One: Cece

"Cece! The order for table number four is ready!" Graham, my 'boss' yelled from the kitchen.

I got off the counter table and started walking to the little window at the kitchen where the plate of eggs and bacon and refill of coffee was placed. I glanced at the clock fixed on the cafés wall and silently cursed.

If this shift doesn't get over soon, I'm so screwed. I thought as I picked up the order and walked over to the table of the elderly couple and placed the plates in front of them and refilled their coffees. They gave me a warm smile that I returned, before walking back to the counter.

I sat on the stool and looked around, the small café wasn't too crowded today, only a couple of people who had a little time before work or who were too lazy to cook breakfast. One thing common amongst all these faces was sleep. Seriously, they all looked like they needed at least two more hours of sleep, well, except maybe the old couple I just served. It's no wonder our coffee got sold so quickly in the mornings.

The café itself had a homey feeling to it, quite literally for me since I lived right upstairs. The walls consisted mostly of glass on two sides of the door, which was also made of glass that had 'Fulton's Café' written on it in a half circle, the cafes logo that was stitched on our shirt's breast pockets as well. There were booths on the far end of the room that were semi private for couples, the other tables were fairly large for the teenagers who hang here after school.

School, now that was a place I didn't get to experience, not much at least.
But, the years I was supposed to spend in school, I spent going through things much worse than homework and math, things no person should go through.

I shook my head of those horrid thoughts and went back to reading my chemistry book. Since I didn't go to school, for the past seven years, I've been borrowing books from the Milestone's local, and only, library and gathering up as much knowledge as I can. In the first year here, I figured out that I was what the teens here call a 'nerd' as I could read up and retain a lot of knowledge in the spare time I got. Or maybe it's because I don't have the pressure of writing tests and gaining marks on my head.

I was so engrossed in reading about chemical reactions that I didn't hear the people walking in the café, and Graham yelled at me again from the kitchen. I huffed, putting my book down. Seriously, Am I the only waitress here? I thought with irritation but stopped in my tracks when I saw the new customers.

Oh no. They're here already.

I turned to look at Lilly, one of the other waitresses here with a pleading look. "Lilly, can you please take the order? I just need to go to the washroom real quick for... You know." I said quickly. She looked up at me and nodded in understanding, her golden ringlets bobbing slightly at the motion.

"Yeah, sure. If you need something, my locker is open." She said and got up and walked up to the table of the people who still haunt my memories.

While getting up from the stool and making my way to the washrooms, I saw her talking, most likely introducing herself and asking what they want, usual procedure. One of the men looked up at her and glanced my way, but I hid my face in my hair and continued walking away.

However, because my head was facing the floor, I didn't see where I was going and bumped into a hard wall, but I knew it wasn't a wall. Walls don't have arms, and there are definitely two arms around mine, holding me still. Walls don't smell like the first rains and men's cologne. And more importantly, walls don't make tingles shoot through my body, no, that's what a certain someone is supposed to do. My suspicions were confirmed when I looked up into the dark brown eyes and the man whispered,

"Mate."

A/n: hey there, I don't know how many people read these, I mostly don't, but this is my new book. Be sure to check out my other books 'The Bad Boy's Princess' and 'Mission: Clumsiness'

I know, I know, I've got two other books and I'm hardly updating those, but I've got so many ideas in my head ad I need a place to write them down or I swear I'll go crazy.

And I realize that there's hardly any dialogue in this chapter so I'll try to make the next chapter bigger. This isn't going to be a very big book, at least I don't plan on it being, we'll see how it goes.

I'm going to try the guys point of view in this book and try and alternate between the two, means, one chapter will be in the girls point of view and the next one will be the guy's and the one after that will be girl again and so on. But if my Guy's point of view isn't good, it'll be only girls point of view.

Well, that's all for now.

Don't forget to
