Lazy day
"Sirius, stop it." I giggled as he kept peppering kisses on my neck.
"Oh come on, sunshine. Please?" Sirius pouted and gave me the puppy eyes.
"You know those don't work on me. In fact, it's the other way around." I smirked and flipped so that I was on top. "And that's how you do it."
"I actually like you like this, so I'm not complaining." Sirius gripped my hips and flipped us again. "But I like this one better."
"Now don't be a tease, Pads. It never turns out good for you." I laughed and tugged his hair.
"Maybe today is my lucky day." Sirius smirked.
"Let's see."
...
"Your hands are tiny."
"It's not my fault that your hands are huge compared to mine." I rolled my eyes and Sirius put his hand in mine comparing the sizes.
"They're so tiny and delicate. Who would think that such small hands can punch the daylights out of the Deatheaters?" Sirius chuckled and kissed them. "But I love how they fit in mine. It's like the missing piece of a puzzle."
"That's cheesy as hell, Pads."
"Yeah, but you love me for it." Sirius smirked and kissed me.
"That I do, my love. That I-"
Knock, knock, knock.
"It was supposed to be a lazy day." Sirius mumbled against my lips and stood up. I laughed and grabbed one of his shirts.
"They boys practically live here, Pads. It's a miracle they knocked." I shrugged and jumped on his back. "Onward my trusty steed!"
"What the actual hell?" Sirius laughed walking down the stairs. I shrugged and kissed his cheek.
"I dunno." Sirius chuckled and opened the door to reveal two confused boys and Lily. "Hi guys! Where's Wormy?"
"Sirius why are you shirtless? Nobody is interested in your abs. And Wormtail's visiting his family. Some relatives came into town." James said walking inside and throwing himself on the couch.
"I am interested in those abs." I smirked and sat on Lily's lap.
"You two are actually lucky that I told them to knock. Somehow I knew that you two were up to something." Lily smiled and started to play with my hair.
"It was supposed to be a lazy day. We don't get those anymore." Sirius shrugged and sat down next in between James and Remus.
"Sorry about that." Remus chuckled.
"What were you two doing anyways?" James asked looking at me. I looked at Lily who immediately started to laugh.
"Do you really want them to answer that question, sweetheart?" Lily smirked.
"I changed my mind. I don't want to know anymore." James shuddered and we laughed. "I should've caught the hint when I saw Didi in Sirius' shirt."
"It's nothing new. She steals all of our clothes. She even wore my boxers once." Remus shrugged. Lily gave me a look and I nodded.
"They're really comfortable! Can you blame me?" I smiled and leaned closer to Lily. "Can you cuddle me? The boys are far away."
"Sure." Lily chuckled and wrapped her arms around me.
"Moony, cuddle me. I'm needy." Sirius whined.
"Fuck off, Sirius."
...
"Do you think this needs more flobberworm mucus or lavender?"
"Jade, I'm planning a wedding and you're asking me about potions?" Lily rolled her eyes flipping through a muggle magazine.
"It's for Regulus. His letters are worrying me, Lils. I'm sending him some sleeping potions to help him fall asleep easier and not get nightmares." I shrugged. "I'm sending him a month's worth of it."
"Then put some more lavender, the stink from the mucus is killing me over here. If not, then put some chamomile and that should knock him right out." I nodded and put some more lavender and chamomile for good measure. I let the potion simmer for a while and threw myself in the bed next to Lily. "You sleeping okay? We haven't talked in a while."
"Sometimes. Pads is the worst though. I sometimes wake up to find him on the roof or in the kitchen crying or just not saying anything. I'm worried that he's slowly losing himself because of this war." I said and took a look at the magazine. "Those flowers are pretty. You should put those in the decorations."
"What do you mean losing himself?" Lily asked me concerned.
"I dunno, Lils. Sometimes he becomes distant or just gets angry for no apparent reason. He says that every time he sees me hurt, he has to fight the urge to kill someone. We've also gotten into a couple of arguments about his 'family' but those never last long."
"He's angry because someone had the audacity to hurt his sunshine, Jade. It'll never matter to him if the other person looks worse than you. Sirius will always be focused on you. Last time I went on a mission with him, he was driving me insane! 'We need to hurry up because I need to see that my sunshine is okay.' That man fucking adores you even more than you adore him. He cried because maybe the thought of possibly losing you is too much for him to handle. And I get why you two argue about his 'family', but sometimes it can be hard for him to understand it. Sirius is hardheaded sometimes but he knows you care. Just take it one day at a time, Jade." Lily said closing her magazine.
"I kinda needed to hear that. Thanks, Lils." I smiled.
"Anytime. And how do you do it?"
"Do what?"
"Keep the marriage interesting. You two are almost a year married and it looks and feels like you two were married yesterday or something. You feel the energy once you walk into this house. How do you do it?" Lily asked tilting her head.
