Chapter Eleven - Closing A Chapter Of My Life

Opening my eyes. Once again finding I am alone in an empty bed.

I can't help the happy smug grin on my face when memories of how good it felt to sleep snuggled up to my wolf-man emerge.

Then a little bit of panic sets in as I realize how much he means to me already. He's crept into my heart, walking away would most certainly hurt me and the realization of this frightens me.

Relief, floods me; when the sound of a running shower tickles my eardrums. He hasn't left yet, for once I've managed to catch Brodie before he leaves for the day.

Deciding to stay comfortable, and enjoy a Brodie fresh from the shower show. I prop myself up getting settled for the best view.

This bed is even bigger than the one in my room, It must be custom made.

The shower turns off and unashamed I wait patiently.

I'm not disappointed by the view when Brodie thankfully exists in nothing but a towel. He looks divine, I can't help but slide my gaze all over every exposed inch. I bite my bottom lip to stop myself licking them.

"Morning" he tilts his head clearly amused by my ogling. I don't care anymore. We have  crossed the do I find him attractive line, he knows I do.

"Morning;" I sound all breathy, entertaining him further. He gets a slight blush which I find adorable.

"Like what you see little mate?" His grin would compete with the Cheshire cats. I throw a pillow at him playfully. Shocked when it's fired straight back at my face with force! My head hits the headboard, not hard enough to cause pain, but the sound gives off the impression it should have.

I slowly pull the pillow off my face, flustered not expecting the brutal counter pillow attack. Mine was just a harmless playful throw and I sulk pulling my face into a pout.

I jump with surprise when moving the pillow away from my face reveals Mr sex on legs looming over me, concern etched into his facial features.

"You ok sorry, I was just playing but I let it go a little hard" he gives me a weak apologetic smile. So much for my exceptional self-defence skills, seems like a half-naked Brodie is all the elixir that's needed to render me utterly useless.

"I'm fine" again I sound like a breathy mess and I frown.

We are a hot mess Stella Amber giggles.

Brodies smug smile is back, he's loving the effect he has on me and I'm not really complaining just worried about how quickly I'm falling for my wolf-man.

The closer we get the harder it is for me to resist anything when It comes to him. I huff and try to rid myself of the lustful school girl I've become.

I roll away from him, propelling myself out of the bed. Brodie playfully lunges for me and I'm delighted when I'm too quick for the Alpha. Once again getting away.

Giggling I run out of the room so I can brush my morning breath away.

I spot Casey smiling at me as I duck out of Brodie's room and into mine triumphantly.

It's while ridding myself of any offending mouth odours that I'm reminded of what happens when I run away.

Somehow Brodie got in without me even so much as sensing a thing. Waiting until I was rinsing my mouth under the tap he pressed his erection into my ass.

I gasp and buck forward almost hitting my head in the tap. His smug chuckle sends pulses into all the right spots and my arousal flares causing him to growl lightly.

Taking a large fistful of my long hair he pulls me upright until my entire backside is plastered to him.

Now I'm stuck between the vanity and Brodie watching In the mirror. I can't help it, I'm so turned on.

Taking a large inhale I see his eyes go black.

"Don't run from me Stella" his tone sends shivers through my body. Pulling my head to one side I watch as he trails a slow path from my ear down my neck to a spot he's hovered over a few times.

Realization sinks in, that's where he will mark me. Opening his mouth he applies pressure with his human teeth to the spot.

Shock at the incredible pleasure, blasts my fear away. I arch, moaning involuntarily and the pulsing on every nerve ending.

Just as quick as he appeared he releases me and Is gone. I'm left panting over the sink dumb struck that felt so good and there was no pain.

I trace the faint red marks left from his teeth on my skin still feeling sensations roll through me.

"Bloody hell" I mumble, still reeling that I almost just orgasmed from Brodie play biting me.

You can say that again, we need to run away more Amber declares.

"We will be, remember, temporarily anyway" I whisper suddenly it's like a bucket of ice water has been poured over my libedo.

Oh yea, Derek, Amber grumbles unhappily.

"If we get caught, it might be worth it." I try to lighten the mood.

Hmm, somehow I don't think it will be the same. She's right, I don't think our punishment will be a sensual one if we get caught. My stomach turns at the idea of upsetting Brodie.

"Well, we won't get caught then" oI reply confident In our ability to get out and back unnoticed.

---------------------------------------- ********** -------------------------------------------------

I'm dressed entirely In black. Black boots, pants, a long-sleeved top and even my underwear is black. I've pulled my dark hair up into a high ponytail and looking myself over in the mirror I'm reminded of Lara croft. Except I won't be raiding any tombs tonight. Unfortunately, I'm just going to be seeing my ex-husband.

We're really doing this, Amber is still not happy with this plan.

"Oh come on he's not even here?" I argue for the fifth time with her tonight. Brodie's been called away to a meeting with his father, Josh, and other necessary packhouse members to discuss the upcoming Alpha meeting being hosted here in three weeks. As I'm not Luna yet, I don't have to attend.

Brodie said the meeting would not end till late. Josh said Cleardale was an hour and a half north of Kaitai. In wolf form, I should be able to make that In half the time easily. I'll have enough time to sort out Derek and get back, without my absence being noticed.

