Geraldine's husband POV

Geraldine is pregnant? How is that possible? We've hardly been home lately."

"We know that Our mate has mated with another male. I wouldn't put it past her to have gotten pregnant by whom ever she's been fooling around with."  My wolf replied in disgust.

"That's not possible. It's common knowledge that a female can't get pregnant with anyone besides her mate's child."

Yes, but you forget, we are not Geraldine's original mate. We married her and she bares our mark but she isn't our true mate. So it's possible that she could still get pregnant with her original mate's child."

"No it's not. She can't get pregnant by whoever her original mate was, because they never marked each other let alone finished the mating process."

"If you say so." My wolf replies sarcastically. "Either way I want that wh*re out of my house." 

"Agreed. Pack your things Geraldine. I want you out of my house by nightfall."

"Have I done something to anger you my love?"

"Don't play innocent with me woman! You've been fooling around with some other male. Don't even try denying it! I could feel your betrayal through the mate bond. I doubt that child your carrying is even mine."

"Tell me Geraldine, who has been sharing your bed while I've been away on duty? Who was it? You know what, it's better that I don't know. I'd only wind up wanting to kill him. Pack your bags and get out. I can't stand to look at your face."

"Please my love, please don't do this. Where am I to go?"

"Go crawling to your lover. Beg him to take you in. I'm done with you."  My wolf replied starting to close the door.

"Wait. It's not what you think. I swear I didn't want to have that kind of relationship with him, but I didn't have a choice." Geraldine replies.

"Don't lie to me Geraldine. Don't you dare try and claim that you were forced to participate against your will. I felt your betrayal not once but on multiple occasions... So don't you dare try and tell me that it wasn't consensual."

"Please.... You know no one can deny an Alpha's command." Geraldine replied.

"Woah, woah, back it up. Are you saying that Alpha Gustavo forced you to mate with him?"

"Yes." Geraldine replied her eyes filling with tears.

"That's a serious charge. One that if proven true, would cost him the title of Alpha."

"I swear it's true. He used his Alpha command to force me to agree to sleep with him and give him an heir. He said that he knew that he could get me pregnant because I belong to Him."

"What do you mean you belong to him?"

"He is my mate. Well, he was until the moon goddess offered him a chance to take Autumn as his mate. He accepted the offer because he wanted to be this pack's Alpha."

"He knows that in order to maintain his claim on the title of Alpha he needs an heir. Believe me, I tried to refuse him, but he said that I belonged to him. That I always have and I always will despite the fact that I married you and took your mark."

"He said that He can take whatever he wants, whenever he wants because he is the Alpha. He threatened to deem you a rouge and have you killed before the entire pack, if I even thought of refusing him. I couldn't let him do that to you."

"So I did as he desired. He told me he'd keep visiting me until I became pregnant. And that if I said anything, he'd kill you. For some reason he stopped visiting me a few months ago, even before I told him I was pregnant."

"There's still a chance that the child could be mine in which case he has no claim on him or her."

"Oh?"

"Remember that night a few months ago? When I came home early from my duty? If I recall correctly, We spent the entire weekend in the bedroom."

"Even if the child is yours, he's going to take them away from us. I'm scared. I don't want to loose my baby." Geraldine whimpered.

"Shhh. Don't cry my love." I growl and I pull her into an embrace. "I promise you the Alpha will not take our child from us."

"What if the child isn't yours?"

"I will raise this child as mine regardless of the circumstances. I will make him pay for this!"

"Don't. Please, he'll kill you." Geraldine pleases but my mind was made up. I was going to bring this matter before the council. The Alpha would be held accountable for his actions.

Gustavo POV

"Alpha, Luna, I hate to bother you but have you heard the gossip going on around the pack lands?"

"Why should We care about gossip? It's called gossip for a reason." I replied with a frown.

"Are you aware that your former girlfriend Geraldine is pregnant?"

