A Twist of Fate: Part 1
Chapter One: A Twist Of Fate
"Come on, Rogue, show me what you got!" Logan demanded. This had been her third danger room session in two days. Rogue was determined to prove that she was still a vital member of the team even without her powers.
She easily blocked a kick, which made her angry. Logan was purposely taking it easy on her. "Ah will, if you will!" she shouted as she gave him a drop kick. He flew back but quickly recovered. Rogue was angry now as she went for him again. Her anger made her lose focus, and Logan easily pinned her to the floor.
"That's enough for today," he said as he rose slowly to his feet.
"Logan, ah can keep goin'," she, said even though she was panting heavily. She remained in a sitting position on the floor.
"No way, Darlin'," he said. "You're pushin' yourself way too hard."
"Ah can take it," she said, rising to her feet. "So stop coddlin' me."
"Sorry, kid, but that's it for today, and I'll tell you why. You're angry, distracted, and unfocused, and that can get you killed."
Rogue had to admit that he was right. She was so busy trying to prove that she was just as good as she used to be, that she lost sight of her objective. Plus, there was something else that was occupying her mind. Bobby. It had been months since she had taken the Cure and he was pulling away from her. She thought the Cure could solve all her problems, but it only complicated her life more.
Rogue looked away from Logan, not wanting him to see the sorrow in her eyes. "Wanna talk about it, kid?"
"No," she said. After a pause she looked at him. "Same time tomorrow?"
"Yeah, sure," Logan said as she left through the entrance door.
She walked to the kitchen and had some hot coco before heading upstairs. It was getting on about ten o'clock and she wanted to see Bobby before going to bed. She never went to bed this early, but for some reason she was exhausted. It was more of a mental tiredness than a physical one.
She soon reached his room and knocked on his door, "Bobby," she called out. She heard a faint commotion and opened the door part way. "Bobby!" she shouted in horror. "What the hell!"
"Rogue," he called out covering himself with a sheet.
She slumped down the hall. She couldn't believe it. There he was in the buff with Kitty Pride. She had almost reached her room when Bobby caught up with her. He was wearing nothing but a pair of boxer shorts. She turned around and gave him a once over. Never had she felt more disgusted in her life.
"Get the hell away from me, Bobby Drake!" she shouted. She turned the knob on the door to her room.
"Rogue, let me explain," he said. "It's not what you think."
"Not what ah think? So you an' Kitty were just pretending to fuck. It sure as hell looked real t'me."
"Rogue, please try to understand..."
"Oh, ah understand, Bobby," she shouted, pointing a finger in his face. "Now you understand this. We're through." Rogue finally got her door opened and went inside and slammed it in Bobby's face.
"Rogue, you don't mean that!" he shouted from the other side, pounding on the door.
All she wanted to do was lie in her bed and cry her eyes out, but she was too angry to indulge in it. Instead she went to her closet to change her clothes. She hunted for just the right outfit, something sexy. She figured if Bobby could indulge in carnal acts with Kitty, then why couldn't she with whomever she pleased? Revenge sex, that would make her feel better, or so she thought.
