suddenly he stood up, grabbing his bow and walking out of the cave. It was about time he had a talk with the Temujai horses. He needed them. Not just for their speed and intelligence, but their skill of survival.

Survival was key. And he would do anything to get it.

I'm rereading this, and it's absolutely horrible. This one-shot needs major editing, but meh... I'm sure the actual fanfiction released mid 2019 would be much better.

So in case, you haven't figured out, the story is about what happens if Halt didn't help Crowley at the bar. It is stated(I believe in the Early Years) that Halt met Crowley and became a ranger by helping Crowley fight off some people at a bar. At that time, Araluen was at ruin because of Morgarath, Duncan was imprisoned, and the rangers had been turned into some useless force. And everything is saved because of Halt.

So if Halt never met Crowley, if he never helped him, Araluen would still be in ruin. And Morgarath would probably be king.
