Wiping his hands on a hand towel, Kaden tossed it on the table. Blood had covered his hands and they had needed to be wiped away.
"Take his body back to his family so they can bury him. I got what I needed." telling his guard as he walked out of the room.
Descending the stairs, he was met with a nervous Mr. Wilkins who looked like he would soil his pants at any minute.
Pulling out a manila envelope from his coat pocket, Kaden handed it over to the old man. "Your payment for your help."
"Thank you my King." bowing his head after taking it.
Nodding at Mr. Wilkins, Kaden continued out the front door to his next destination until Mr. Wilkins spoke behind him.
"My King?"
Stopping, he turned his head to the side waiting for the old man to speak. "May I ask what he did? You mentioned he betrayed the Kingdom. Did... did he reveal important information?"
Not replying right away, he nodded his head yes.
"I'm- I'm sorry for being nosy. Was just curious why you would come here personally to apprehend a fugitive when you have your guards to do so for you."
"It was personal. He caused someone's death."
Widening his eyes, Mr. Wilkins says. "He killed someone?"
"He might as well have done it himself." walking out of the Inn without another word. The fugitive he had been searching for met his fate because of his actions. Actions that had caused Kaden to do something he thought he never would have had to do.

Blaze slowed down once he reached the end of the dark woods. One thing about his land, it was surrounded by large areas of forest land where he and his people can run around freely. They barely had outsiders and if they did, they were cautious around them.
Glancing up to the starry sky, he grinned up at the full moon that was peaking behind the hill side. Closing his eyes, he concentrated on the noises around him and the chore in task.
Opening his now onyx soulless eyes, he rushed towards the edge of the woods towards the village over from where the fugitive had been hiding.
The lights from homes came to sight a few minutes later making him stop in his tracks. Closing his eyes once more, he tilted his head up to smell the air. A low growl resonated from his throat, his eagerness getting the best of him.
Pausing a few yards away from an Inn, he looks around to make sure he is alone. He was on a mission not wanting to be interrupted nor did he want someone to recognize him. It was enough he had to hide what he was about to do. He didn't need one of his werewolves questioning his motives.
He turned his head towards the Inn. The reason he was there. He couldn't help but feel anger towards it. How could someone detest a building as much as he did at that moment?
Controlling his breathing, he cracked his neck to release the tension that had been building for the past days. Soon enough he'll be in a better relaxing mood.
Time seemed to go by slowly. His eyes never moving away from the window on the second floor of the Inn. He would wait as long as he had to.
After thirty minutes, a light illuminated from the room he was carefully watching. He knew the other person that had betrayed him had walked in. "About time." grunting internally.
"You need to calm down and not f**k this up. Everything has to go as planned." Kaden reminded Blaze. He knew too well how temperamental he was.
"Stop reminding me. I know the plan." snapping back.
He waited in the shadows of the overgrown forest watching her silhouette move around her room. He was growing impatient by the minute wanting to claim and possess what was rightfully his.
Tonight will be the night that he claimed her, even though she had already rejected him. He hadn't taken it lightly when she had walked away from him, so now he will have her in any way possible.
The light shut off letting him know that in a few minutes she will fall into a deep slumber. Dashing across the field reaching the bottom of the Inn, he noticed the opened balcony doors. It's as if she had known he would be arriving to claim her.
Turning back into his God given shape, he jumped up onto the second floor with no difficulty. The night's cool breeze woke up his senses as he smelled her intoxicating scent. "MINE!" he growled.
Once inside he smirked at the sight of his Mate sound asleep. Walking over to her, he breathes her in to ease the beast within. "The potion should be working now. Catalina." calling out to her she stirred.
His body settled on top of hers, his hardened manhood brushing her bare thigh causing him to growl lowly. His beast was trying to convince him to take her, after all, he is the Alpha King and she was his.
Lowering his head, he kissed her neck causing her to moan. Sucking the area he would mark her, he extended his canines grazing her skin. "You can't escape me know my Queen."
Sinking into her neck, her body arched involuntarily as he held her down. Pulling away he licked the blood droplets away then kissed it, she let out a loud moan. "You are bound to me forever my beautiful Catalina... only me." whispering in her ear he then crashed his lips on hers tasting them like he had wanted too since he first saw her.
To his people, his Mate had met her unfortunate fate that night she had crashed in the ditch. He had found her too late to actually had met her. It was a tragedy that he had to bare.
But the true tragedy was that Catalina hadn't been in that taxi cab. It had been another female that looked like her, she was even wearing his Mate's jacket to smell like her.
Beyond the rage he had felt when discovering what his clever Mate had done, Kaden and Blaze hatched a plan of their own. To get their people to sympathize with them and to find where Catalina had been hiding... then make her pay for her betrayal.
