Chapter 53

ALPHA MARCELLUS STORM

"Now that we've established that two of you are going to die, which two of you is it going to be?" Marcellus questioned in a loud, booming voice with his hands braced by his sides, glancing at the three rogues that were currently sat at his feet.

"You don't have to kill us." The female all but begged in a desperate voice, looking up at him with unshed tears in her eyes, her cheeks still glistening from the previous round. "We'll tell you all that you need, but just don't kill us. Please!"

"I'm sorry, lady but that's not an option right now. All of you have wasted enough of my time already; time which I currently do not have." He made a show of rolling his eyes in a mixture of annoyance and frustration before turning his gaze on the other two rogues; both males and just as useless and uncooperative as their female counterpart who was being particularly heavy on the crocodile tears.

After having it been revealed that the female – Shannon – was the mate of the quiet rogue – Liam – whom had kept his mouth shut the whole time while allowing the other rogue – Johnny – to take the brunt force of all of his torture, Marcellus felt like he was back at square one.

With absolutely no idea of where his mate was or what to do in order to find her, he was beyond frustrated and knew that it wouldn't be long before he finally lost all of his shit and killed all three of them. However, he couldn't afford for that to happen since as of right now, only one of them would be able to answer what they had done to his mate and where they had taken her.

"One of you can either tell me where Anastasia is right now, or I'm going to kill you all." The threat was loud and clear as it passed his lips.

"You can't kill us all." Despite his dislocated jaw and busted up face, Johnny snorted and chuckled darkly, barely able to lift himself up from the ground after the beating that he had taken.

As if ungrateful for the beating that he had taken for the both of them, Liam and Shannon sat pressed up against each other a few metres away from him, almost as if trying to disassociate themselves from him.

While Marcellus couldn't stand the wolf after all the back talk, he couldn't help but note that he had the strongest spirit of them all and while he had planned to crack him first as he had assumed Shannon to be Johnny's mate, he now knew the truth so it was time to change up his tactics.

It was clear to him now that Johnny was the most tight-lipped out of the three of them and he probably had the least chance of getting any useful information out of him. After Liam's outburst earlier when his mate had been threatened, Marcellus now knew just what buttons he needed to push to find out what he needed however, it was still a matter of time.

"I'll have you know that I can do whatever the fuck I want." He chuckled darkly before turning her head to glance at Dalton and the few warriors stood behind him.

"Dalton, if you would be so kind as to help me." His lips tipped up at the corners as he mind-linked his Beta what the next plan of motion would be.

Put Shannon in a different cell. We'll see how long it takes to get her mate singing when her life is in danger.

On it, Mars. Dalton chuckled back through the mind link, signalling for one of the warriors to join as they ventured further into the cell and peeled Shannon away from Liam, not the least bit bothered with being gentle despite the fact that she's female and warranted a bit more respect. However, it was their actions that defined a person and not their gender.

Despite her best attempts of keeping up the innocent act, Shannon was just as guilty as Liam and Johnny in all of this, as well as everyone else that was involved. She had put his mate in danger and that was something that Marcellus would never be able to forgive.

"What are you doing? Where are you taking her?" Liam asked in a desperate plea as he tried to hold onto his mate but with the way that he was being held back by two warriors while Dalton snatched Shannon and dragged her out of the cell while she kicked and cried, there was no point. "Where are you taking her? Where are you taking my mate?"

Marcellus merely growled in response, trying to avoid getting a headache after having to endure the screams and shouts of all these rogues for quite a while now.

What do you want us to do with her, Mars? Dalton asked through mind link despite the fact that they could have spoke aloud and still heard each other but this way,

It's up to you but just make sure she screams.

I can do that. Dalton laughed aloud, not the slightest bit concerned about the fact that he had just agreed to torture a female, simply because she was far from innocent and had played a part in kidnapping their Luna.

"Where did you take her? What are you going to do with her?" Liam begged in a desperate plea as the warriors finally let go of him before they scurried out of the cell and this time, Marcellus joined them.

Before either of the rogues try and make a run for it, Marcellus took a step back and allowed one of his warriors to close the silver cell, wearing a pair of protective gloves so as to not burn his skin.

Instead of answering him, Marcellus simply smirked and stared back at the two rogues – a one Johnny still writhing in pain on the ground despite trying to hide it, and a Liam whose eyes were wide with fear after just having watched his mate be dragged away from him.

Almost as if perfectly timed, a shrill, blood curdling scream sounded out filled the basement, very quickly followed by another one which sent shivers down his spine. However, not for one second did Marcellus feel any sense of remorse or sorrow for this pitiful female as she had played a role in the kidnapping and abduction of his mate. Not only that, but collectively, they had all withheld information and every second lost here, was a second more that his mate was in danger.

"Please, stop it!" Liam begged as he rushed over to the bars and clutched them tightly between his fingers, but swore loudly and pushed himself back as his skin burned. "Don't touch her! Don't fucking touch her!"

By this time, Shannon had stopped with the screams and instead, had resorted to continuously crying with occasional gasps.

"I said, don't fucking touch her!" Liam roared loudly as he half-shifted and took a run up at the cell but all the rogue managed was to burn his fur as his body was propelled back at the impact.

