War is never something that is easy to deal with and unfortunately it runs along with all the creatures we overlook. The battle for land and glory, the power that they can gain, and fear that they can spread. Nothing is more dangerous than declaring war against a king, these natural-born leaders that other creatures consider powerful enough to stand their ground.

The ranking of different species was later discovered after many wars, the government along with the Book Keepers kept track of all these ranks. Kings are ranked by the power and family they took under their wing. There are four major Kings, mostly named after the region they overlook.

North, East, South, and West...

I looked at Zoro; he sighed and started telling me that they had all disappeared after rumors that the Alpha of the pack was actually alive. "They told me that the Hunters are using him to kill other packs far in the east.", he frowned. "Yes... We found Sanji around our territory and helped him...", I said, Zoro looked at me and before he could ask, I lifted my hand. "He said that indeed; a high maintenance Hunter group working for the government has him...", I confirmed.

"That's impossible... I saw Luffy die that day...", growled Zoro.  "That would seem like a stretch but I believe that their plan was to surround both of you and get Luffy.", I frowned. "What's going to happen?", asked Zoro. "Pops is going after the government base... We're going in and rescuing the boy.", I explained. "What... You're going as well?", he frowned. "Yes, that is Ace's little brother... I'm heading in with the elite pack... I can't take Hayato but he'll be staying at the hotel with everyone else..", I frowned, Hayato fast asleep in my arms.'

"You can't just leave our son there. You're his mother, have you thought of what can happen if you die out there?", said Zoro, sounding more upset by the minute. "You're free to stay there with him but I believe in my team and that boy isn't going to be used any longer.", I growled. Zoro sighed and nodded; agreeing to help guard the hotel and staying with Hayato. I carried Hayato to the bed and laid there with him; carefully playing with his hair.

I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket and checked; it was from Ace. "(Y/n)... Will you want a ride back or will you be staying with Zoro?", he asked. "I'll be staying tonight, he's on with the plan... We'll meet up in a week like promised.", I smiled. He sighed, he didn't want me to be part of the plan because of Hayato, but he also knew that I would be a great asset to their team. "Okay, we'll be waiting for your return, (Y/n).", he answered, his voice laced with worry. "Ace, take care okay?", I reminded him. I felt Zoro stare at me after hanging up the phone. I ignored him and started to look for my laptop. There was a knock on the door and I went to open the door to find Sora and Law; I invited them in and they stared daggers at Zoro but said nothing.

"Thank you for coming... I hope your kids are all well.", I smiled. "They're fine, thanks to your help and the King's, the city is safer for everyone but now... This kid that you want to save... This is a military base that even my fathers can't infiltrate without facing consequences..", frowned Sora. "That's okay, we'll be sneaking in and out but the worst-case scenario is that we are going to have a battle on our hands...", I frowned. "The kids been in a coma for five years, if my informant is correct they are performing experiments on him. His brother is coming with us, correct?", asked Law. "Yes, this plan is highly risky and we are going to lose people...", I explained. Sora and Law paid attention to the plan and the strategies that we would use; we didn't want any trouble with the Book Keepers or their King, we would try not to kill anyone.

"Then we meet there in one week.", said Sora, her gaze darkened and she walked over to Zoro. Law asked to see Hayato and I took him upstairs, while Zoro and Sora talked. "Your wife looks like she might murder him...", I chuckled. "What he did wasn't completely his fault but one thing that all men must know when having a mate is that you should control yourself and never cause any harm to them.", frowned Law, sitting next to Hayato. "He's grown so much.", I smiled. "Are you sure that you want to go through with the plan?", asked Law. I felt my heart clench and I nodded; if my child was to be in the same situation as Luffy, I would die.

