Meetings

Shadow was running through the woods, it was storming, he was bleeding out from a large gash in his side, he ran smack into a trainer, startled, he jumped back and then prepared a Shadow Ball but passed out before he could use it. "Ah! Oh, it's just a pokemon, come on, let's get you healed," The trainer said, picking up the umbreon.

32 minutes later

Shadow slowly woke, rubbing his head. "Am I dead?" He asked himself. "You're awake, you're safe," the Trainer from earlier said, not understanding Shadow, "Night, Firestar, return, thank you for your diligence," A shiny eevee and a torracat turned to red matter and flowed into their respective luxury balls. Shadow attempted to stand, only for his legs to feel weak and fail, causing him to fall over. So I'm alive?! Thank Arceus! Shadow thought."whoa there, you may be awake, but you aren't allowed to go until you are completely fine. Also, I had to register you to a pokeball for the lady here to work on you, I'll release you as soon as you are fit, if that is what you want," The trainer said. What a nice human. Shadow thought and smiled then shook his head. "Okay, if you want to be part of the team, you are going to meet the others, but you won't have to yet, they are at the house," She said. Shadow nodded in understanding. "I may not be able to understand what you say, you guys sure get yall's points across," The trainer said, laughing a little. Shadow chuckled to himself and just laid his head on his paws, smiling, glad he met someone so nice, especially after what he just went through. "That's adorable," The trainer said, petting him. Shadow began to purr a little at being pet. The trainer smiled and continued to pet him, "I'm Alita, by the way." Shadow nodded in understanding and turned onto his back for his chest to be pet. Alita used both of her hands to scratch Shadow's chest, "what's your name anyway?" She asked, double tapping the top of a pokeball to pull up a naming screen on it. Shadow just formed a small Shadow Ball in response but not releasing it. "Shadow?" Alita asked him. Shadow nodded and wagged his tail and then pulled back the shadow ball, essentially making it disappear. Alita typed it out and taped the top of the ball again, setting it, then the name appeared on the top of it. "I have a feeling that you and Night will get along well," She said. Shadow tilted his head in curiosity, as if asking 'who?' "That eevee you saw earlier, I saw how he was looking at you, he has been wanting to be an umbreon for quite some time, and he has an affinity for dark type," Alita explained. Shadow was wondering when he could meet the others, so he pawed at one of the other pokeballs he knew belonged to another mon but was empty in order to ask this. "I had these pokeballs especially made, they send the recipient to the house instead of them being stuck in the pokeball, and felt that it was a Prison for them. But when you are better, you can go meet them," Alita said. Shadow nodded in understanding and looked at the wound on his side. "It may be stitched, but it still needs to heal," Alita said, "I... never mind that." Shadow lowered his head, feeling impatient as he laid his head back down and closed his eyes. "Sleep will help it," Alita said, stopping so that he could sleep. Shadow then went to sleep as suggested.

The next day

Shadow had woken with a yawn and stretched like a cat. He remembered yesterday and smiled to himself as he continued to lie down. "Okay, thank you, Nurse Judy," Alita said, then entered the room, "good news, she cleared you to go home!" Shadow jumped up, wagging his tail and smiled. Alita grabbed the pokeball with shadow's name on it and latched it into her belt, "do you want to be carried, or no?" Shadow nodded. Aleta went to pick him up, "let's go home." She left the center and walked along the beach, "beautiful, isn't it?" Shadow nodded in agreement. They reached a gate and Alita unlocked it with her foot, then entered the fenced area and went towards the house overlooking the sea. Looking at the fence, it wasn't high, more of a marker than a barrier. Pretty nice house, and nice coloration for a fence. Shadow thought, admiring the outside look. "Guys I'm back, sorry about that, meet Shadow," Alita said, setting shadow down. Two eevee, one shiny, waved at him, calling out "Hi shadow." There was a cat in the fire pit that waved once. Some purple blob was approaching Shadow, but stopped about two meters away and transformed into Shadow. "Ditto, just kidding, Name's John, nice to meet you, Shadow." the Shadow copy said, sticking a paw out for a shake. Shadow reached his own paw out and shook it. The copy returned into the purple blob form. There was an arbok waving with its tail, then a form appeared in front of him, a Haunter, who waved, " I would shake your paw, but I doubt you could grab a hold of me." it explained. "But that doesn't mean you can't grab a hold of me.'' Shadow said, holding out his own paw. "True, by the way, my name's Ethan." the haunter said, shaking Shadow's paw. "Nice to meet you all!" Shadow said with a smile, jumping out of Alita's arms, he went over to the two eevees, "So I take it you're the Night Alita mentioned." Shadow said to the shiny vee, "and who are you?" He asked the other eevee. "Terra, Nice to meet you, Shadow," She said. "Nice to meet you too." Shadow replied, "I can tell we're going to be great friends," Shadow