Let's just get this over with Finally Ambers on board. She's excited about the run I can tell. Pulling a rain jacket around me and slinging the empty bag over my shoulders. I head out onto the balcony of the suite.

Shimming my way down the drain pipe. I make it to the ground in quiet, efficiently executed motions, even I am impressed. Having awoken my wolf sure has its perks.

We are awesome! Amber agrees, happy now that we are out of the suit and moving towards the forest. Once in the tree's I make my way stealthily up the steep bank, careful not to leave a trail or be noticed by any patrolling wolves. During the family dinner, I learned that the pack only patrols at night and has three patrol lines. The first is scouted every 20 minutes, the second every 40 minutes and the third every hour.

Naturally the further out the larger the area is to scout. I make it past the main patrol line undetected as planned. Moving to a safe distance within, I strip off my clothes and throw them into the empty bag.

"Ok, your turn," I say challengingly to Amber. My bones crack, separate and reform. Picking up my bag of belongings in my now very large jaw, we bolt.

Moving through the trees with lightning precision and as much stealth as possible. Sensing the next patrol line I shift back covering my scent once again as I did in the past by dressing quickly and tightening the rain jacket around me.

This time I have to hide as a patrol runs past scanning for dangerous rogues. Staying concealed my adrenaline surges with the excitement of my so far successful plan.

Stepping foot in my old garden at 8:15 pm calls for a fist pump moment.

"Yes!!" I hiss loving the buzz of escaping unnoticed by any of the patrols.

Amber is anxious, I'm getting used to deciphering her emotions from my own now.

Let's get rid of Derek, so we can go home! She whines.

"Ok sounds good" I dress quickly and make my way to the house. I'm happy to find Derek has not arrived yet. Opening my front door, I find a wave of sadness wash over me.

I used to love this place and felt like I enjoyed my life here, but now it's only filled with memories of what once was and can never be again.

I haven't really even missed what once was my whole world.

A familiar pang of rejection, hurt and betrayal replaces the elation I had felt earlier. I'd forgotten how unhappy I was here before I found myself in Kaitai. I gather a few of my personal belongings that I've been missing.

8:40 pm and the familiar sound of my ex-husband's movements reaches me upstairs.

"I'm up here" I call out just like I always used to and again I swallow the hurt down trying to stay focused.

"Hey Stell" Derek walks back into what was once our sensual sanctuary.

"Did you get what you need?" I ask trying to stay on point and neutral. I don't want an argument with him like the last time he left.

"Yeh, just some work stuff I left downstairs, already loaded it into the car. That should be it" he just stands there awkwardly swinging his arms and looking around the place finally landing his gaze on me.

Oh dear, I hadn't anticipated him being sentimental about this. Bring back the smug arrogant arsehole that left me for his pregnant love affair.

"Yep, this Is it Derek" I put as much finality into that sentence as possible.

"I do love you Stell, I just love her too and now my child" I hold up my hand to stop him.

"Please stop! I don't need another explanation Derek. I also don't need your pity it just makes me angry" I take a calming breathe.

He takes a step forward towards me with a pained expression. I stand tall.

"I just need this to be over now ok" I sound just as done as I feel. He looks at the ground rubbing his forehead.

"There's no way you can make this any better or easier. You betrayed me, us, all our promises" my voice wavers a little and I'm surprised by the hurt. I don't want Derek anymore but the betrayal still stings.

Dereks head snaps up as the first tear flows down my cheek.

He hugs me pulling me into his chest like he always used to.

"I'm so sorry Stell" He squeezes me like that will help ease his guilt.

This time I let him hold me again noticing It doesn't feel the same though, I don't feel safe or loved just cold and uncomfortable.

I push him away gently trying to avoid what happened last time.

"I wish you and Sandy all the best Derek, now leave" I nod towards the door of the bedroom. I can't bring myself to say I have forgiven him because I haven't yet.

Derek walks out and not too long after I follow. I lock the place up tightly checking every door and window. Switching the water off and making a note to cancel the power.

I have finally realised I won't be coming back to live in this house. It can never be what it once was and the longer I'm away from Kaitai and Brodie the more miserable I'm feeling.

No matter what happens I need a change from my old life and a new one has been handed to me on a silver platter.

I'm staying in Kaitai with Brodie.
Making the decision brings a smile to my face and a warmth spreads through my chest replacing the cold sorrow that had creeped back in.

I walk away from my old life and every step brings me more relief.

Stripping and shifting amongst the trees I look back at the place I used to call home one last time before hitting full speed away from it, and who I once was.

I'm back In Kaitai territory by 10pm. I didn't stop to shift between patrol lines. It doesn't matter if they pick up on my scent, I'll be home before they find me.

Back into my spy suit, I re-do my hair before walking the short distance to the packhouse. Halfway up the drainpipe, I hear a commotion going on in the suit and my stomach plummets.

"Where the fuck could she be, why would she leave me" I hear Brodie yell at someone.

My heart aches at Brodies worried and hurt words and guilt consumes me. I should have talked to him about this.

I scale the pipe like lightning and launch myself onto the balcony ready to face the music and end his concern.

"I didn't leave you" I announce and three heads turn my way....

Obviously, I don't own these photos just using them to give you an idea of what Stella's character looks like to me.  This is actually Marie Avgeropoulos playing Octavia in the Netflix series the 100.