"If they kept an Alpha like that kid hostage for experimentation, what can we expect them to do to our children...", I growled. Law's jaw tightened; his family was his everything, I was sure that simple thought that his children were in Luffy's place gave him a cold chill. "Then you have a point... I don't want my children to live in constant fear...", he sighed. Sora was next to us and seemed content; I didn't question it. They left and I sat next to Hayato; soon Zoro came upstairs and joined me on the opposite side. He looked at me and then at Hayato, he suddenly took my hand in his, bringing it up to his lips. I shivered and blushed as he kissed my wrist gently, my body had missed him after leaving.

"I'm sorry... For everything...", he sighed, keeping a hold on my wrist. I frowned and pulled away, my heart was in pain from removing my wrist. I knew that our feelings were once again linked from the tears that fell from both our eyes. I walked over; taking a seat next to him, cupping his face, and bringing him closer. The kiss was gentle, no anger or sadness in it; he ran his fingers through my hair, slowly making the kiss last longer. When we both pulled away; he held me close and kept apologizing, I said nothing, only wrapping my arms around his torso. There was nothing to forgive; we all made mistakes, even though the events that had unfolded separated us, we now were in each other's arms.

After a week, we all reunited to review our plan to enter and recover Luffy. "Our time is limited...", frowned Ace. "Then we do our best tonight...", I said, the pack nodded and Pops looked at me like a proud father. I smiled back and organized the groups; Zoro looked at me while holding Hayato. "Are you sure you'll be okay?", frowned Zoro. "Yes, Zoro... You take care of this place and our son...", I smiled and kissed their cheeks. "Bye mommy!", squealed Hayato. I smiled and kissed his forehead, part of me wanted to stay there with them but if the government kept doing this we would keep being hunted down.

Ace, Teach, and I entered the back of the building; following the plan. I knocked out the guards and we proceeded to enter the labs. To our horror, there were hundreds of dead specimens of different creatures. "Ace... Teach... There are cages over there... Release them and I'll look in the other labs...", I growled. "This isn't part of the plan.", sighed Teach. "We won't leave them here! Communicate with the others and tell them that we are releasing all of the creatures here.", I said, glaring at Teach. Ace nodded and started talking to the others and Teach started breaking the cages. I ran and opened many cages; until I reached the end of the building to be face to face with a large iron door. I kicked it many times before it plunged into the darkness inside.

I entered and saw a boy chained up heavily; I held my breath and ran to him. "Luffy???", I said, smacking his face gently. He didn't wake up, I growled and struggled before the chains broke. Without a second to think, I threw him over my shoulders and started to walk out of the cell, I felt Luffy move slightly and I suddenly felt no weight on my shoulders; I looked back to see the boy standing there, his gaze to the floor. I frowned and approached him but immediately was punched in my ribs; I cried as I was sent through the air.

I hit the wall, the air rushing out of my lungs and the taste of metal covered the inside of my mouth; I coughed and held my side.  The boy's crimson eyes looked into mine but he wasn't there, his eyes showed no sign of life."L-Luffy... I'm here to help you...", I said, standing and trying to heal as quickly as possible. There was no response from him; just silence and then he finally spoke. "I don't need your help...", he said, he charged at me and this time I evaded but blood ran down my face.

He's faster than normal... What did they do to this kid...

I gasped as I felt my body start to heal, and I charged at him. Before he could land another blow, I pinned him down, long enough for someone to come give me back up. The alarms started to go off and the sound pierced my ears; I wanted to howl in pain but I kept Luffy down as he squirmed under my weight. I heard a laugh resonate all around the room and I growled; I looked up to see Teach enter the room. "Teach! Hurry the fuck up and help me!", I ordered.

Where is Ace?

He smirked and walked over; his boot connected with my jaw and a sickening crack echoed through my skull as I hit the ground a few feet from Luffy and him. "Stupid girl, I'm not here to help you. I'm here to take this experiment back so they can finish wiring him up for the war that's going to be unleashed on that stupid old man and his pack.", he laughed. I stood up shakily and snarled at him, my jaw fixing itself. "You dare betray Pops like this?! I will personally make sure to kill you then!", I shouted, my anger taking over.

