Review on Scattered Stars

This book was an excellent introduction to my first South Africa based novel. Jay Tsidi’s introduction of Naledi was personal and heartfelt. I loved reading about a strong, young, black girl who had faced so much but still rose above it, even though circumstances were not exactly in her favor. The cover could use more depth but the plot covers any flaws a reader might notice in the novel. Nothing about this novel was cliché and I absolutely would recommend this novel to people who haven’t explored writings out of their comfort zone. - Madelaine Akinyemi