said, looking at everyone in the room. "We will only if you allow it," the Arbok said. "Of course!" Shadow said, "So, what is there to do around here?" "We chill, but there is a lot to do," the cat in the fire said, "I'm sure Night and Terra are happy doing anything, those two are like siblings." "Firestar, you know that we are siblings, right?" Terra asked the cat. "Yeah, and?" Firestar asked. "Well there is a difference between being siblings and being like siblings." Shadow added. "They are like siblings because they are siblings," Firestar explained, not even lifting his head. "That is not how it works being like siblings is where you aren't related but are so close that you might as well be siblings, but being siblings is where you actually are siblings." Shadow told him. "Okay, so maybe we aren't actually siblings, but we consider each other as such," Night explained. Firestar looked at Shadow, smug. "Why're you looking at me like that?" Shadow asked. "Nevermind" Firestar said, closing his eyes again and falling asleep. "He sure seems to sleep a lot." Shadow said. "He likes that fire of his, it's special to him, but he won't explain why. I sometimes see him speaking like it can hear him," Night said, looking at Firestar curiously, then shook his head. "He might be going mad." Shadow suggested in a joking tone. Night and Terra laughed at that. "Yeah, maybe," Night said, calming down. "So mind showing me around the place?" Shadow asked. "Yeah, sure," Night said, getting off the couch, "where first?" "I don't know, you tell me." Shadow said. "The bedrooms are upstairs, there are a few rooms down here, which first?" Night asked "The bedrooms I suppose." Shadow said. "Come on then, Terra, tell me what happens when I get back." Night said, going to the hallway and opening the back door of it, revealing stairs. Shadow followed. "She was cute." Shadow said to Night with a small chuckle. "Not with me, please," Night said. "What do you mean 'not with me'?" Shadow asked. "I consider her a sister, I really don't want to hear about your love interests towards her," Night explained, heading up the stairs. "Oh no you have me all wrong, 1. because love at first sight is a myth, and 2. I have no attraction towards her." Shadow said in defense. "Then please don't say that, it's unsettling," Night said, heading down the hall to a blank door, then using a volley of pin missiles to engrave Shadow's Name on it, "this one will be yours, do with it what you want, but please keep it clean." "Okay" Shadow said. Night opened the door, revealing a room with a wardrobe, a desk and a bed, "do you want to explore or see the rest of the house?" "See the rest of the house." Shadow answered. "Alright, back downstairs, then," Night said, going to the stairs. Shadow followed him downstairs. "There is a small gym, the door with the square and half circle in it. Then there is one of my favorite rooms, augmented reality. It is the one with the goggles engraved on it, the other two I haven't seen, as they are kept locked, Alita doesn't explain why." Night said. "Is there a kitchen?" Shadow asked. "Yeah, it's over to the left of the front door, I like to watch Alita cook," Night said. "I have always been stuck with eating berries, well until-" Shadow cut himself off. "You won't have to unless you want to, they are refreshing, and the pokebeans are to die for," Night said. "What's a pokebean?" Shadow asked. "Hold on, let me go grab a couple," Night said, going to the kitchen. Shadow followed him, curious. Night opened one of the cupboards and grabbed two rainbow beans and tossed one to Shadow, "here," Night said. Shadow sniffed it then took a small bite of it, his eyes widened and he put the whole thing in his mouth and ate it. "Good, ain't it?" Night asked, taking a bite of the bean he had. "Yeah. Haven't tasted much of nothin' ever since I was kidnapped." Shadow said not realizing that he just revealed a little bit there, till after he said it. "I don't care about your past, only what you do from here on, get the others to like you and we will be fine, brother," Night said, whispering the last word. "What was that last word?" Shadow asked. "Nothing," Night said, "you just reminded me of someone." "Oh, so what was that last word you used though?" Shadow repeated. "Don't worry about it," Night said, "please just drop it." "Okay?" Shadow said in a confused tone. "everything alright?" He asked. "Yeah, memories are nice, but some are painful," Night said, going back to the living room. Shadow did the same, not having anything better to do. He hopped up on the couch and curled up there. Terra, trying to be discreet about it, scooted closer to Shadow. "Hello there." Shadow said, noticing movement beside him. Terra blushed, "H-hi." "How are you?" Shadow asked, shifting so he'd be looking at her but through one eye. "You okay? You're looking a little red there." Shadow said. "Yeah, i'm f-fine, is it warm in here or is it just me?" Terra asked. "Probably warm in here, this is alola after all." Shadow answered. "True," Terra said. Night got up and left for the augmented room. Shadow returned to his previous position. Terra checked her level and saw that she was about to level. Making sure she had her stone, she went out to train a bit more. Shadow went with, "Need help?" Shadow asked. "If you're fine with it, I would like to train with someone," Terra said, blushing