Becky
It's been a week since Colby came home, we've spoken a little but he's mainly kept his distance from me. I know he needs time to adjust so I'm not gonna push him, I'm just glad he's home. Joe's been in and out of the hospital a lot more recently, he's got sick again but they caught it relatively early so he's getting treatments and they seem to be working. Ashley has been upset or stressed a lot but she doesn't want to put it on Joe so she's been coming over lots, we went and worked out in the gym and just got everything off our chests.

"Hey."

Colby spoke and it shocked me, I turn and see his face is all red and puffy.

"Hey."

"I'm sorry Rebecca. I know I've been a terrible husband and a terrible dad."

"Your not going to be a terrible father, our little one will be lucky to have you. Yes you haven't been the best husband but we're working on it."

His eyes looks so sad, I just want to hold him and tell him everything's alright.

"I feel like I've failed you..."

"No you haven't, look at me. I love you."

He looked taken aback, like he wasn't expecting it.

"Really? After everything I told you?"

"Yes, I've always loved you Colby. I wish you could see how much I adore you, when I saw Pauline I knew I was gonna have to force myself to not love you. But I can't, you are my soulmate."

"I love you too, I know everything has been bumpy and crazy but all I want is to be good to you."

"I know, I know."

"I needed to work through some things on my own before I came and spoke to you. Pauline made me feel worthless, she made me hate myself-...made me hate you."

He grabbed my hand and looked into my eyes.

"But she could never I love you too much. She said what an awful wife you must have been, she got in my head but I never thought that. All I wanted was to be back at your side."

"You're home now, I'm home now we're both safe."

I took a step towards him and he took one towards me, my eyes met his gaze and we stood there just staring at each other.

"Becks-."

"Shhhhh."

Every time I got closer so did he until our lips met, I pulled him close to me and kissed him like it was the only thing I had left. I didn't move away, I stayed in his embrace just taking it all in.

"I want to make up for all the things I did wrong..."

"Well you can start by washing the dishes."

I smirked at him and he pulled away and started to wash the dishes.

"Did you just let them pile up, did you even wash them at all?"

"Couldn't be bothered, had too much to do."

"Sorry."

"It's okay, you're making up for it now."

I sat on the counter and just washed him clean the mountain of dishes, I smiled to myself as my hand brushed across my lips. The kiss felt right, like we were meant to do it. I felt butterflies in my stomach when he kissed me, the more I think of the kiss the more flustered I became.

"All done! You alright Becks you look a little red."

"Yeah I'm good, just thinking."

"About?"

"Everything, also you haven't dried any of the dishes."

He looked back at the massive pile of clean dishes and shook his head before making his way over.

"I'm kidding, you don't actually have too. Do you wanna go for a walk?"

"Okay then, let me go and grab myself a jumper do you want one?"

"Get me one of yours."

He nodded and ran upstairs, he returned shortly after with two black and brave jumpers. I slid it over my head and made my way outside, he joined me not long after his hand just touching mine. I moved my hand a little closer and he intertwined our fingers, we walked around the block and stopped when we reached the park. It was late in the day so not many kids were here, I slowly walked through the park and let go of his hand when I reached the other side.

"Becky?"

I took a deep breath and I felt a strange feeling, I tried to ignore it but ten minutes later it happened again more painful then before. I took Colby's hand once more and quickly walked home.

"You alright?"

"Yeah I'm fine, just started to feel tired. I think I'm gonna head up to bed if that's alright?"

"You go, I'm just gonna read a book or something."

I was gonna make a joke but I felt it again, I climbed into my shower and the pain got stronger. I had to stop mid shower because it was getting so strong I could barely stand, I called for Colby. But he didn't come, I rung his phone and luckily he answered.

"Where are you?"

My voice was a mix of anger and worry.

"Just downstairs why?"

"Get your ass up here now."

"Wh-."

"Just do it god dammit and bring me something to wear."

I heard a knock on the door about ten minutes after and I let him in.

"I can't come in your naked!"

"Help me get fucking changed before I kill you!"

My pain is manifesting into anger and I feel bad for taking it out on Colby.

"Jeez alright, you haven't told me what's the matter!"

I grabbed his arm and screamed out in pain and I think he realised as his face changed.

"You're only 31 weeks pregnant!"

"You think I don't know that! Come on we don't have much time, Please just help."

I stood up and my waters broke, Colby tried drying me as I put on my clothes. We walked down to the car and luckily I already had a hospital bag ready, once we were in the car I pulled out my phone and called my mother.

"Becky darling how are you?"

"Mum I'm scared."

"Why?"

"I'm in labour..."

I'm trying to breathe through the pain but it just hurts so so bad.

"Baby hang tight I'm on my way!"

She hung up the phone so I called Ashley, she sounded upset as soon as I answered the phone.

"You alright Ash?"

I screamed out in pain not long after.

"I'm not too bad how about you?"

"Ash I'm in labour!"

"Oh...let me get Joe and we'll be on our way."

"Please don't hang up!"

"I'm not going too."

We talked for a little but she had to hang up so she could drive to the hospital. I look at the sign and see that we're still 20 minutes from the hospital, I turn to Colby he looks so panicked.

"I feel like I need to push."

"Becks just try and hold on a little longer."

On every pain I took a breath and cried out, it hurt like a bitch. The urge to push was getting stronger so I took a deep breath before taking off my trousers.

"Becky what are you doing?"

"I need to push."

"Okay do you want me to pull over?"

"Just keep driving."
