"You made the right choice," Harley whispers to me.
"I love you."

"I love you too," I say back as I let Everest drag me away, back to our territory.  I know what your thinking, 'are you really giving up your one true mate?' And I have an answer. No. I'm not.

We promised each other that once I accomplish my dream, of being a warrior, we'll be with each other. He'll come live with my family on our territory.

'Why can't he stay now?' I have a good reason for that too. He says I need to focus on myself and my school before we can be together forever.

This wasn't a break up, I mean we can't anyway, but its a break. The only thing that'll keep us going is the thought of seeing each other again.

"Sis," Everest shakes me. I snap out of my daydream.

"Yes?" I say with a bit too much anger in my voice, giving away my current mood.

"Are you ok? Do I need to take you back to Harley? Are you going through mate withdrawal? Is that even a thing?!" Everest starts freaking out over what he should do.

"I appreciate you helping me, Ev, but I just need some alone time right now," I say softly. I hold back my inevitable tears. He nods his head and leaves quietly. He continues to glance back at me as he leaves me sitting on a log, inside of our territory.

As soon as hes out of sight, I let my tears fall quickly. I allow myself to finally feel my emotions. I cry myself out for another 5 minutes. I sit there sniffling, as my heart continues to hurt.

'Its ok, little one, I'll care for you. Harley will be there for us always.' My sold whispers soothing things into my ears. I trust my wolf with everything I have, I know she won't forsake me.

"You've been moppy all day. What's wrong?" Axel asks, pulling me into a closet. Our close proximity makes my breath hitch. I don't like him like that, I have a mate. Do not ship us!

"Nothing," I mumble, trying to squeeze past him.

"Is it Harley? I swear I'll rip him to sh-" I cut him off with a muffled sob.
"Ember?"

"I had to choose fighting or him. I chose fighting," I cry out, falling to the ground. He drops down beside me.

"Gosh, I'm sorry Em," he puts an arm around my sobbing body, trying to sooth me.

After a couple of minutes of sitting like that, my tears calm and the only sound in that closet is the sound of our quiet breathing.

"I've got a surprise for you." Acel suddenly says. I look up into his eyes.

"What?"

"A surprise. Follow me," he stands up and outstretches his hand for me to take. I take it without hesitating. He pulls me up and we walk out the door of the cramped closet.

"Can I look now?" I whine, hands on the blind fold he put on me.

"No." He says, continuing to guide me. A few more seconds pass.

"Now?" I say.

"Ember," he warns.

"Now?!" I half shout at him.

"You are the mist impatient person I have ever met. No!" He says, lightly slapping my arm.

"Rude." I say quietly, stomping my foot.
"Wait. Why do you even have a blind fold?"

"Oh baby, you know that reason all too well," Axel teases me.

"You're a psycho murder and you use this blind fold on unsuspecting victims?" I smile widely as Axel slaps me.

"You and I, Ember, are two very different people," he pauses.
"I was thinking more along the lines of Fifty Shades of Grey."

"That doesn't mean your not a murder," I tease him.

"The only thing I ever murder is-"

"Don't even think about finishing that sentence, Axel."

"-is my food. Geez, Em, what were you thinking? Pervert." I reach out to slap him, but I'm still wearing the blind fold so I miss, earning a chuckle from Axel.

Suddenly, Axel rips my blind fold off. My eyes try to adjust to the sudden brightness, when I'm overwhelmed with a feeling of joy.

"What's up girl?" Remi smiles as she continues laying on the bed, holding 1 tub of chocolate ice cream, 1 tub of coffee, and 1 tub of vanilla, and several other items of junk food. She also is holding some of my favorite movie disks, as well as tissues and wine.

My eyes begin to water with tears. "Aw, you guys!" I squeal as I throw my arms around Axel. I rush over to Remi and crush her in a bear hug.

"I love you guys so much!" I cry out as jump onto the king sized bed, diving under the warm blankets.

"We love you too Ember," Axel smiles at me, and Remi nods, with a giant grin.

"Now how about that ice cream?"

What up y'all? I was typing this on the bus, to school, while a little kid was singing "Spider Boy" over and over again.