"Of course. We are happy for her." I replied.

"So you haven't been informed of what's going on?"

"No why?"

"There has been accusations made stating that you forced Geraldine to conceive this child. That you used your Alpha command and that upon the child's birth, you intend on taking the child away from her and give him or her to the Luna to raise as your heir. That you did this with the Luna's full knowledge and approval."

"Excuse me? That is most absurd thing I've ever heard! I want nothing to do with that woman, why would I want to steal her child?" Autumn replied the irritation clearly evident in her voice.

"Because you can't have children of your own." The messenger replied and instantly Autumn's eyes filled with tears.

"That's not true...." Autumn replied chocking back a sob. I let out a deep growl my eyes flashing in anger as I tried to contain my wolf. He was furious and was fighting to gain control.

"Sir, if you do not contest these rumors, the pack will demand that both of you be stripped of your titles and banished from the pack."

"On who's authority?" I replied with a scoff.

"The moon goddess well, hers and our previous Alpha and Luna. If they refuse to deal with the issue, then the pack would have no choice but to bring this issue before the Werewolf King and Queen."

"They wouldn't dare! Why would anyone from the pack believe these foolish rumors in the first place?"

"It is common knowledge that the Luna is considered barren and unable to bear you an heir. It is also common knowledge that Geraldine use to be your destined mate." At this, Autumn let out a low growl I could tell that her wolf was beginning to become angry as was mine with every passing moment.

"Since Geraldine was your original mate many pack members believe that you can still have a child with her. Everyone knows that when you want something, you take it. You always have. So the idea that once the child is born you will use your authority to force Geraldine to give up her child is quite believable."

"First of all, let me make something perfectly clear, Geraldine and I were never mates. If she is continuing to say otherwise then she's only fooling herself. These charges of ra*e are entirely false. I have never forced Geraldine to do anything. I certainly never intended to breed with her. Put a stop to these rumors and report back to me when you discover who started them. They will pay dearly for their disrespect."

After the messenger left, I could see the tears that were threatening to fall from her beautiful eyes. Frowning Autumn stormed off towards our bedroom. I followed behind her only to have the door slammed in my face.

"Autumn my love, you have to believe me, I swear these accusations are false. I haven't been with Geraldine like that for a long time. Autumn please talk to me."

Autumn POV

Upon hearing the new rumors spreading around the pack I couldn't help but feel depressed. I already knew about the rumors that had been spreading about my being barren but it still hurt to hear the messenger talk about them.

Then to hear this new rumor that Geraldine is pregnant with Gustavo's child my heart broke. For all I know it could be true. I knew that he had been to her house on multiple occasions recently.

What if the child is Gustavo's? Where does that put me? Will he name Geraldine his new Luna and banish me making me a rouge? Maybe it would be better if I had lost the challenge that night. At least then I'd have never felt this horrible pain.

"I won't let Gustavo banish us. If I have too I will challenge his right to rule."

You can't rule this pack alone."

"Yes I can. It's called an Alpha Luna.

"But Another challenge? Is that really the solution? And if we win what then? We kill him? No. I may hate what Gustavo has done, but I won't kill him."

"Autumn let me in. Please let me explain."

"There's nothing to discuss. Just leave me alone Gustavo."

"You can't possible believe that I forced Geraldine to sleep with me."

"Of course not. That sl*t would gladly open her legs for you if she thought that in doing so you'd elevate her to the title of Luna. Tell me Gustavo, if the baby is proven to be yours, what exactly are your plans?"

"The baby is not mine. Even if the baby is mine, do you really think that after everything we've been through I'd give your title to Geraldine? How many times must I tell you, that I never wanted her for my mate or for my Luna. Hell, I never even want her for a girlfriend."

"Then why agree to date her in the first place? Why get engaged to her?"

"I didn't. Geraldine and her friends started spreading the rumor that we were together. At the time my popularly was in the balance. So I gave into peer pressure and agreed to go steady with her."

