The world fluttered into view as Peter's eyes opened slowly. He looked around to see a fuzzy blue ceiling. His eyes focused but his vision was disrupted by something.A bip plastic tube was in front of him. The teen tried to move but instantly regretted the decision.
Not only was he in a ton of pain, but he also felt many different, things poking out of his skin. He instantly stopped moving, and layed still for a few minutes before trying again.
This time he managed to lift his arm, and saw four different IVs protruding from his right arm. His eyes went wide and his breathing would've sped up if it weren't for the fact that he couldn't control his breathing. This freaked him out even more, and he pushed himself up from his resting position, not noticing the sharp pain that flooded over his body.
Once his back was to a wall, his eyes filled with tears at the tremendous pain. He lifted his arm, breaking out into more tears as he felt the thing on his mouth. It was an oxygen mask. He tried to reach behind his head to pull it up but his arm was barely able to bend at the elbow without bringing more tears.
Soon, he adjusted to the feeling of being unable to breathe, and waited for the tears to run down his face. After his vision cleared, Peter's new position helped him understand where he was.
The IVs would have probably been a dead give away for most, but Peter's mind always assumed the worst possible (even if that included torture), but the sight of a TV in front of him playing the news, an open window with a gentle breeze flowing in, and the hospital gown he wore confirmed that Peter Parker was in fact in a hospital.
A small vase of flowers was set off to the side in a bouquet of yellows. It included daisies, roses and tulips. He smiled, and reached for the note. By now he was used to the ache that his bones emitted when he moved them, and the poking feeling the IV lines gave him whenever he moved.
The card was also yellow, and decorated in silver sparkles. It read, "You may be in a coma, but we still love you!" His brows furrowed at the message, barely noticing the scratched out love wich was replaced by a scribbled on like. He flipped the card open with his left hand. The inside was a scene with people sobbing and crying. In fact, sobs rang out from the card. Peter read the rest of the card, which said, "You better wake up soon we can't live without you!"
Slipped into the cheesey card was a slip of paper, signed by everyone in his English class, including Flash, whose signature was a bit smaller and tucked off to the side.
Peter would've found it thoughtful except for the fact on that he had just woken up from a coma. The sobbing stopped when his card closed, and he propped it up next to the flowers. That's when he noticed the picture frames.
The most noticeable one was of May. She was smiling at the camera with her right arm wrapped around her nephew, who was looking sourly at her. You could see the beginning of a smirk on his lips though, and that made Peter smile.
The second frame was smaller and in the back. It was the picture some intern had taken of Peter holding up his Stark Internship plaque with Tony, not to mention that the certificate was upside-down. Peter smiled at the memory. He struggled to remember how he got to this room. His first thought was of who put him into this gown, though that was ridiculous for the situation. He turned to his right, spotting a door with windows to it's right, though the blinds were drawn.
He saw two empty chairs with a table in between, which was also littered with objects from teddy bears to cards. Peter was about to try and get out of the bed, when he spotted an orange flashing light. A nurse hat was above it, so Peter assumed it would call a nurse. He pressed the button.

Mary had just gotten on duty and had begun to sip her Starbucks frappuccino when something made her choke on the piping hot beverage. She instantly grabbed the microphone for the speaker, and spoke clearly, "Patient in room 4203 is up. All doctors and nurses on the case report to room 4203 immediately. I repeat, patient in room 4203 is up. All doctors and nurses on the case report to room 4203 immediately." She ran away from the front desk, dismissing her four dollar drink without a second thought.
Not many interesting things happen in the stable urgent patients ward. The last crazy thing to happen was last week's case where a small child fell out of bed and broke her leg. Before that was when the kid in room 4203 was first admitted, not only following right after most patients left the hospital, having recovered from numerous different medical problems gone unattended or unable to be attended to due to the lack of doctors.
When the snap was reversed, floods of people rushed to the hospital, whether because they were told to come back once the snap was reversed (people tried to stay optimistic here at New York City Urgent Care Hospital) or were just brought back and was hurt from something that may have gone wrong when the snap happened.
Not many people stop to think about the people who aren't coming back. They don't think about the people who weren't dusted, but died in plane crashes when the pilots were, or died in trains because no one was there to maintain the subways.
So when this kid was brought in followed by the Avengers, everyone was kind of shoken. Not only at the kid's severe burns and medical problems, but because the Avengers were there and not in their luxurious tower.