again. "Sure, also you're red again, are you sure you're feeling alright?" Shadow asked. "I'm fine," She responded, then she used Hidden Power, sending a shockwave out. "I assume that means we've started." Shadow said, preparing a Shadow Ball. "Yeah, I usually train on the dummies, but it's a bit one sided," she explained, preparing for the attack. Shadow launched it towards her. Terra dodges the attack, but just barely. Then charged a Shadow ball of her own. Shadow had a Dark Pulse prepared and secretly had Dragon Tail active. Terra split the Shadow ball in two and launched them one after the other, then jumped. Shadow countered the one with Dark Pulse, or rather, destroyed it and then countered the other with Dragon Tail, launching it right back at her. "RETURN TO SENDER!" Shadow taunted. It went by under Terra, then she used Substitute. "Well using decoys now?" Shadow asked, still keeping his guard up, now on defense, prepared to block or counter. Terra hid in the shadows, watching what he would do with a competent decoy. The decoy used last resort. Shadow used Dragon's Rage against the decoy. Terra's eyes widened, and she smiled, using 10,000,000 volt thunderbolt. "THE HELL?!" Shadow yelled surprised, "dammit, can't dodge this one!" He said to himself, as he let himself get hit, when it was done he was weak, just about to faint. "Okay, I quit the match, I am clearly no match for you, one more hit and I'm down." Shadow said. Terra started glowing, she pulled out the stone she had and held it as she evolved. Shadow watched in awe. "Amazing!" He accidentally said out loud. Terra's glowing form was laid down and she stopped glowing, Terra evolved into a Jolteon. She got up and looked at herself, "FINALLY!" she yelled, running around the clearing. "You look beautiful." Shadow said out loud by accident. Terra stopped so suddenly that it looked like she had been paralized, "you really think that?" She asked, blushing heavily. "Yeah." Shadow said. Terra went up to him and kissed him, "and you are handsome," she stated. Shadow blushed heavily. "Uhh- I- er uh- ahm..." he stuttered, at a loss for words. Since he didn't know what to say, he followed his heart and kissed back. Terra returned the kiss. After a moment or two Shadow pulled away, "I love you." He said. "I love you too," Terra responded, nuzzling him. "C'mon let's head inside, to the living room, or maybe my room since I feel like I'm about to faint." Shadow said. "Yeah, come on," Terra said, heading back to the house, jumping the fence. Shadow followed close behind. They went up to his room, on his desk was a new addition, a black obsidian sphere on a stand. He lied on the bed, or rather jumped onto it. "May I?" Terra asked. "Of course! Why not?" Shadow said. "I don't know, maybe because you just met me?" Terra said, getting on the bed next to him. "We're together though aren't we? As long as we don't end up taking things too far so quickly, it's fine." Shadow said. "Night won't let that happen, he is protective, it is fatal, not really, but you get the point," Terra said. "He'll have to end up learning to be okay with it happening because it'll most likely happen sometime in the future." Shadow said, wrapping his legs around her, holding her close. Terra hugged him as well, "he knows, I hope," she said. "Same." Shadow sighed, staring into her glistening, purple eyes. "...know, hail, things are crazy en..." Night was cut off as he entered his room. "Huh, what was he going on about?" Shadow asked. "I don't know, but more importantly, who is this 'Hail' 'mon?" Terra asked. "I don't know. By the way, I've been wanting to ask, have you also escaped from some sort of lab at some point?" Shadow asked. "Yeah, but i don't want to speak of it," Terra said, voice filled with hate. Shadow just hugged her, "I've gone through the same damn thing, I just hope I managed to destroy the tracker chip they implanted in me." Shadow said. "You must have been important for them to want to track you," Terra said. "No when I escaped they mentioned something about me being like the fifth escapee or something like thag, I guess they were afraid of more escaping after like the third mon." Shadow said, "from what I heard they had recaptured the fourth one sometime before I escaped." "huh, the more you know,, there was little chance of the ones at the place I was at escaping, but a melt down opened all the cages, allowing for us to escape, I don't know if any of the millions escaped, other than one that was permanently changed by the radiation, my actual brother..." Terra said, starting to cry. Shadow just hugged her tighter. "You're not the only one who lost someone." Shadow said reassuringly. "I only see him once a year, we spend the day together... hold on, i need to check something," Terra said, getting up and going to her room. Shadow lied there, recalling the screams of pain and terror he heard from the lab as he escaped, he recalled what the scientists did to his father. He recalled every horrible thing from that awful place, it got to a point where it almost seemed like he was in a trance as he did so. "Okay," Terra said, entering the room again, "so he's coming tomorrow, would you like to meet him?" Shadow didn't move or even flinch, his breathing was going between steady and unsteady as he relived the nightmare, he made no signs that he even heard her. "Shadow, hon?" Terra called, tapping his