Hearts part 1
Rin
Len and I were the apparent explorers of Wonderland as no one else dared to venture into the places that we travelled. We learned of many places and of the people before us who tried. We learned of a section of forest where a supposed small battle was held. One person against maybe a hundred. The place where a singer that enchanted the people who heard their music and many more things.
"Len! I found something!" I shouted to my brother.
"What is it?" he asked then noticed what I was pointing to. "What is that?"
A sword stuck in the dirt. The hilt and blade both covered in some dark red substance. An angry light that seemed meancing radiated from the sword. Like the person who once wielded it was still there and still very much angry.
"Remember the tale of the swordswoman dressed in red?" I asked him.
"Yeah, what about it?"
"Do you think that this is her sword?"
"It could be. The men who fought against her said that she had a sword covered in blood. It hadn't been cleaned in a while as there was already blood from the last town she visited."
"Well then help me," I said and started pulling it up.
"Why?"
"Because it's heavy. I don't go walking around with a sword every day."
Len sighed, "All right."
---
"We can take it back with us to the town, show the mayor," I suggested.
"And I'm carrying it?"
"Of course."
The rest of the day was trying to get the sword back to town with Len complaining the whole way. As we were nearing the edge of the forest I heard a dull thud behind me.
"Rin, what's that?" Len asked. I turned around and saw him pointing at nothing.
"What are you talking about? There's nothing there," I answered.
"No, there's this... this thing standing there, it's white and starting to creep me out," Len said. I could hear him starting to panic. "Let's get going."
Upon seeing the bed in the room of the inn we were staying at Len decided to sleep on the floor for the night while I slept in the bed. He snatched one of the flat pillows and a blanket before trying to make himself cozy on the wood.
"Hey, Rin," Len said, "that thing I saw. It appeared again in the mayors office."
"Are you sure you're not seeing things?" I asked. "Its concerning me."
"Hey, since no one has ever come back from the Edge of Wonderland do you want to explore it?" Len asked me, completely ignoring my question.
"Eh, uh, sure... Sure. Why?" I asked.
"Well, no one has ever come back and maybe, you know, we could tell people about what the Edge of Wonderland is like." Len answered.