Shifting back to his wolf, he cried as his mate cried out for him, begging for him to save her before finally, he mustered up all the strength he had to crawl toward the bars except this time, he didn't reach out for them.

"Please just let go. I'll tell you everything but please let her go."

Marcellus pursed his lips with a deep scowl on his face as he glanced down at the rogue at his feet, only held back by the silver bars between them. Despite Liam stating that he would give up the location of his mate, he needed assurance that he was speaking nothing but the truth.

Just for good measure, he ordered Dalton to turn it up a notch, just to make sure that the rogue spoke nothing but the truth.

"Please! Please!" Liam begged as the tears continued to stream down his face. "I'll tell you everything that you need to know but please don't hurt her!"

"Tell me where my mate is."

Liam nodded his head frantically as he gave an address.

Marcellus frowned lightly as he turned his head to glance at his warriors, all of them mirroring the same unsure expression as him.

"And if I find out you're lying?" He asked as he turned his head back to face the still conscious rogue; Johnny now looking like he was slipping in and out of consciousness, too out of it to comprehend what was going on around him.

"I'm not. I promise!" Liam raised himself onto his knees and lifted his hands to beg the Alpha stood behind the bars unable to hear his mate scream out in pain any longer. "I promise I'm telling you the truth! Go to that address and you'll find an abandoned old building. That's where they're keeping her."

"I'm letting you live for now but if I find out that you were lying, I'm going to kill you all." Marcellus growled in warning, sending a sharp look to both of the rogues. "And the first one I'm going to start with is your mate."

After that promise, he was quick to shift into his mate and run out of the basement. As he reached the fields, he was thankful that Dalton had sorted out the rest of the warriors so they didn't have to waste any time in going to save his mate and Luna of the Lupum Griseo pack.

If something happens to our mate, I'm going to fucking destroy you! His wolf whispered to him in a quiet, menacing tone as they pushed back on their hind legs and began the mission to bring his mate back to safety.

Trust me when I say, I'm going to be the first one to do that if there's so much as a hair out of place. He couldn't help but whisper back to his wolf as he pushed himself to run faster, growling at the group of trackers that he bypassed and couldn't keep up with him.

You're such a fucking idiot!

You don't think I know that already? He struggled to get a hold of his overwhelming emotions as they raced through his entire body. You don't think I don't know that I've everything wrong by her and now, she's gone missing?

I don't care how much fucking grovelling you have to do but once all of this is over, you're going to get down on your knees and beg for her forgiveness, even if it takes forever.

Despite how much he tried to tell himself that he would be given the chance to do just that, he couldn't help but feel like shit.

The Moon Goddess had granted him a mate yet he had been so ungrateful and judgy that he had all but pushed her to the side and deemed her unworthy even though that was not his intention. However, that was what his actions looked like from the outside and now, he was paying the price.

Despite his wolf's many threats, Marcellus knew that if anything were to happen to Anastasia, his little spitfire, he would never be able to forgive himself.

She deserved so much better than the shitty mate that she had been destined with and the moment she was back in his arms, he had a lifetime of bullshit to make up for.

Thought of Anastasia kept him focused and motivated as he ran to where the rogues had stated his mate was being kept; in an abandoned house about three hours away from his pack.

Except, they were able to cut down the three-hour travel time to just over half, with everyone driven and determined to bring their Luna back to safety.

What the fuck? His wolf questioned aloud as they came to a stop after having finally reached their destination as instructed by a desperate Liam willing to do anything to save his mate. There's nothing here!

Marcellus couldn't help but growl lowly at the prospect that the rogues had played them and instead of giving them the location of where his mate had been kidnapped to, had sent them to the middle of nowhere.

When we get back there, I'm going to fucking rip him to shreds!

That's only if there's anything left of him after I get through with him!

Both Marcellus and his wolf growled loudly, uncaring of the fact that they were in the middle of nowhere and his voice was probably travelling all through the forest. All he cared about was finding his mate and getting her back to safety but after making it this far only to find out that they had been left on the wild goose chase, he was starting to lose hope.

Even though he tried to remain strong, he couldn't help but worry that after so much time had passed since she had initially gone missing, all of these terrible things could have happened to her already.

This is all your fault, you know?

I know it's my fucking fault! Marcellus growled loudly as he lifted his paw and slammed it down on the ground in pure rage, unable to bottle his emotions despite the fact that he couldn't be anything short of in control right now. I already know that without you reminding me all the time.

All of this could have been avoided if you told her we were mates from the very beginning! If you didn't lie to her, then none of this would have happened.

Instead of answering, Marcellus growled loudly and shook his head, unable to deal with his wolf right now despite him speaking nothing but the absolute truth.

Determined to find her at any cost, Marcellus broke away from his wolves as he ventured around the place, looking for the abandoned house that Liam had said would definitely be here.

Desperate to find her and bring her back to safety even though she deserved so much better than him, he kept pushing and pushing until finally, he reached the end of the forest.

Breaking away from the forest and stumbling outside it, Marcellus had to take a few steps back in order to be able to comprehend the grand sight in front of him. While he had found the house that Liam had referred to, he had also managed to find something so much more.

After demanding Dalton and his warriors join him, Marcellus gulped and tried to comprehend exactly what was in front of him.

A fucking plane.
