JUDGES & JUDGING CRITERIA

Unfortunately this year, we won't be asking you to sign up to be a judge since judging this awards is strictly invitational.

The list of judges will be released shortly but for now, here's the judging criteria.

JUDGING CRITERIA

Cover| 15%
They say don't judge a book by its cover but it's your cover that actually attracts readers therefore it's really important. Does your cover suite your story theme or is it just a text on photo cover?

Title | 10%
Just like the cover, the title is really important. Does your title fit your storyline and genre? Your title should be well considered and not just any title that came to mind.

Plot| 20%
Okay so what is your story about? Is your plot well constructed and structured? Or are you just dragging the story along? Your storyline should be well laid out and also interesting to read.

Dialogue | 10%
There should be communication between characters. We don't want to find out everything that happens through the writer. Sometimes we want to hear characters converse and tell us what is happening.

Character Development| 15%

Does your character develop as the story goes on? Or is your character as good as a statue?
Development here can be a change in character or change in perspective. Does your character feel anything at all? Who was your character in the beginning? Are they still the same in the end?

Spelling/Grammar/Punctuation| 20%
Editing books after writing can be very stressful and boring too but nothing says professional than an error free work.

Writing Style| 10%
Do you write in first person omniscient or third person omniscient? And how does it suite your story? Does your writing style bring out the full potential in your book?
