after the events of the international bladers cup, shu decided to stay at bc sol for a little while until he decided what to do next. it was then that he found out valt and free had been dating, and to his surpise they started dating when he revealed himself as red eyes. shu felt heartbroken whenever he saw the two together, cuddling or goofing off. he put his jealousy and instead felt happy for them and knew he had his chance and blew it. valt was oblivious to this but free could sense him feel down at the sight of them. in the end, shu knew he couldn't handle his emotions and the strain on his heart, and so he left for new york after only one week at bc sol and without a word to anyone else. he thought this would make him feel better, but really it broke valt even more to lose shu a second time.