"Ok that I can believe. But why her?"

"I am not sure that I follow."

"Of all females in the pack why did go to her house? Who's to say that your not Geraldine's child's father? After all, You spent enough time in her bed." I replied bitterly.

"That's not fair Autumn. I gave you my word that I'd never be unfaithful again after that night and I haven't been. I only wanted you to think that I was being unfaithful to you in order to make your wolf jealous."

"I know how much your wolf hates Geraldine. You have to admit, the idea that I somehow managed to Geraldine pregnant infuriated your wolf didn't it?"

At this, Autumn laughed. "She refuses to admit it but the truth is yes, the idea that you slept with and impregnated our longtime nemesis did agitate her."

"So you believe me?"

"I don't know what to think anymore. I want to believe you, I really do, but your track record speaks for itself." Autumn replied sadly.

"There hast to be a way to prove to not only you, but to everyone else that I'm not lying. That these accusations are false."

"Ahh Alpha, Luna I have been expecting you. You are here to determine if the child Geraldine is carrying is indeed your heir. Luna Autumn you have also come so that we may determine if the charges brought against Alpha Gustavo are valid, which would warrant his immediate removal from the positions of Alpha."

"I did not do as these rumors say. I did not order Geraldine to sleep with me and bear me a child. Nor did I threaten to remove the child from her custody upon their birth."

"We shall soon see. The moon goddess knows all and sees all. Moon Goddess your children seek your wisdom to an answer we can not currently provide. Yes, I see. It seems that the Luna must also participate. For charges have been brought against her as well."

"What charges?" My wolf snarled.

"That she knew and approved of your plan to impregnate Geraldine. That she encouraged you to use your Alpha ability to force Geraldine to not only allow herself to be impregnated but force her to give up custody of the child too you to raise as your own upon their delivery."

"Those are false accusations! Who dares to accuse Autumn of this?" My wolf snarled.

"I can not reveal who brought these charges to my attention. I am only to inform you that you will be judged for them. Alpha to discover the answer you seek you must be willing to spill some blood." At this, Gustavo pails but nods his head holding out his hand for the priest to cut.

"If the water turns red upon contact with your blood then the child Geraldine is carrying is yours. If the water remains clear then you are not this child's father."

"Also if the water turns black directly after turning red then you will be guilty of the charge of abuse of your Alpha command and well, in essence the charge of r*p*."

"If the water is both red, then black then purple it means that you intended to force Geraldine to give up her custody of the child to the two of you after it's birth to raise as your own. If the water remains pure you will be innocent if all charges."

"Luna you also must take this test. If the water turns red then you will be found guilt of the charge that you knew of Gustavo's plan to r*p* and impregnate Geraldine. If it turns purple it means that you knew and approved of his plans to take the child to raise as your own."

Author's note

So Geraldine is pregnant. Who should the father be? Gustavo or her actual mate?

So far the first survey is a tie. One vote for the Father to be Gustavo and one vote for the father to be Geraldine's mate.

I now have another survey that needs answering. How should Gustavo be found concerning the charges that have been brought against him? Guilty or innocent? How should Autumn be found?

This wasn't the direction this story was supposed to go in but it seems the characters have a mind of their own. I go to write one thing and I end up writting something entirely different.

Gustavo: Excuse me but I resent this survey. I'm innocent of these charges. I'd never abuse my authority/ position as Alpha to force someone to do something they don't want to do. Why you might ask? Because being Alpha was a gift from her."

"I'd never want to do anything to cause her to be disappointed in me. I beg you readers and Author let the child be Geraldine's husbands. Let us be proven innocent of the charges against us. I do not ask this for myself, but rather for Autumn."

"She doesn't deserve to have her title stripped from her. She is innocent of these and all charges against her. I know I haven't always shown it, but I love Autumn with all my heart and I was a fool to spend time with Geraldine instead of with Autumn."