"I dunno, really. Sirius and I just let things flow, I guess. It also helps that we're learning to talk about our problems and not let them consume us like we've always done." I shrugged.
"I want that, you know? James has been shutting off lately and it's worrying me." Lily said sadly.
"Don't pressure him into telling you what's wrong because he'll have a fit. Just get him some tea or coffee and wait a while. He usually talks after a while of just being quiet. We're all losing a part of ourselves in this war, Lils. It's normal for us to shut out for a while."
"You don't do it." Lily mumbled tearing up. I sighed and hugged her.
"I do. When it's not Pads on the roof crying, it's me. I'm slowly losing my sanity trying to find a way to end this war as fast as we can with the least amount of bloodshed possible." I said and wiped her tears.
"Have you ever thought about having kids? You're so great with Molly's kids and taking care of your boys. You'd make a great mother, Jade." Lily shrugged.
"Sirius and I have talked about it but we've come to the mutual agreement to not bring a kid in this world until it's safe for them. But then again, shit happens and I get pregnant then I'll be happy and try to raise this kid as best as I can." I said and went to check on the potion.
"Do you want a boy or a girl?"
"A girl first, then a boy. James is the firstborn so I just want to spite him by having a little girl first. Sirius feels the same way. He wants a Princess so he can spoil her rotten and teach her how a proper lady should be treated." I smiled remembering the conversation and smelled the potion. "I think it's done. A few drops and it should knock him tight out."
"James said he wants a boy first to keep on the Potter tradition of having boys first, but he also wants a girl so she can turn out just like her Aunt Jade." Lily smiled also.
"You mean a Slytherin and a badass? I'll take it."
...
~Sirius POV~
"How's wedding planning, Prongs? Lily driving you mad yet?" I smirked and took out the bottle of firewhiskey.
"It's going great, actually. We bought the house last week while you and Didi were on an Order mission. Next week, we're packing up her things and moving them into the house." James smiled and downed a shot. "How's my sister been?"
"Distant again. If it weren't for days like this, she would just be curled up on the sofa with a book and a sad expression on her face. The war is getting to her." I said sadly.
"Just give her some time, Pads. You haven't been yourself either." Remus shrugged.
"I know I haven't. I've been losing my shit every time she comes back injured or something. That's my sunshine they're messing with."
"All the more reason. She's become a target to mess with your mind. If you keep fussing about every little injury she has on the battlefield, they'll notice and guess what? They won't hesitate to capture or kill her just to get inside your head. I'm not saying you shouldn't worry because let's be honest, I worry a lot as well because Vixen's like my little sister, but maybe don't show it as much as you do. Especially in front of your cousin who has taken a liking to fighting Jade." Remus said downing a shot. I sighed and put my head in my hands.
"Padfoot, we're all terrified of losing Jade. She's the best thing that happened to all of us, especially you. I barely sleep whenever she's on a mission because we all know how reckless she is, especially if someone messes with her boys. She has moved heaven and hell for us and we did the same for her. But you have to accept the fact that she signed up for this. She wanted to fight, for you, for her boys, for herself. I'm fucking terrified of losing my twin almost as much as I'm terrified of losing Lily or any of you. But I know that if I tell her to stay home, she won't listen to me. The best thing you could do is just kick ass alongside her and help her when she's injured." James said and put an arm around me. I nodded and wiped the slight tears that were starting to form.
"I found some pictures the other day. They're from our school years. I found them while Vixen was with Moony and Marlene on a mission."
"Let's see them. I miss being in school actually. And I miss the map." Remus smirked. I laughed and went to get the box of pictures.
"Here we go." James smirked.
"Not gonna lie, I miss school sometimes. Life was much easier when all we had to worry about was being animagi without getting caught." James said looking at the pictures.
"And running for our lives when Vixen decided to leave us to face Filch's wrath." Remus laughed.
"Who had to face Filch's wrath?" I heard the soothing voice of my sunshine as she walked into the kitchen with Lily.
"We did." We all said in unison.
"You forget that I had my fair share of running from Filch alone." Jade smirked and sat on my lap. "Who's cooking dinner? I cooked last night and I'm tired."
"I will. James get off your ass and help me." Remus stood up and grabbed James by the collar. "Chicken with what?"
"Pasta. I'm in the mood for pasta." Jade said and cuddled closer to me. "You smell different."
"Why's that?" I asked and Lily looked at us smiling.
"I dunno. You smell like sex and bad decisions. I like it." Jade hid her face in my neck and Lily bursted out laughing.
"It's probably the booze." Lily gestured towards the bottle in her hands and took a sip. "Want some, Jade?"
"Give me that. I need some booze." Jade smirked and snatched the bottle from Lily.
"Didi, slow down." James smirked.
"Sod off, Prongs. I'm not a lightweight like you." Jade rolled her eyes and pecked my lips. "I love you."
"I love you more. And you taste like bad decisions." Lily and Jade laughed at this.
"As I should."
