Chapter I

Elsa walked to the throne room with Anna by her side.

"Did the guards tell you who it is?" Anna asked curiously.

"No, but they said she was a friend," Elsa responded before they entered the throne room to see Aquaria. Anna gasped and smiled brightly.

"Aqua! It's been so long! We missed you so much!" Anna ran over to hug her.

"I missed you too!" Aqua said as she hugged Anna and Elsa joined the hug as well.

"Are you here alone? I didn't see any Coronan ships at the dock," Elsa said and Aqua hummed.

"I am alone and I didn't come by ship," Aqua answered and Anna was curious.

"Then how did you get here?" Anna asked.

"My ability," Aqua replied and Anna's eyes widened.

"Ability?"

"Wait, you don't know?" Aqua asked and Elsa hummed.

"Well, you did keep it a secret for a while and you haven't been here since my coronation," Elsa said and Aqua hummed.

"That is true. I'm sorry, Anna. I thought that you knew. I have the ability to control water," Aqua explained.

"That is so cool!" Anna said with a bright smile.

Elsa noticed that Aqua was wincing every so often and she looked at the wrap that was on the young princess's arm.

"What happened to your arm?" Elsa asked gently and Aqua froze before she looked at the ground.

"I-I... I'll tell you another time..." She fought back tears as she thought about the fight against Varian.

"I understand. If you need to get a fresh bandage, just let me know," Elsa said and Aqua nodded.

"Thank you," she said softly.

"Well, now that you're here, Aqua, you've gotta come hang out with us!" Anna said with a bright smile.

"Alright!" Aqua nodded quickly, wanting to get her mind off of Varian as much as possible.

🧪

Varian was lying on his cot as his mind ran wild, thinking about what he would do if and when he got out of his cell.

He looked at Ruddiger who was curled up on his legs and in his peripheral vision he saw a piece of paper in his apron pocket. He pulled out the paper, seeing that it was the drawing of him and Aquaria.

Tears immediately sprung in his eyes. He already wanted her to come back and keep him company. He missed her so much and no matter how hard he tried or how many times he said it, he couldn't hate her.

He sat up and Ruddiger chittered as he climbed up onto Varian's shoulder's.

"I don't know what I'm going to do buddy... what if I really never see her again?"

"Aren't you the one who told her that you never want to see her again?"

"Huh?" Varian looked up and saw his cellmate looking at him.

"You are talking about the little princess, right?" The guy asked and Varian glared.

"What's it to you?" Varian asked bitterly.

"Oh, I'm just a spectator. Your whole show the other night was quite entertaining," he said with a bit of a chuckle.

"Well I'm glad that my suffering was enjoyable for you," Varian grumbled.

"Oh, it didn't really look like you were suffering. It was the pipsqueak princess who's suffering was entertaining. By the way, my name is Andrew," his cellmate said and Varian huffed. "Look, we both wanna get out of here so why don't we work together?"

"Why would I work with you?" Varian looked at Andrew with a raised eyebrow.

"Because I think it's time you got yourself some better friends."

💧

"Aquaria! Come on!"

Aqua giggled as she ran through the halls with Anna.

"Why are we running?"

"We gotta get to the study! Elsa has a big surprise!" Anna explained.

"Really?!"

They skidded to a stop when they were met by Elsa outside of the study.

"What's the surprise?!" Aqua asked excitedly and Elsa smiled as she motioned to the door.

"Go inside," Elsa said and the young princess excitedly went into the room, but froze when she saw the surprise.

"I remember how much you love science so I thought that you would love to have your own lab here for whenever you stay," Elsa said with a smile.

Aqua wasn't smiling though. She looked at the set up of science materials. There was a magnifying glass, beakers, vials, test tubes, and a bunch of other scientific implements. She started to cry which made Elsa frown.

"I-I'm sorry. I thought you would like it. You don't have to use it if you don't-"

"It's not that I don't like it... I just... I need to go..." Aqua dash to her room.

Elsa hummed before she looked at Anna. "Something happened to her back home."

"How can you be sure?" Anna asked, worried about their friend.

"She barely eats. She cries herself to sleep and certain things seem to set her off," Elsa explained and Anna hummed in thought.

"You're right... she has been off... I mean, she hasn't even mentioned her friend Varian at all in the entire time she's been h- I think I know what's wrong."

Anna quickly turned on her heel and ran to find Aquaria.

She knocked on Aquaria's door gently. "Aqua? Are you in there?"

"Y-yeah..."

"Can I come in?" Anna asked through the door.

"S-sure..."

Anna carefully opened the door and saw Aqua curled in a ball in her bed.

"Aquaria, what happened between you and Varian?" Anna asked as she sat beside Aqua on the bed.

"How did you-"

"You haven't said his name at all. Normally you always talk about him," Anna said gently and Elsa walked into the room, sitting on the corner of the bed.

"H-he hates me and never wants to see me again, but I love him so much!" Aquaria sobbed and Anna hugged her.

"I'm sure he didn't mean it," Anna assured the teen, but Aqua shook her head.

"He meant it... it's all my fault... I made him hate me..." Aqua trembled.

Kristoff walked into the room with a smile.

"Guys, Sven and I-"

"Not now, Kristoff," Elsa said and Kristoff saw his girlfriend holding the Coronan princess.

"Why do you think it's your fault? What happened?" Anna asked

Aquaria sniffed and looked at the picture on her night stand that she had drawn to recreate the photo she had drawn for Varian years ago. "He needed my help during a storm, but I wasn't allowed to leave the palace. I knew he was upset because I couldn't come with him and his father was, and still is, stuck in this amber substance. The amber is unbreakable and so he tried to get me to steal an object that he thought would be able to break the amber."

"That's awful," Anna said softly.

"I told him that I wouldn't help him steal the flower and he got angry... h-he needed Rapunzel's hair to try and break the amber, but it didn't work... he attacked us and now he's in jail and he told me that he never wants to see me ever again... he said that he wishes we never met..."

"I am so sorry, Aquaria... so is that how your arm was sliced?" Elsa asked gently and Aqua nodded.

"Yeah... there was a blast of energy and I was cut by one of the black rocks."

"Well the doctor said it should heal nicely as long as you keep it protected and change your bandage every so often," Elsa said gently.

Aqua nodded and closed her eyes before say, "I just... need some rest..."

"Okay. Try and be down for dinner," Elsa requested to which Aquaria nodded.

Everyone left Aquaria's room so she curled up after grabbing the picture she had painted of her, Varian, and Ruddiger.

"I can't do science without him... what am I going to do now?"
