Sunclan had been spitting out patrols looking for the Amberlily and her friend ever since Rockfall had that dream. Not one of them came back with the Amberlily or even her friend. Frustration surged through every single one of them as they nibbled on small rat bones they had found in the snow. No one had had a decent meal in what seemed like forever. Not even crow food. By the time the cats got to the food, the bugs had already eaten the meat and all that was left were the bones. Suddenly, another patrol burst through the door, panting. This was normal by now, so one one bothered to look up."You find them?" A cat asked. "No, but we did get attacked by a-""No one cares at this point! We just want to know if you got them or not, and you didn't, so shut your peep hole!" A very cranky cat hissed. The patrol dropped more bones, nothing new until...."Hey! Why do you have blood on your lips? Tell me Eaglepaw!" One of the patrol cats hissed. Rockfall turned his head to see what was happening."I....????." He whispered."Speak up, or I'll pull out your whiskers!" One of the patrol cats hissed at Eaglepaw."I.... I found a skinny mouse and ate it... don't hurt me please! I was hungry! I just wanted a taste, but I accidentally ate it!" Eaglepaw  desperately mewed."You piece of FOXDUNG!" Hissed Birdflight as he tore off Eaglepaw's ear, leaving only a nub. "That's quite enough!" Rockfall yowled at Birdflight."We are only slowly killing ourselves by fighting, we only need to keep it together until we find the Amberlily and her friend!" Eaglepaw wimpered and shrunk backwards, the other apprentices giving him looks of disapproval."I know this sounds disgusting, but food is food. Feed the queen the piece of ear. She needs strength for her and her kits." Rockfall meowed to Birdflight, he was cringing at the thought of it. Birdflight stared at him for a bit before nodding and bringing the piece of ear to the queen. Please come soon Amberlily, we need you. Rockfall thought.