shoulder. He jumped as he was snapped out of it, panting. "Oh h-hi." He stuttered a little. "My brother is coming tomorrow, would you like to meet him?" Terra repeated. "Oh, sure." Shadow said. "But please don't scream when you see him, last time he was startled, well, let's just say it wasn't pretty," Terra said. "Okay." Shadow said, "So uh, what time does Alita usually start cooking?" Shadow asked, feeling quite famished. Terra looked at her watch, she started ten minutes ago, she starts at seven p.m. sharp. She has it done by eight, otherwise, she would have told us," she said. "Well then, imma wait the remaining 50 minuted in the kitchen then." Shadow said as he went to the kitchen to, as Night says he usually does, watch Alita cook. "Oh, um, she doesn't like us in there when she's cooking, the only exception is Night, it's because he helps," Terra said before he left. Shadow just ignored that. Not like we can't help, and besides you can't be in the way if you're just watching. Plus psychic can be a very useful tool, wether it be to create illusions or move things around you. He thought as he did what he wanted anyways. The second he entered the kitchen, Alita clicked the button on his pokeball and he was moved back to the living room. Shadow simply decided to use psychic to give off the illusion he wasn't there and then entered while ensuring it didn't seem like he was there. Alita sighed and clicked it again, resetting him back to the living room. What if I just sit in the doorway, then I'm technically not in the kitchen. He thought as he did so. When he looked, the door to the kitchen was closed. "Fine be unfair to the other mon, looks like this trainer isn't as nice as I thought." Shadow said to himself then left the house and went into the woods and climbed a tree then lied down in said tree. "looks like me and Night wouldn't get along as well as she'd have thought to begin with." he sighed to himself. "I told you so," Terra said. "Yes but so what if we watch, it's still unfair to us as her other mon, it's almost as if she's picking favorites between us, with Night being her favorite, which is completely wrong. I guess she's not as kind as I thought." Shadow said. "Each of us do something with her that the others don't, Night's thing is cooking, all we have to do is ask her and she will go, after getting supplies, if needed." Terra said. "What's so wrong with us just watching, it's not like we're getting in the way of her cooking, all an eevee can really do that could possibly help with 'cooking' is carry stuff by the maw, UMBREON CAN LEARN PSYCHIC by TM of course, but still, I know psychic I EVEN CREATED AN ILLUSION THAT I WASN'T THERE mon that know the move psychic can literally move stuff with their mind, that'd definitely be more of a help than only being able to move one thing at a time." Shadow explained. "I don't know, but it is there and if you are wondering how she could tell even when you used a move to make it like you aren't there, I don't know how she does it, but she can tell when one is watching, she doesn't like it." Terra explained. "I guess I got a little envious and selfish there, but still, it didn't really make sense." Shadow said, jumping down from the tree. "It's their thing, i go hiking with her sometimes, you are going to have to ask the others what they do if you want to know, but she will find something to do with you eventually, it took a month for me, but the others had an easier time with it, or so they said." Terra went on. "All I'd be good for is battling but that's not a thing I want to do, at all, so I doubt there'll be anything for me, other than just sit there and do practically nothing." Shadow said. "It isn't what you are good at that she looks for, it is what you like to do that she looks for," Terra explained. "In that case that's never gonna happen, because I don't know anything that I like to do, other than lie there and relax, there is literally nothing else." Shadow laughed. "Then that may be what she tries first. Again, every 'mon is different." Terra explained. "Yeah I highly doubt that a couch or the house floor would be very comfortable for a human." "You would be surprised, I often find her on the grass, asleep." Terra said. "A. The floor in the house isn't grass, and B. I also don't even want to think how awkward it'd be for a human if they and a 'mon to share the same bed for even one night, the mon may find it comfortable but human would probably find it very awkward.'' Shadow said. "A. i don't know about you, but i can't sleep on grass, i prefer sunbathing on a rock, and B. she tried it once with me, she didn't have a problem with it, and honestly, neither did I, but it wasn't the right thing, y'know?" Terra asked. "Yeah, also I never said grass I said the house floor." Shadow said. "Floor isn't as bad as the grass, but it is still terrible" Terra said. "Anyways, it's just about eight, let's head back." Shadow said. Terra looked at her watch and saw that he was right, "okay, let's go then." She said, heading back.

A.N.   So, a few things, me and shadow decided to do this after Shadow's trip to alola region in the upcoming  part (12) we agreed that since he has the darkness ahead, i would get the alt for it, so don't yell at me for it, there are {unfortunately} going to be lemons, knowing us, but i will put a warning before the chapter if, sorry, when it comes around.
