I woke up to screaming. It was pitch black outside. Jumping out of bed, I ran down the stairs to see what the commotion was. I got into the living room just in time to see a pair of feet slip around the door on the other side of the room. Running to the door, I noticed the screaming had stopped.

Two pairs of feet were now being dragged out of the front door. I ran outside to see my mothers and my brothers motionless bodies being dragged off into the woods. I could smell that they were alive, but just barely.

They were being dragged by a trio of wolves, one pitch black, one tan, like leather, and one chocolate brown. I tried to call out to my mom and brother, but the black wolf turned and gave me a blood curdling snarl. A snarl that would end up in your nightmares, with its lips drawn back and its yellowed teeth dripping with spit, a low rumble emiting from its throat.

Suddenly, my thoughts change course. "Dad!" I exclaim realizing that he could be injured.

Rushing back into the house and up the stairs to my mom's and dad's room, I ran in to see my dad sitting on his bed. His head was hanging down and his whole body was shaking.

My first thought was "At least he's OK."

Then I realized that he was crying. My dad was crying.

"Dad?" I asked with my voice quivering, sitting down next to him.

He looked up at me, his eyes all puffy and red, his cheeks wet with tears, and sighed.

Seeing him so vulnerable was hard.

"Your mom is gone. She got dragged off. I saw." He muttered.

"I know. What are we gonna do?"

"I don't know."

There was a quick pause as I took a deep breath, ready to tell him.

"Dad, this might not be the best time, but... Well... I kinda sorta found my mate." I rushed in one big breath.

My dad gasped loudly and stared at me. "Who is it?"

"Christopher Moon," I responded weakly.

"The Alpha?!" He said in bewilderment.

"Yes, the Alpha."

Hey my Oreos. Long time no see, hey? Hehe.

I'm so so so sorry that I haven't updated in forever but I've been really busy. I tried to finish this chapter over spring break but I didn't get the chance. I'm sorry its so short, it just felt like the right place to end this chapter.