"That's if you can reach me.", he smirked and let go of Luffy, who immediately started attacking me; I dodged and blocked his attacks. I heard a shot being fired and got grazed by a bullet; the searing pain shot out into my body. I looked at Teach as he held a gun; I wouldn't die from the shot but I would not be able to move if those bullets were made out of silver. "Out of all of us, Whitebeard chose you to be his successor, the heir to his throne... A bitch that isn't even a pure-blood can not take over! I should have been his successor. The King of the North.", shouted Teach.

"I didn't even know I was chosen! This will not help you in any way! Pops is going to skin you alive, MARSHALL D. TEACH!", I screamed as I punched Luffy into a wall, his body went rigid. "Looks like you broke the kid, (Y/n). I'm sure Ace will never forgive you for that. That fool is still liberating creatures while he thinks I'm here to help you.", smirked Teach. The red lights and the alarms going off didn't help me in the current situation I was in; I had to get Luffy and get out but my obstacle, Teach, wasn't going to let me. He raised the gun and pointed it at me; I ran and dodged the shots being fired; he laughed but was interrupted as I kicked him on his temple, his body flew into a nearby wall and created a huge hole. I coughed up blood and walked over to Luffy and threw him over my shoulders, I could hear everything distorted, my vision blurred and I had nothing on me.

"THERE IS A KING ATTACKING THE BASE! ALL UNITS REPORT TO DEFEND THE ENTRANCE! I REPEAT THE KING OF THE NORTH IS ATTACKING! TAKE DOWN ALL OF THE PACK AND EDWARD NEWGATE AS WELL!", shouted the person over the intercom. I was shocked and started to speed up my pace, Pops wasn't supposed to be here.

Teach couldn't have... this is a bloody trap... That fucking two-timer...

This meant that the Book Keepers would show up and the government would go after Pops. Suddenly there was shouting from behind me and shots were fired; I started running, the others were probably still releasing all of the experiments. "(Y/n)!", shouted an all too familiar voice. I looked up and saw Zoro running towards me; relief washed over me and my body fell into his arms. Zoro quickly lifted us and I looked around; we were outside and there were so many bodies. I tried to get down but Zoro didn't let me go.

"I have to find Pops!", I frowned, Zoro frowned but nodded and started to look around. I looked in the direction of an explosion and there he was, surrounded by flames and covered in blood and horrible wounds. "POPS!!!", I screamed. He turned his head slightly and smiled at me; I squirmed out of Zoro's grasp and started running to him; I grabbed a knife from the ground and started cutting through the soldiers that got in my way. I heard my name being called but I didn't turn; I could see that Pops stood there and at his side was Thatch along with many others.

I was pinned down by Sora and I screamed as the soldiers started shooting at them. They were stopping them from getting the rest of us; the others fell to the ground and I felt my world fall apart, my family was dying and I couldn't help them. "You need to go! Hayato is waiting for you, (Y/n)!", shouted Sora, keeping her hold on me. The face of my son appeared in my mind and his little hands in mine, I stopped and Sora lifted me up. "(Y/N)!! LEAD YOUR PACK BACK HOME! THIS IS MY LAST ORDER!", commanded Pops. My tears fell and ran down my face, I sobbed and started turning back when I heard it, Teachs laugh.  "YOUR DEATH WILL BE AS PATHETIC AS YOU, WHITEBEARD!", laughed Teach as he started attacking Pops.

They fought and just as Pops was about to finish Teach, a bullet blew part of Pops head off. I gasped and felt Sora's grip tighten from the shock. I looked over to see one of the most brutal hunters on the planet, Sakazuki. He stood there with a horrible looking rifle, he shot again and pierced Pops chest. "KILL ALL OF THESE BEASTS!", he commanded. I snapped out of my current shock and looked out at everyone that was still alive. "EVERYONE, Retreat.", I growled. The pack that had followed Pops now started to retreat; Sakazuki looked at me and scowled. "BRING ME THAT GIRL'S HEAD!", he commanded and the soldiers started walking towards me.

"STOP THIS AT ONCE!"