Mary found out why the teenager didn't just stay in the much more qualified Avengers health wards, when the teen's parents (?) were arguing. She heard the mom (or maybe other distant relative?) yelling at the dad (once again, the two had been in there long before Mary's shift began and long after it ended) about how Peter, I'm assuming the teenager, should be in a hospital because she didn't want the guy to pay for the expenses.
At this point Mary was in front of the door. Even if Peter just rolled over and accidentally pushed the button, this would be extremely important since that meant the kid was conscious enough to roll over. She slid into the room, to find him sitting there.
She was taken back at his eyes.
Mary had seen the photos of him on the bedside table whenever she went in to do vital checks. She noted his hazel eyes and how they shone in the first one. You didn't need to be attracted to this kid to see that his eyes were gorgeous.
But now, one was ten shades lighter. The right one seemed to be a pastel brown, with most of the iris being light brown. She noted the way he favored his left arm over his right, wich made sense considering the huge burns on his right one.
"Hey kid."

It was exactly 1 ½ months later when Peter rolled into school. His wheelchair was beat up and had stickers on it, and an IV bag filled with an unidentifiable liquid hung above him, but other than that (and his eye), the kid was back to normal.
People Peter didn't even know were welcoming him back and saying how happy they were to see he was alive and well. All he did was smile and nod, not sure how to react.
None of them knew what happened. But they would.
The reason Peter and his family (bigger than ever) decided to tell everyone about what happened to him wasn't because Peter thought it would be good to tell everyone. It wasn't because he wanted no more secrets, or because the cover story was stupid. It was because he wanted to make himself into a meme.
Correction: a huge meme.
So that is why a random school announcement was called a few weeks later, after everyone had gotten used to having a crippled Peter around. It was in the school theater, but since that wasn't built to hold the entire school, the school's news program also filmed it. No one wanted to be outside during the middle of winter, not even Captain America.
The assembly started with the school's principal asking for respect, and that was met by silence. Some chuckles were heard as friends whispered jokes to their friends about the reason of the meeting, but that was the only noise.
Then Peter rolled onto stage. He wore a dark blue t-shirt with words beneath saying, "I always hated running." in comic sans. He parked himself behind the microphone, and struggled to his feet. His legs shook as he stood, and May was about to rush on to help him when he shot her a glare, sending her back to the side wings. After pulling the microphone out of the stand, he began to speak.
"You all probably know who I am at this point. I am the cripple, the kid in the wheelchair, the lucky one, the unlucky one. My name, is Peter Parker, and four years ago, my uncle died. Three years ago, I went on a lovely field trip with my best friend in the entire world, Ned Leeds.
"I am associated with him."
Some people looked his choice of words funny, but wouldn't be amazed at them until later.
"Before we start, I would like to say something." He took a deep breath, leaned on the microphone stand for a bit, and ended up taking some oxygen from his tank that was stored beneath his wheelchair before continuing.
"I am Spiderman.
"Some of you won't believe it. Some of you will think this is a joke. Others may believe me, but no matter what you believe, it is essential that you know that.
"We all good? Good.
"So I started shooting webs, saved all of your butt's on numerous occasions, and even went to outer space, something I never expected to do, nor wanted to do. I even died, like so many of you and your close family.
"But then something crazy happened.
"I was brought back to life! Haza hurray everything is good again!
"Except no.
"Ya see, while y'all were rejoicing with your family, I was fighting with every superhero. And when I mean every superhero, I mean. Every. Super. Hero."
Peter then whispered, "That includes you too Peter, even if you think footloose is the best movie ever."
He coughed before continuing.
"I was chilling with the queens, and even met an actual queen, believe it or not. Then, something crazy happened.
"Mr. Rasain snatched all of the infinity stones, when Mr. Stark did the old switcheroo. He was about to snap all of the baddies out of existence, including his life, when I swung in.
"I was all like, 'Sup Mr. Stark. Imma not let you die and sacrifice myself instead.'
"Then, I looked Mr. Rasain straight in the face and threw a yellow Uno Reverse card at his ugly fave before snapping. I still have it," He added before pulling it out from his pocket. It was a ziploc bag, and he let his classmates look at it before returning it to his pocket.
"I am not dead because ya boi has spider healing, so I managed to survive it but barely. Then I was in a coma cause I need some beauty sleep and then I became woke.
"I made an official Spiderman Insta," He then whispered, "Go follow me @SpOoDeR.MeMeS," before returning to normal and finishing with, "and came back to school. Any questions?"
@CarlitaChavero Thanks for the idea! Sorry for the rushed ending I didn't have much time to finish but I hope this is what you had in mind (I missed half what you commented but I tried lol)
